I hear constant hiss and constant noise (comfort noise i suppose) during calls,
its highly unbearable and research about this problem in google and xda forums brought me to the same problem but for HTC HD2 :

I recently bought an EM-ONE here in Japan and so far I am quite pleased with the device. It has a few shortcomings, but nothing too serious apart from one bug that is really annoying: When the device is turned on there is constant white and high frequency noise coming from the speaker. Even if I mute them the noise is still there and quite perceptible when the volume is tuned low. This turns out really bad when using the device's microphone as the noice gets recorded as well which puts a lot of static on the line. My question would be if there is anyone else sharing this problem (maybe on another device) and if there is anything I can do about it. Any help will be greatly appreciated!
I have searched the thread for other similar issues but mine seems to be unique?
Occasionally if I put the rear speaker to my ear I can hear a hissing sound, and more often than not when it's doing that I get no audio notifications for incoming texts or email.
Others have reported hissing when listening with headphones that lasts for one or two seconds after a system sound, but with my handset it last for a couple of minutes and prevents other sounds from coming to the surface!
Anyone else having this problem?
Any known cause/solution?
no one getting the same issue then?

what rom do you use?
Yesterday, out of the blue, my G2's handset speaker became really distorted. The distortion scales linearly with the volume but does not dissapear. I've tried rebooting and tweaking some of the audio settings, but nothing has helped. Has anyone else experienced or heard of this?

Is it the speaker for phone calls or the one that the phone uses when you're on speakerphone? Sorry for my confusion. It may be something that requires the phone to be swapped?
I will say I bought this phone a week ago and love it but I am having one problem I noticed with the earpiece. I never noticed this till the other day when in a quiet room I went to make call and could hear a slight static or hiss coming from the earpiece before even making the call. Its not that loud but and seems similiar to the Nexus 4 problem. Now this will occur even if you are not making a call just put your ear up to the earpiece and there will be a light static hiss. I went to the ATT store to test their model on display and same thing you can hear a slight static hiss. I am wondering if this is normal since the store display had this and has anybody else noticed this. Thanks Again
PS I have the ATT Version and only notice in a silent area.
Are you talking about headphones? Or a Bluetooth headset

The earpiece speaker when you make a call if you listen in a quiet setting when not making a call you hear like a static hiss sometimes you have to wait about 20 seconds to hear it and I noticed this with the display at a local att store. Thanks
try putting the earpiece speaker up to your ear do not make a call and just listen there a slight static hiss. I am not sure if this is interference but there have been comments on the verizon and sprint versions as well. Thanks
Earpiece speaker?
I'm having a hard time figuring out if you're talking about the phone itself, or you're using headphones.
If you're talking abut the phone itself, then I don't really know...
Maybe you can see a audio out partial wakelocks in bbs? I'm guessing it's something that hasn't shut the speaker off and is still running in the background.
My phone doesn't have this problem lol I hear nothing and I'm on AT&T version as well.

Its the earpiece speaker on the phone go into a quiet room total silent. Then simply act like your going to make a call but dont put the phone up to your ear and listen there is a slight static hiss coming from the speaker. I also posted a link that describes this better than I can. Thanks

I have a quick question what version are you on 4.2 or kitkat. Thanks
I recently started to hear faint clicking/ticking noises coming from the earpiece while having phone calls on my S8 (I heard those noises in the past but I thought they were caused by the other person on the call).
I downloaded an app called "Earpiece" (that lets you listen to music trough the earpiece instead of the speakers) and the ticking noises persist (even if I'm not having a phone call).
What's even weirder than that, I actually discovered that the earpiece makes those noises all the time (even when I'm not listening to anything and I'm not having a phone call), but they are not that loud.
I found that if I turn Airplane Mode on (without Wifi enabled), the noises stop. To give you some concrete examples:
- Connected to network( + WiFi on): Earpiece makes those noises at all times.
- Airplane Mode on + Wifi on: Earpiece makes noises at all times.
- Airplane Mode on + WiFi off: Earpiece doesn't make any noises. If I listen to offline music trough the earpiece (using "Earpiece" app) there are also no clicking noises.
* Those clicking noises don't have a constant rythm (they sometimes stop for a second or two).
*If I press my ear to the earpiece a bit, I can hear them very very well.
What do you think might cause this?
Thanks.
I am also suffering from a similar issue.
I haven't much noticed if it is there with wifi on or off etc, but it is really irritating.
Samsung says if you can prove we can refund, but it is really difficult to prove. I have noticed that when I press the phone hard on my ears the noise diminishes but doesn't go away.
is your problem solved, please share an update or any other please suggest a workaround.
Thanks
even i am facing same issue after updating to 8.0 beta version
Strange clicking from my Samsung S8+.
I have been hearing a strange clicking sound from my smartphone. Not being used or on charger, it makes this clicking sound that is very quiet but others do hear it. Is there an app that would cause this?
Having same issue seems to be the WiFi makes faint clicking noises while it's transferring data back and to anyone resolved the problem. Only an issue while I am on the phone
I have this issue as well- but it is so quiet you can't hear it unless the room your in in pretty silent
If you open the camera app and listen to the call speaker it gets alot worse. Think it's the WiFi mechanism vibrating against the outo focus mechanism of the camera
