Possible for two messaging clients on HD2? - HD2 General

I've been playing around custom rom flashes all week on my new Tmo-USA hd2.
problem is i've tried various types of Arcsoft composers, different reg mods and countless other things to get mms to work with the regular tmail.exe client (old better client that everyone takes out of their cooked rom)
is there anyway to have the HTC client installed (works fine with mms for me) but still use the tmail.exe for default SMS and MMS? i've been searching the reg and other parts of the OS to see if something pops out at me but my experience is severely lacking and i'm afraid of bricking my phone if i break something.
one problem with arcsoft is i cannot find anywhere to change the size limit from 300k to atleast 1MB. i've tried searching the forums but nowhere can i see MMS settings in arcsoft.
anyhelp is appreciated! thank you.

there's a cab out there to change the limit from 300k to 5MB.

its in my sticky towards the bottom.

HTC Universal/XDA Exec MMS issues, I have spent hours looking for answers...

Hello all!
I have been searching for hours looking for answers and I've found a lot of cool information, and supposedly some cabs that will supposedly fix what I want, but I'd prefer to do it manually before loading some cab files from the net. And I want to do it manually because at one point I had this working.
Problem: MMS is not working "correctly." I have the TX and RX small picture problem to be specific. I have found numerous posts linking to cab files here, there and everywhere, and to be honest there are too many download links for me to feel comfortable picking one that claims to work.
I have an HTC Universal branded as an XDA Exec. I recently upgraded the ROM to the latest that O2 had (if you need a copy I can provide), and that fixed some other problems I had going on. The last issue I have unresolved is the small picture problem. I am currently running Windows Mobile 5.
I have called HTC and some spaz guy answered the phone. It sounded like he was getting it on with someone or running a marathon, and he pretty much told me to talk to AT&T, with whom I had just gotten off the phone with. HTC says it's the network, and AT&T says it's the phone that is doing the shrinking.
I don't really care who is doing it at this point, unless that comes with an explanation of how to fix it. Once it's fixed I will be curious as to how it all broke, but now I want it fixed.
I started with the setting for a Cingular 8525 and I could not send or receive MMS msgs. At some point I fixed that, and then they got small, but I could send and receive. Before I flashed the ROM I could receive MMS but not reliably send. I received several MMS pics that were over 100 and 200 k, and one over 300k sent from a Razr. I state this because I know the phoen I have can handle it.
If you could post the settings to help me out, or point me to a link in this forum that has those settings (I'm not interested in a link to just a cab file, I want to KNOW how it works), I would greatly appreciate it. I have been looking on the web, this forum (via its search AND google), and the Cingular website, and even playing around with some of the setting, and I havent found the solution.
If you could email me at dragonfire_83 at yahoo dot com I'd appreciate it. I might forget to check the email/PM feature here...
Also, on a related note, what do I have to do to remove the stupidly arbitrary sending limitation of 100k in the MMS config section?
Thanks!
Dan

*ok, 10 char minimum bump*
Seriously....?
Ok, here I am DAYS later STILL looking for settings.
I managed to find on the cingular website (why is it that it takes me 30 minutes just to find the tutorial website????) and go back to the settings they have there, but now I'm stuck with the resizing problem.
https://www.wireless.att.com/suppor...sCategory=Picture+Messaging&tutorialId=233040
is the link I followed.
# Server Name: Cingular MMS
# Gateway: wireless.cingular.com
# Port number: 80
# Server address: http://mmsc.cingular.com
# Connect via: MEdia Net
# Sending size limitation: 300k (my phone only does 100k here)
# WAP Version: WAP 2.0
The phone cant send or receive at WAP 1.2, which I think it used to be able to.
I have found an overwhelming number of people and entries with similar problems, yet I have found no solutions.

Actually, Its just the RX small picture problem now.

how can i increase mms size???

