Ive recently had problems where when my memory card is inserted into the phone it shows no SMS or MMS option when you press the button to enter into the message area. However when i remove the memory card suddenly it reappears. Also when the memory card is inserted i receive no messages! Im using Schaps ROM, i have fully reinstalled it hopeing it would solve the problem however it has not. Any suggestions?
Hey, i had that too when i had the trinity but it fixed itself, wish i could help you but i think someone will come up with a solution.
I have the same problem here. I have a 4 GB micro sd in an mini sd adapter and all of a sudden my compleet card was deleted. after some resetting and playing, everything was back all of a sudden except the mail/mms/sms function.
What i did to solve it was take out the sd card and go to the sms inbox and then put back in the card. After this it was working again. Lets hope it wount come back.
Anybody else with a better solution?
Regards Hyuned
It is back, I miss some files on my card also. and not receiving anything and the messages do come in somehow as they dont come later when its working.
Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr..
Hope some one has a solution.
help! so i installed Open touch 6.5 lite and then updated the iContacts to .75 and now i have no sms/mms on my phone, only my gmail account =/ can someone help?
i have t mobile if that helps.
(sorry if this has been answered in some distant thread already)
i said screw it and reflashed
i get this problem pretty frequently when i install roms. i dont know what causes it, but i havent found any other solution except to reflash. its the first thing i check after flashing...
weird thing is that it was working just fine i was sending texts and geting them, then i shut down my phone because i was ugrading my MicroSD card and when i turned it back on the sms/mms apparently had gone off for a cup of tea and didnt wanna come back.
well apparently every time i reboot my phone with OpenTouch 6.5 my sms/mms icon goes away. =/ sad times.
Hi,
I've been searching for some time now how to resolve my problem but without any result. The problem is that I have to wait very long time ( 1 - 24 hours ) to receive any sms even when the screen is on. Please tell me what should I check on my phone and how to resolve it. I’ve got a HTC Touch HD ( Blackstone )
Thanks
Anyone can help me ??
I think that has to do with your provider since your screen is on.
I remember this happening to me a few years ago, my provider asked me to input a series or numbers starting/beginning with * and # and the send key. Apparently it cleared up the sms cache of my mobile on the network.
I've spoke to my network provider and it seems to be ok but it is not ... still. Any other suggestions ?
Can you try a friend's SIM in it just to be sure? And try your sim in another phone.
ya worst case worst, hard reset or change ur sim cardd
ok .. .I'll try another sim, but this one is working on another phone.
I have a sim lock so i could only try another sim from the same operator and it is still not working. But my sim on another phone ... not htc ... is working perfectly. So what now ?
I'm not sure whether this could be the problem you are experiencing but it may be worth a try.
I'm with Orange and had a problem at the beginning of last week when I noticed some SMS messages weren't coming through for up to 24 hours whereas some continued to come through as normal (even from the same people). I also noticed that I had voicemail messages that I had not been notified of. Up until this point everything had been working fine so I contacted Orange. After a few pointless calls where they tried to send SMS messages to the phone with settings (not ideal if you're having a problem receiving them) I finally got through to somebody who explained that sometimes a problem can occur (he wasn't able to explain what unfortunately) and he provided a solution.
I was asked to delete all SMS messages from my phone (Inbox, Sent, Drafts, Deleted etc.) and enter in a code on my kepad which I believe may clear the SMS cache allowing system messages to come through. I then had to turn my phone off for 15 minutes then turn it back on. A system SMS then arrived which I had to delete, turn my phone off and back on again and the problem was solved.
From what I could gather from the guy at Orange it was a problem relating to the handset which can occasionally happen which may explain why your sim works correctly on another phone.
I hope that info is of some use to you.
and what was that code ?
Ok ... I think I’ve found the bug. I've done a hard reset and its working now. The problem was that I’ve put my sim into the device while installing touch flo 3D and this was the problem. This time I've done the hard reset without the sim and SD card. And I put them back when device was ready to run. In that way the problem just disappeared. So I think that my sim card was making some installation problem. Now I receive messages immediately. This solution also resolved another problem with backup. I'm using a Sprite Backup and before hard reset I couldn't make a backup ... some of the files was missing or couldn't be attached to the backup file. Now it's working perfectly. I'm writing this because I’ve found another topic about backup problem but without any solution. So maybe someone will find this threat.
So if You encountered problems with messages take out Your SIM card and SD cart and do the Hard Reset and wait until the second reset ( first reset is for WM6.1 install and the second is for HTC Customization ) After that put Your SIM and SD back. This will also solve problems with backup and maybe other problems.
hey guys...
i need your help... again. My phone quit vibrating when i receive text messages. it vibrates just fine for calls, alarms, and powering on but it absolutely won't vibrate when i receive text messages. i just got done flashing two roms and i still have the same problem. i noticed it a few days ago but then i flashed the new r2a rom and it fixed the problem but only temporarily. i'm about to go crazy... am i missing something here? if any of you have had the same problem pls give me some advice.

did you happen to install any apps on your device?
Hi I have been using a mwg atom v for a few months. I realised that when I leave the phone off (at night), I cannot receive the text messages sent to my number during the period when it is off, i.e. when I turn my phone on in the morning I cannot receive the text messages sent during the period it is off.
I tried asking the local mwg service centre (pcpro in Singapore) but they claim that this is not a phone issue; and when I called my network provider (Singtel) they claimed that they can't do anything about it also.
To me, it is a phone issue as I can receive messages when the phone is off if I use my SIM card in another regular non-PDA phone.
Does anyone know how to troubleshoot this problem? Hardware, software or network issues?
Many thanks!
Are you using the original MWG ROM that came with your Atom Life? if yes then i recommend that you consider upgrading to one of the new wm6.5 ROM's available. I have been using this one and it Rocks!! http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=490978 I have no problems recieving sms when my device is in "stan-by" mode. Note you can not turm off the AL unless you remove the battery and then re-insert it. Once you press the power button the device starts ang thereafter when you press the power button you are only putting the device in to stand-by mode.
If you do decide to upgrade your ROM then please read a few posts to get the general idea. The above ROM does not have a GUI so you must install it from a formatted 1Mb or less Memory Card (formatted in 16FAT). Put the memory card with new ROM file in to your device, the to put your device into "Bootloader" mode you must press and hold the RECORD button while pressing the reset button using your stylus, then release the RECORD button but release the RESET. Then the new ROM will install from the Memory Card. This process only takes about 5 minutes to be completed.
I have a similiar problem.
Mine cannot receive sms after I reply the sms until I turn off the signal (not the phone) and turn it back on. It's kinda a nuisance.
I try upgrading it to WM 6.1 but the problem persist...
Can anyone offer an advice plss??
