Pandora killed by google nav audio? - EVO 4G General

I've recently noticed a problem with my 2.2 evo. Back when I had 2.1, I would stream pandora while Google Nav was running in the background. Whenever Google Nav had to issue an instruction, it would pause pandora's playback and then resume it after the instruction is given.
Now that I have 2.2, I've noticed that when google nav gives an instruction, pandora is killed. Or at least suspended in a way that I have to manually restart playback.
Does anyone know how to fix this issue? its kind of annoying to have to tap the play button to get pandora started up again...

This a known issue and was told it was on pandoras end.

Noticed this a few days ago. Really annoying.

Told by whom?
Is there a fix in the works?
the reason i ask is that there is no mention of this issue on pandora's website =/

There are a bunch of threads on this already, and they all look the same - OP states the issue, someone mentiones that its a known issue, there's no known fix, and that it's being worked on (although it's actually not specific to pandora, apparently it happens with a few other streaming music apps), a few "me too's", and then someone like me comes in and tells the op that he should have searched first. then the thread slowly moves off the main page, and we wait for the next one.
edit - a dissenter, that's new! lol - it's listed on the google code bug list here;
http://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=9569
feel free to star it up!

Maybe somebody should do that
Just added a ticket to the TuneWiki website.
Let's wait for their response.
Just got an email from their support team:
Our Quality Assurance team has been unsuccessful in reproducing your issue on Android 2.2 with a Nexus device..
They have asked me to make sure you are running TuneWiki 2.03 and nog 2.02.
2.03 hwas released last friday
yes - there are more updates coming, hopefully in the next few days.

Obnoxious browser issue "Problem with file"

I'm having only one serious problem with my Vibrant, and while it's a little problem, it's frequent enough that it is driving me nuts, and also doesn't allow me to use (at least) one of the apps I use every day.
The issue is, when I go to some web sites, whether in the stock browser, or in another browser, like Skyfire, or whether it's in the browser within an app (for example NewsRob articles) I get a psuedo-crash where it opens the stock browser and says:
In a pop up box: "Problem with file The requested file was not found. webkit/"
In the browser window itself: The Web page at file://android asset/webkit/ could not be loaded as: The requested file was not found. webkit/
In the address bar: the same url as above.
If I hit back a couple times, it will take me back to whatever content I am looking at. But this is incredibly annoying when it's half the articles I'm trying to go through on NewsRob, or when I click certain links and it comes up and I have to hit back a few times before I can look at the page.
I have noticed the following:
- it seems to happen on pages that use Flash, it might be javascript as well, but I'm not sure. HOWEVER, disable plug-ins and javascript in the browser setting does not change the error from happening.
- thinking that it has to do with Flash, I looked into it more on the device. I noticed in Applications, it shows Flash listed, as well as Pineone Flash lite" so I don't understand what level of flash the phone has.
- I also noticed that (coming from a Nexus One and myTouch Slide) I don't see thumbnails for a lot of flash video content like on those devices. If I got to sites with Flash content that is not a video, it's just not there.
Anyway, if anyone knows how to fix this, I'd be much obliged.
I searched google and found almost NOTHING, which is shocking and makes me think perhaps a hard reset would fix it, but I'd really rather not have to re-set up my phone if it's not going to help.
The only thing I found online was that apparently some Droid X owners are having the same issue.
Anyway, any help would be great.
I have the same issue and just assume that samsung modified the browser so it broke whatever plugin its trying to access. The problem is any articles in newsrob that have an embedded video.

But I've found that it's any link from anywhere that leads to a page that has a video. Which is immensely annoying.
any other ideas? does anyone else have this issue?
Captivate too
My Captivate has same issue. Thought I had broken the phone rooting, enabling sideloading,or hiding the bloatware.
My guess is it's probably related to flash lite 3 which is a plugin preinstalled on the vibrant. I'm going to assume that this problem will disappear once froyo rolls out.

