I use ChunkyDroidRom for my WM rom,
and It seems like every rom I put on my Phone always does the sleep of death, causing me to pull my battery or soft reset.
Are there any WM roms that would damn near of get rid of this problem or is there a certain radio or spl i need or something, this is so annoying.
I had the ShubCraft rom, Matty's Sense rom, and all of them from the Gamesquare.co.uk place. and they are all 2.2 Froyo.
Have you tried reformatting your SD card? In the very least, delete folders that you didn't create. Such as Program Files and Application Data.
kumar
im also experiencing the same with my phone... i flashed my rom to kumar premium and from time to time my screen goes blank. the only way i can get my phone up and running is to do a soft reset. plz help
I tried that. It worked foe a hour or so. Then boom dead screen. I really need halp?

You need to do a little more research. I have two threads talking about how Radio affects Android builds. Radio 2.10.50.26 gives the SOD in most phones. and it also tends to lose signal. 2.12 the same, with overheating and excessive discharging. 2.11.50.20 is the best Radio of all. it took me about 2 month to get those findings. Hope I helped you and others ^_^

Use ChuckyRom and radio 2.12 and have not had a SOD

I was told that you need to upgrade your sd card from a class 2 to a class 6 n that should fix it, that true?? im experincing the same SOD almost everytime it goes to sleep, im running the energy rom with mdeejay evo sense v1.7 rEVOlution
The SOD is caused by the Android kernel, not your SD card size or class.
I had the sod issue with new baritone froyo build. I found not using live wallpaper and not leaving wifi on when idle avoided it...been running Android without hard reset now for over a week.

Hey guys, I didnt see any thread like this before so I think no one has taken the time to do this (hope to be right.) The thing is I tested the title listed Android Roms with different .50 radios raging from 2.08 to 2.12. I tested all this using MichyP R8, manusfreedom 11aug, and the used builds default kernels
I found specific radio irregularities that might be useful for the users out there who are still experiencing difficulties with their android builds and use this as a way to get a better result.
**Always remember that I have HSPL and therefore I can test other Radios. If you dont have HSPL, then you shoudnt do this.
All roms gave me the exact same response on both HD2s I own
R 2.08 - Robotic voice, overheating
R 2.10...26 - BSOD, constant screen freezes (more than usual)
R 2.11 - System freezed the first two boots on fresh install, some screen freezes afterwards but generally a improvement over all other.(BEST Result)
R 2.12 - Extreme battery discharge, overheats easily, low sound, signal takes longer to recover, signal constantly shuts down for over 10, 30 secs.
I will keep working on this. as far as I can tell, Radio 2.11.50.20 was the best of all. Im using SetCPU with Conservative 768mhz max/ 245 min. screen off 245/245 and I get around 15 hours of battery, almost no Screen freezes. I will be testing more Kernels and builds as they come out with good improvements in their respective readmes. Hope this was as helpful for you as it was for me.
Michyprima's (r8) Zimage caused system hanging under Mattcleo 1.6b. try another kernel
You think all the other 2.10 series radios will have similar issues? I have been using 2.12 and it worked fine with Froyostone, apart from the screen freezes. I am also having all the same issues as you with 2.12 and Mattcleo 1.6b. Signal bouncing up and down, data connectivity inconsistencies. I am definitely going to give 2.11 a try.
actually the 2.12 radio is the one that works best for me I've tested out on like 14 diff. HD2's it does Drain my battery like CRAZY but its the only one that gives me the most stability.
I think I've try'de them all but I will try the 2.11 radio again see how it works and report back.

2.11.50.20. thats the one
I've been using 2.12 all the way and it works fine with mattc 1.5 & 1.5b. No freezes, but it's true that it gets hot really fast and that battery is drained faster than with others.
With MattcLeo 1.6b and 2.11.50.26, constant hard system freezes. Not even usable.
Going to try 2.11.50.20
R 2.08
I've been using 2.08 for a while since flashing my WM Miri Rom and kept it when I went to the Froyostone Android. Seems fine for me. No robotic voices either.

yes, with 1.5b and 2.12 and I got the most usable Android experience thus far, but the screen freezes were very frequent.
6:10 AM Eastern
After playing with several variants I found that
Radio: 2.11.50.20 + MattcLeo 1.6b with RMNET to be the most usable combination so far. Screen Freezes are of course still there, but it seems that like OP says downclocking to 768 max lessens the frequency. Also I have noticed great battery life especially with 245 Max and 245 min profile set for when screen is off.
I am also running 2.11.50.20 from beginning and its just great!
Anybody have a link for 2.11.50.20?

It seems that with 2.10.50.20 radio, NRGZ8's Barebones Rom, and Mattcleo 1.6b RMNET, after about 2 hours of mostly problem free usage, Sleep of Deaths started coming on full force.

I tried my best to avoid posting a question, but 50+ pages of reading and 14hrs later i am still lost. Here are the specs of my phone
Tmo Branded HD2
Radio: 2.10.50.26
HSPL 3
Miri 6.5 v18
Froyostone series V2
Issue: I copy and pasted the android folder into my formatted sd card. I press CLRCAD, then press HARET as instructed. It boots up to android, but as soon as it gets to the android home screen it vibrates, crashes and shuts down. Every single time. I've formatted my micro sd card to fat32 more than once. I've changed rom's several times. I have no clue what i'm doing wrong. Help, please.
Hspl3 is cool. Your radio is same as mine. I formated the SD card to fat32. Then install miri ROM or chuckyROM. Then use matt c froyo as Android version. Install Android on the root of the card. Not in a folder. Please try again. Ask me details if needed.