Well i have a question i been looking on how to increase the current size of mms right now the max is 248k and also i tride sending a mms i press new mms on the messaging tab but nothing show up i am currently using binky11s rom 3.8 well thanks an advance
Are you sure that this is not a limit set by your operator?
Both my local operators allow VGA sized photos not larger than 100 KB and then they shrink these to thumbnails at 20 KB in size on the receiving side.
It's probably operator set. I use a Hermes on AT&T in the US and our maximum MMS size is 600k.
ok i flashe a different rom and now my new mms size is 600k the only promble is kind of slow does any one recommend a different rom the works with att/ cingular the roms i flash are bink11s diamond but binky11s mms dont work and diamond i am having difficulties getting apps to minimize thanks and advance
I've always had a terrible time with the MMS on AT&T. At least half of the time it will sit there forever trying to send it and then time out. It can get extremely aggravating.

Why Do MMS meesages open in Internet explorer, instead Of Outlook?

I have tried to remedy this problem many times and i cannot figure it out. Basically i can send MMS messages perfectly fine, but i cannot receive them. The messages are are actually received, but internet explorer opens to try to download the message and display it.
Iam on O2 PAYG in the uk. So Pocket IE replys with the message I.E cannot open the page check your connections.
That part of the problem, with Internet explorer not being able to open the page ,i understand but not why it is trying to open it or why it even does it in the first place. Pocket Outlook should be opening to receive the message. I have hard reset, installed over 20 different roms, original and cooked and all different versions of arcsoft mms but with no luck.
So i am hoping that someone can shed some light on what is causing this.
Thanks for reading and any replys
This may just be a shot in the dark....
But my mms settings has a gate way that is an ip address and the server address that is a web address (example http://mms.gocbw.com:8080/mms).
I'm wondering if reversing them would cause what your saying?
I'm guessing that it would just not work, but it was the only thing I could think of.
I guess I'm done rambling now...heh
Hope you find your problem.

Getting MMS to work with WM 6.5...

Just flashed 6.5 on my phone 24 hours ago (thanks to a few of you on here) but can't get MMS to work. As a matter of fact, I don't even see it as an option in any of the menus. Is there anyone out there who has been able to install an external MMS pack with their 6.5 and get it to WORK? Any help would be greatly appreciated!
i am sorry, but the rules of this forum demand you search first, use forum search, use google, look it up in the wiki!
this exact same question came up on 04/02, 3 days ago. but anyway, i'm not here to give you a speech about that. let me explain it to you:
mms is more than just another mail account, it has complex settings and rules and you need to set up rules for sending and receiving that are not comparable to e-mail accounts. that is why, even if you knew all the settings for your carrier in your country, you would have no success in creating a new account. there is a program out there called arcsoft mms, (which i recommend you to use as a search phrase next time ) it is about 2mb, you can download it here: http://www.megaupload.com/pl/?d=DQEKP22D i haven't tested it myself, but the link is given in the wm6.5 21198 thread and the filename is sprintmms. you install the cab and this will create the account for you and make basic settings, you still have to set your country specific and carrier specific settings, which you can look up on your carriers site. if you can't find it, post again and i will look it up.
have fun with it

no help???
http://rapidshare.com/files/369805590/DocHD2MMSFix.cab.html Have you tried that .CAB? It didn't work for me on various ROMs, sadly.
This i realy want to know as well, did it work for you?
I have heard/read that it's your provider that does not recognize your device in the right way and that's why we're getting this small tiny mms pictures...
no that doesnt work it adds
"UserAgent" "NokiaN95/11.0.026; Series60/3.1 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1"
"UAProfile" "http://www.htcmms.com.tw/claro/diamond-1.0.xml"
in
HKLM\\Software\Jataayu\MMS\SP
Did you try Messages/All Messages/Menu/Settings/Options and then setting Photo Resolution to Original? I was having the same problem and I think that resolved it - I know it is probably supposed to refer to outgoing rather than incoming but I'm pretty sure it worked for me.
I'm having problems receiving MMS at the moment anyway so I can't check, but hope that the above helps.
yeah i tried that n it still didnt work for me...
no one else having this problem?
If you check some of the ROM threads, it seems like people are always having this problem, but I've never found a real fix for it.