I'm getting the same problem as well on my Samsung Captivate. Very annoying since more than half my articles have links to videos in them.

I tried removing the flash files from /system/app and rebooting. It still happened. Disabling plugins in the browser doesn't help either. Irritating as hell, I sure hope CM6 or the official 2.2 release come out soon and fix this. And the GPS, compass, etc..
I had the same issue with Dolphin Browser HD, but I haven't had the issue yet with the stock Vibrant browser.
Does anybody have any insight on this? It's still plaguing my newsrob whenever there is an embedded video in the feed.
It's a problem with flash lite files. The vibrant has trouble with its implementation.
Not sent from my Vibrant using XDA App 'cause I returned it.
I hate to make froyo this holy messiah but will froyo fix that as well?
I'm actually hoping froyo literally cures cancer.
Btw, I'm on a Captivate, but this topic wasn't in that forum. I thought it would be relatively universal though.

Sound issue

I have an issue with my vibrant and ill try to explain, so when i am listening to music or i am on navigation mode and i receive a notification(email, message, facebook, etc) the sounds lowers itself, and it kepps lowering with every succesive notification. Has anyone come accross this? I am running 2.2 bionix 1.3.1 and launcher pro. Thanks.

I'm running CM7 and never had a problem like that. Have you checked the forums for your ROM by doing a search? All my problems are always answered when I do that. Plus, it forces me to read a lot of other cool stuff that I didn't know was available
This is a nice way to say use the search and you might find something extra too. Way better than just saying "search noob".
I also have not encountered this problem either but maybe look in you music player's settings about notifications. Not sure which one you are using but they almost all have some type of notification/volume setting.

[Q] Nexus Q stops playing music after 20 min

I have a Q that stops playing music after 20 min and displays "music player has stopped". When I restart it, it displays "cannot play the stream you requested". It still shows I'm connected to the Q and allows me to add music to it but will not allow me to play music until I reset it by unplugging it and plugging it back in. It then will play for another 20 to 30 minutes before it displays the same message again. I've tried using the Ethernet connection as well instead of WiFi...still has the same issue.
Any ideas? I'm getting frustrated...so any help would be greatly appreciated.

Ditto - it was acting this way a while ago, but only over the last few days has it gotten like this. I've got 10k+ songs up on Play (and yeah, I use the service to buy music when possible) - so this ranks as extremely annoying...
Cheers!
The interesting thing is that in my Google Music account it shows what devices I have that are authorized to access Google Music, however the Nexus Q does not show up on that list. This is concerning to me, I wonder if it has something to do with why the Q is shutting music down intermittently like that.
I don't think the Q has ever shown up in the authorized device list (and don't think it should since anyone should be able to play music through it).
As for the issue playing music - I see this as well on all of my Qs (3) and it sucks.
I know this is unsupported hardware - but at least for me, this device sort of fulfills the promise of what makes Play Music 'tick' - and I use it as intended daily. So this thing just blowing up and not working (and I was just about to grab another from eBay) - blows, hard. Since there's nothing to replace it at the moment aside from moving to another 'ecology'.... (Sonos, etc)...
It seems that it stopped working correctly for me somewhere around the last update of the Play Music app (no hard data on this, just seems about the right timeframe to me). So I'm hoping another update fixes it. As I said, I have 3 Qs and all of them have this problem so getting another from ebay won't fix your issue (EDIT: misread your post on reasons for getting another...I'm holding out hope that i/o this year will shed some light on future support of these devices - if not, as long as they keep them working as they were i'll be happy enough).
I am also having a lot of connectivity issues with my Q lately. I was starting to think it was my rom on my phone causing it but am now starting to wonder if this is a server side issue with google play.
I am running AOKP PUB, Franco r102 and the volume boost mod on my nexus 4. I previously was running stock and feel like these issues were not happening until flashing these roms / mods.
Edit : good theory about the google play / services update.

