For now at least Kingkernel is Sense 2.2 only, so no cyanogen or any vanilla rom
Kingklick kernels work with sky raider vanilla and aiccucs lite (vanilla). Both have enough Sense to make the compatible.

CM6 only works with its own kernel right now.

They don't just have enough sense in them, they are COMPLETELY sense with some icons switched out....CM is totally from source meaning it is stock Android and absolutely no trace if sense. Totally different bases and kernel requirements.

I may go to a MT3GS and actually like the streamlined-Sense you get on it. When you go to custom ROMs (i.e., CM6), are most of them sans-Sense?
Some roms don't have sense and have stock Android. Some have sense without the sense launcher it will have launcherpro for example instead but the menus will still have sense. Hope that answers your question.

What does CM use? I want FroYo with Sense. Or at least the Sense dialer.
I have asked jp4756 to port one of my roms over from the incredible to the slide. More info on my rom, jdfroyo can be found at incredibleroms.com/jdkoreclipse
Ps. The rom in the link is for the incredible. I will post the mt3gs version when available.

No Sense with CM.
So are there any Sense ROMs?
There are Sense roms, but none with Froyo. We'll have to wait until the official update comes out first.
If you want the full-on stock interface, I'd grab CR_Mod_1.35.531_OTA Full ROM.
SLIDE MR1: Version 4 Final is a Sense rom and what I was using before going to CR Mod.
I'm on CM6-RC1 now, and it's one of the most stable roms I've used. No Sense though. The dialer was one of the big things I missed from Sense, but I found Dialer One that functions close enough for me. Screenshot below. Oh, and it has a dark theme as well.
Imagine CM6 + sense, huh? That would be awesome.
For now, if you want sense, you're gonna have to stick with Eclair.
I personally recommend slidemr v4 or v5 if you want stock launcher (kind of irrelevant now that we have ADW theme for slide's stock launcher).
Like sandpaperback here, I had slidemr v4 for a while before switching to Eugene's CM6. Never had any problem with it.
Still the same, right? No Sensified Froyo roms?

Probably not until there's an official update to 2.2.
Hey guys i know that Rafyvitto isn't allowed up here anymore so i found his sense 3.0 rom flashed it and it's freakin slick! I was all AOSP before this but i'm having second thoughts.. But for the main question, is there any kernels compatible for this? preferably a LV kernel? I love it but hate the battery drain of Sense
Nothing right now. But hopefully maybe soon. It's kinda hard since we Dont really have a compatible kernel so even just hacking a kernel to work for us is going to be hard enough. After that maybe we can look into making it low voltage.

I understand the difficulty just didn't know how hard it would be since just the sense version changed, its still base 2.3.3..

you can flash faux's kernel from his mt4g GB leak with minor tweaks, but according to him all performance features (voltages, clocks, etc) are locked until the source is released. I don't have significant battery drain with the stock kernel, but then again I always delete everything I don't use with sense (like twitter, etc) so I'm sure that saves me some juice.
Nicgraner as syaoran68 stated. Now yes the Glaicer-GB2.3.3S leak is still not same. Hence 250mb sense build and 85mb AOSP build? You can't just dump a kernel and expect it to work as you know that. Alot of things depend on it specially the framework which would break the compatibility with Sense port. Which is the reason its not recommended till HTC drops the source. Did you try Faux's Ginger Sense leak? he also has custom kernel for it also.

HDMI capability is going to be based on the kernel not the ROM.
Now, is there a kernel compatible with Sense 2.1 or 3.0 that has the drivers for HDMI?
Not sure, haven't looked.
EDIT: I'm going to guess no, but that may not be entirely accurate.
HDMI Kernel
Hey Guys I am running a GB Rom and have HDMI mirroring working on 720p .
Just search and download the file and flash this Kernel and your Good to go =)
I could not post link to download because I dont have alot of post on this site yet. But just search for the file and you will find what you are looking for.

I have successfully ported the current code of HDMwIn into the freedom kernel I have been developing. Rom depending it does work and works great. I am currently running Miks 2.55 and it works awesome.

I'm using Synergy (no God Mode) with your aggressive kernel & mirroring works perfect on it too, to OP, pick your poison =)

As far as I can recall, there are currently 3 kernels for sense that support hdmi. As mentioned above, lithids freedom kernel, which works well and also has undervolting and oc/uc capabilities, chop suey kernel 9.26 and 9.27, and the latest poon sense kernel.

Same here, Lithid (thanks!). Something feels good about seeing my kernel's developer endorsing my rom of choice. MikG and Lithid Freedom were my first (and remain the only) OS/kernel flashes after rooting my OTA Gingerbreaded EVO. The combo has been equally stable to stock while affording more functionality including plug-and-play HDMwIn.
cool thanks

A friend of mine has the Sprint hero. After he saw my custom ron on my inc he asked if there was anything for his phone. I have looked but don't see any roms for the daily use guy for the hero. Do any of you have any stable hero roms that you recommend?

For daily use we normally use aosp, CM7, deck, or Jaybob's. All of those are based on aosp. Sense 2.3.3 is available with the wildhero by flashinglights
Everyday I'm shufflin'!

+1 I personally went with deck, because it seems to perform so much more smoothly, but wildheroc has some features that are simply awesome. downside is that gps is still having issues on just about all of the roms, so if you are really looking for something comfy and stable, I'd suggest AOSP 2.2 as it is kinda the go to for a lot of folks; honestly though, I have been on Gingerbread since abut January and it would be VERY hard to go back to 2.2 or stock; I would just lose so much functionality and personalization; Hope that helps;
The OMGB rom would be my recommendation (not omfgb). It's the most stable rom i've tried on the Hero and its nice and small. It doesn't have all the extra bells and whistles of a Cyanogenmod rom but it's a little more stable and just as fast. Run it with firerats and you'll have plenty of app space.

Wildhero for sense or kushdecks for speed. Both with jaybobs .35 kernal

In what context are you hoping to get 2.3.7? Do you run other AOSP ROMS? Cuz MIUI is the only one not based heavily on CM7 if I'm not mistaken. Even then, it has cyanogen DNA.
EDIT: Nevermind, thought you were OP for some reason, brain fail.

haha smooth but to answer your question i do run other AOSP roms based off CM7 but i don't like CM cause i think its just a base for other devs to use and they usually have more/better features that i like. just what i prefer i guess

We have a 2.3.5 pico port with sense 3.5, a wildfire 2.3.5 sense 2.1 with 3.0 features port, and jaybob just updated his rom to 2.3.7 today... our old ass hero is still ahead of the game when it comes to roms.
