[POLL] What ROM do you use? - Legend General

Take your pick, and lets see what people use!

Do I belong to the first slot ? Whats Rev 3 ? My rom doesnt have the ap2sd feature.
Its understood the CM roms will score higher.

I think the "Based on Official" is MoDaCo Custom ROM.
I use Azure.

I use Azure as well, honestly I'm interested in the results because I've been looking to change ROMs.

The last 4 weeks or so saw several ROMs released for the Legend but things have slowed down again. I hope Legend devs/chefs aren't leaving the scene...
EDIT: maybe this should be the 'General' forum

Azure ask the way

Please pop in to post which feature of the rom in use you like best e.g ap2sd, live wallpaper, speed, utility, connectivity, etc

May I ask why there isn't an option for the official ROM?

At the mo APP2SD ROM, Base on Official

Azure 0.6 rom which its awesome

Where is the option for Stock Rom?

I used CyanogenMod 6.0.0-RC2 before but I recently changed to Azure 1.0 due to issues of Camera and bluetooth function.

What is the best custom rom?

I like the default theme and am not opposed to it, and most custom rom themes I do not enjoy. Nonetheless I want a faster system and the ability for live wallpapers.
Are there any reccomendations on the best custom rom for this situation?

"This is what I'm running, but you need to try everything"
The reason why there are so many ROMs is because there is no "best ROM"
For sense run fresh rom or dc
And flash the oc kernel on top

ive tried all of the custom sense roms and i find this one to be the best. with this kernel OC to 710. its the fastest on my phone. and you can get live wallpapers from here.

There were two versions of the kernel there. I found out that the Fresh and Damage version is NOT the correct version.
Well if you like stability, and your gps and accelorometer to work properly. Ie you want to be able to use geocaching programs, and exercising programs like cardiotrainer then I would choose a rom based of of the official stock rom like fresh

HTC Wildfire Custom ROMS

I'm running Cyanogenmod 7.0.3, but I don't really like it. If one exists, can someone post a link to a custom ROM that is based on gingerbread with an updated HTC Sense on it?
Thanks in advance

There's just one, and its incomplete:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1269485
For daily use ones, you will have to look at Froyo Sense ROMs. Listing here:

Yeah as 3xeno said there is only one and it's not complete, I tried it and it was pretty useless as SN everyday rom. Try wildpuzzle (its 2.2) but it's a very good sense rom

Personally I think that the best ROM he should try is: Simple Beautyone.
And one advantage, as this is ROM for HD2, based on Windows Mobile 6.5, it is even more irrelevant for him than yours...
IMHO, use MIUI as its very clean..
Then flash MyUI EnhancerMOD v3.0
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1304240
I am using it whole day today, with heavy use of wifi and 3g, battery 15% at 9pm (on single charge), and the speed is awesome.
Hi,
I have two roms I like to use:
Juwe's rom, now v6 version
Doctors rom, also v6 version.
Both rom are based on 2.3.5 JVT including Semaphone kernel 1.8.
Personally I prefer Doctors rom because it is very fast and the battery lasts for me 50-70 hours.

Recommend a kernel and why

Hey
Ive never switched kernels before and Im in the mood to try some out Which do you recommend? I like battery life but I also like decent performance obviously
Which are your recommended? (Only universal compatible ones eg. they work with all (or 99%) of ROMS)
GB/ICS? AOSP or sense?

I ment by universal just that: they work on both AOSP AND Sense.
And I apoligize for not mentioning what version: Gingerbread
The reason he's asking is because there is obviously no universal kernel that'd work for both AOSP and Sense.

Yep what he said. For example, unity v10 only works on GB sense, whereas pershoot only works on GB CM7

Not to be rude, but they're very skilled developers, not noobs. If you read that thread you)ll see that the GB kernel works with Sense roms...

Well, I suppose that you can try the Tiamat kernel. Credits go to canyiarb.
You can also try the ILWT kernel. This is what I'm using right now, I've had zero issues with it and it's blazing fast. Credits go to Tsubus.
Alternatively, there's also EliteKernel. It includes custom governors, something ILWT doesn't have. Also a great choice.) Credits go to Nik3r.
All three of the above are excellent kernels (in my opinion). You shouldn't see much of a difference between the three.

That thread I linked to has a kernel which works on AOSP and Sense ROMs meaning they are compatible right?

How can I backup my current kernel if I want to switch back?
Not sure, I suppose you could make a backup of your /boot partition (if you're using 4EXT Touch there's an option for this in Advanced Backup I think).
The best thing to do would be to make a nandroid of your existing installation in entirety.

Cyanogen roms have there own kernel, check in settings/about phone/ and look under 'kernel version' you'll see the name there.
If it's stock, yes it is using it's own kernel.

I wouldn't recommend JellyBlast because development for that rom has already stopped plus jellyblast is a banned rom, others may not help you when you encounter problems.
get BeautySense if you like sense ui (htc phones).
however, you may want to check out other roms out there
I tested alot of stock based roms and I liked hyperion 8 pre gm the most.
+jelly bean themed
+Transparency in some apps
+Stable (no statusbar fc or anything)
+fast
-black text on black background bug

I was stressing on the fact that we don't know what you like or are interested in , so for example I like AOSP Roms (Pure Roms form google) which has been slightly modiied but you may like Touchwiz more than stock android
I suggest you to Try CyanogenMod 7.2 Optimized by Android-XDA. Thos rom is an AOSP rom. Hyper Light (65 MB = More space for user apps.) Then this rom is really fast and Smooth. I didn't checked if thos rom has Arabic support, maybe. However, i think it's possible to add it. Check this rom you will not be disappointed.