I would think that considering you need a Android device to initially sync it with your Google Music account, you're accessing your music account as one of your devices and therefore should show up on your device list...but I could be wrong.
I don't think that was ever right - remember, a Nexus Q can play content from _any_ compatible device's content stream - it piggyback's that device's authorization for a specific track or video - that's why it works well for groups... anyone can add any of _their_ content to it's playlist.
So I don't think device or account specific auth is the core issue. I think it's related to lack of updates as the play service backend changes, certainly - but little else...
I sort of think that Googlers themselves with Nexus Qs that see these issues will ultimately come to our rescue - but it will be slow to happen...
Same problem with my nexus q and the latest Google music update.

So is this Q a paperweight? What to do?
i created a google group describing the issue. Please star it so we can get an official response.

Done!
My response keeps getting deleted ?
After seeing this thread I've been playing music for over an hour with no issues. Maybe its fixed? Maybe it only effects some users?
I should add that I'm using both a stock Nexus 4 and a Nexus 7 to control the Q.

Are you dropping one song at a time on the Q or are you sending a whole play list and letting it run?

First, I played a short 28 min album from my Nexus 7. Then, queue'd up a few songs from my N4 to play after the album was over. Played without an issue.
I've scrolled through tracks just to test that out as well.

Looks like I've spoken too soon. Just ran into the "couldn't play the stream you requested" problem. The blue ring is on my tv with the track info floating over it. Nothing is playing.

Yes, sounds like you are sharing the same issue we are. There's an old saying "Misery loves company"...I just hope Google gets off their rear end and fixes this. I built a whole kiosk at my business dedicated to the Nexus Q and the ability to allow my members with Android devices to stream music to it. Now I kind of feel like an arse.
I wonder who we can get a hold of to let Google know about the issue. I have a feeling contacting support would be useless. Anyone know who the engineers were that worked on the Q? I wonder if we could ping them on G+ or something. I'm sure there isn't a big enough user base for the tech sites to cover it, so going that route wouldn't work either.
I mean I love the Q but it does 2 things and 1 of them doesn't work. That should be a big enough issue for Google to fix.

I did contact Google tech support in the beginning when it first started happening, and have been in contact with them via email ever since. Because of the limited quantity of units out there, the tech support has very little data, nor much ability to help. I have also emailed them a link to this thread in hopes that it would spark some deeper tech support. It may help if we all follow that route, Maybe the squeaky wheel gets the grease? LOL

Google Now search problems need advice

I have a Nexus player and after about the first week the voice search from the remote stopped working.
So what I did was I did a few reboots and cleared out some apps but that didn't help. I checked to see if there's any updates in the play store and there were not.
What I see now is that it's hit or miss on if the search even works (more misses and then hit) but more than that when I press down on the microphone button on the remote and record my question or search it keeps recording it doesn't stop.
The other thing is even if it does record it and stop it doesn't pull up any information. One of the reasons why I got the player was for android and was for the search integration right now I don't have it any help would be appreciated thank you.
Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Same here. I find the search only works on the main screen (not from an app) and in order to stop recording, I need to press the middle button after I said my bit.
I'll try that tip but man what a fail. How does google create a device like this with this many flaws.
Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
My voice seemed to work fine until I upgraded (er... downgraded?) to M 6.0 and rooted it. Didn't test it after M and before rooting though. Now its really hit or miss.
I'm not rooted. Just installed a few apps and then it didn't work.
Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Yeah same with me. Voice search worked fine for a couple weeks now nothing.
Like previously said it's like it keeps recording even though what I've said is displayed

Do you mean this? nd the mic icon keeps moving like it's detecting more voice....
Turn off automatic app updates, then go to play store and uninstall the app called Google App for Android TV. It will revert to the version shipped with the device which seems to work for me.

me too, I just skip straight to type search, the look ahead works really well, which is nice.