Mmh i have no clue you seemed to do all fine. 90% of problems come from radio version, I suggest you to change its fast to test. Take care if you have a tmous, some radio don't work for you. I have 2.08 and all its ok with it.
What kind of battery are you using? Mine would do the same because I was using an extended battery. I switched back to stock and I was fine.

for the life of me i don't even know myself at this point. but i really don't recall reading anything about the battery hindering your being able to boot android. My mistake though.
You won't find a anything in the forums about not booting from an extended battery. That's something I found out myself. I couldn't figure out why android never booted up all the way and it just clicked that the only difference between me and most android users was the battery I'm using. I twitted NRG about the issue but I never received or saw anything posted on his page. Only one build has ever worked with the extended battery but that was ages ago before there was an android section on XDA for the HD2. I suggest you use the Bangsters V1.1 (1.2 releasing tonight), it's great on battery. If I were you I'd at least download the Bangsters V1.1 now before V1.2 is up in case it filled with glitches. Good Luck.
Edit: Don't bother looking for a kernal that will allow you to use an extended battery, you won't find one.
obsolete people...it even has extbatteries on the title...as well as being on the first page of android development...
Michyprima has a thread that supports the extended battery. He has a build designed for you guys with the extended battery.

I'm testing it right now, running on shubcraft 1.5 ppp. Signal is a lil better but battery life don't know yet. Have to run for a few more hours.
Sent from my HTC HD2 using Tapatalk
Yes, it's android friendly. I've noticed the signal is much better, I get signal in areas I never did before, but the battery drain is a bit higher than it was on 2.12.50.
I had major problems, like no signal, no data connection, slow speeds, dropping connections.
I went back to 2.12.50.2_2 which is the best for me.
Much better signals for me. Running FroyoStone SenseV2.
Battery drain is hard to tell, since it wasn't very good before.

I tried this new radio, I switched from 2.10 to 2.14. Before i used to get 6Ma in standby but after using 2.14 radio, I get 15Ma in standby. It drains the battery more than 2.10. I didn't have chance to test the reception.
I've tried the 2.14 Radio with the Core_Droid_V.0.3_PPP Android Build.
Signal is better than with the 2.12 Radio, but WIFI gives an error in Android.
Tried WIFI in WM6.5, works flawlessly there.
Is this because of my Android Build or do you guys experience the same problem?
yeah i read the new radio is better on reception but harder on the battery

It works very well for my two HD2s. In fact, I have not lost connection for the HSPDA since I flashed it in!
anybody tried Radio 2.15.50 with andriod?
and if so, what are your opinions?
i see that i get much better connections and smoother performance but horrible battery life...
and for those who tried several Radio versions, which one you think is the best?
I am running 2.15.50.14 and the device bricks within a few seconds of running HARET - I just get static horizontal white lines that look like they are made up of small text. I have to remove battery to get running again.
It just wont work.
Can I revert the radio back to one that will allow me to run Android?
I simply cannot stand Winmo any more - the HD2 is a beautiful device that is crippled by third rate software, I wish I had purchased an Android phone, I still have 12 months to run on my contract. ( Help!
well i got another problem using this Radio (i don't know if it's due to the Radio version or the android build itself); Haret and CLRCAD stopped working and give me an error message
and yup you can downgrade your Radio, just make sure you have HSPL
lol totally agree here, my next phone is definitely gonna be andoidish but you can't deny that our beloved HD2s are still up to their names
I got my HD2 back from HTC recently after a touchscreen replacement. They had flashed 2.15.50.14 to the phone. I stuck my SD card back in, booted android with no problems whatsoever. Still using the same radio and whatever stock rom they had flashed to it 3 weeks later and haven't used WM once

Using 2.15.50 radio with android and it's great, battery life is excellent and no problems for me.
what exactly is you issue you can get android to run? i run 2.15.50 and have no issues what so ever.
i jus switch to 2.12 1 hour ago. but sleep of death for android still occur. using shubcraft 2.0
Ive been using 2.15.50 for a little while now and have observed that it will charge up to the full 100% in android where it was only charging up to the high 90's before. I have had no trouble running either android or ubuntu with this radio on my tmous HD2
me 2 seems everything works fine with this radio
I've been using the 2.15 radio for awhile now. As mentioned earlier the charging actually reaches a full 100%, battery life seems to be more efficient now, and I've had little to no connection drops as compared to before. You may be having problems if you're not using HSPL3.

I've been on 2.15 for a while now, never had any problem with it. Battery life is great, charges to 100% (with proper calibration I can get over 2 days moderate use out of my phone as well) very few data drops except when I switch to a roaming network, call quality is excellent as well.
Running 2.15.50.14 (The latest official T-Mobile update) with no modifications. Works fine with FroyoStone Sense V3.2. Terrible battery life.
On a side note - This update helped the battery life when running in Windows Mobile mode, I get significantly more time out of the device than with the ROM it came with originally.
I'm running 2.15.50, I'm having lots of issues.Random crashing when using GPS or 3G connection.Only 1 of 6 Android builds I have tried work without crashing or not loading plus robot voice on calls. Will try to load a custom ROM and downgrade the radio version.
No problems so far. Usimg it for a long time.
Everything works as it should!

Hi guys
I have a problem. When I charge my DHD battery, upon removing it from charge, the phone always freezes and the only way to unfreeze it is to remove the battery.
It's leedroid v2.2.2 and radio 26.06.03.24_M2
Help? Thanks
Freezing 1 or 2 times a day here on CM7. Happens sometimes as soon as I pull out the charger.
i have used every single rom available for Htc desire hd.. be that with or without sense.. never encountered such a prob... maybe the flashing of the rom wasnt done properly? i think it might solve it... also reboot to recovery then go to advanced and clear battery stats see if that helps
Don't be afraid it's not related to the flashing process. I am running an out-of-the box dhd with original HTC Rom 1.3x and experiencing from time to time the same error. 3-4 times in the last 4 months.
