I keep hearing some people claim how "great" their Vibrant's battery is. I am on my third Vibrant and battery life has been terrible on all of them. Just recently I noticed ~16% of my battery got drained for ~15 minute voice call. (The attached screenshot shows voice call using 27% but at that time my battery was at around 39%, which means the 15 mins took about ~16% total battery.) I just passed my 14-days buyer's remorse, so exchanging it (unless I want a "like new" one) or returning it are not an option. Any suggestions on how to improve battery life? I already keep the brightness on the screen to the lowest it gets.
Thanks!
Hmm that defintely is not normal. I would check with the store in getting another replacement. 15% drain on 15 min call is not normal for any phone.
There is a bug where if you power down the phone while it's charging, then the reported battery % is higher than actual. Perhaps the seemingly fast drain is a result of the reported value "catching up" to the actual level.
Edit: So I figured out where you're getting your numbers .
Still doesn't seem right though, did you notice the battery percentage before the call by any chance?

My rooted G1 had that same bug. Start charging it, power it down, power up and from completely dead it would show around. 24% in a couple minutes of charging. This phone I've noticed does it as well as newer blackberry's. Bizarre...
What I would suggest is draining the battery till it dies, charge it back up fully and see if you can have it happen again. Could've been a fluke.

looks like a bad battery reading to me.
Complete charge, complete discharge, and complete charge should reset it.
Yeah the percentages do need to be calibrated and sometimes they are off a bit, say 100%-90% actually often goes faster than 80%-70%.
The batteries are also partly responsible since discharge Ah is not a completely linear relationship with voltage (which is why the percentages need calibration).
I would say unless you have a rogue application on your phone eating battery it is more likely just how it is being reported.

I'm having same issue. Battery life on my Vibrant is just horrible. I can barely go half a day until it's fully discharged and that's about 30 min talk time an hr maybe browsing apps and internet and a little WIFI/BT. Just for example I charged it after complete discharge and took it out at 11.30 pm last night, drove my brother to the airport and back around 1.30 and while it was sitting in the car and a few calls I made, it already went down to 74%, I purposely left it without charge till morning.... at 8am it was showing 47%... WTF!!
I have rooted the phone with update.zip, I have installed ATK and have Crazy settings on it.... one thing I don't get is that after it kills apps, they keep coming back every few seconds. Also brightness is at the lowest and no live wallpaper...
UltimateJuice by the way is showing 1.58 times, which is BS... right now it's 10.30AM and its down to 38%....
Any help would be appreciated!

Vibrant's battery life does suck, even with the supposedly power efficient processor and super amoled!!!!!!
Samsung has some more work to do. Hopefully, the froyo update can alleviate the problem!!!

Anytime the screen is on its eating battery. We have the best screen in the market. If you really want a conservative wallpaper use something almost all black or solid black. When a AMOLED screen is displaying black the LEDs are off.
For those "apps that keep showing up" those are due services that are running in the background. If you don't use the app often set the notifications to a lower time or set it to update manually.
If you've rooted there is a thread on "how to keep your phone quick and snappy" read it. Also fix your permissions through recovery. Rogue apps apps can drain battery.
after 3hrs of on & off hard using (minus extra long phone calls >45mins) I can pull 12-16 hours easily on one charge.
Look into things like eugenes vibrant 6 & JACs UV(under volted) kernel.
GL and car chargers are awesome!

Battery life on my Vibrant has been superb. You might need to change settings or something. This screen shot was for today with lots of calls and market shopping and I even watched a movie. I do not use a killer, yes I'm rooted with lots of tweaks to my notification bar. I'm using the spiritbomb lwp and its been great.

Unfortunately, the battery life on the Vibrant just sucks, compared to the iPhone.
I came to a Galaxy S and a Vibrant form the iPhone 3Gs.
With the same style of usage, the iPhone lasts at least 40% longer than the Galaxy/Vibrant.
I like the phone a lot, but am really unhappy to have to constantly think about how I use it, to avoid it dying on me before the end of the day.
Basically, with moderate use, it will last for a day, but if I go out after work and do a little texting or take a few pictures, it will die before I get home.
12-14 hours is really not good, since with my old iPhone I used to be able to last almost two full days without recharging.
Plus, the blocking of the camera at 15% of battery life is a truly idiotic decision by Samsung.
Thanks for your feedback! I am newbie in the Android world, as I come from the Apple planet. It just takes time to get used to it.
As for XDA App, where can I get it?

XDA is your Friend
Search XDA for all ur app and theme needs, as for the Iphone being better on battery. I dont doubt its better, but from my experience and many family and friends showing me there iphones they are always tethered to a power source. Theres no better test than driving 300+ miles a day every day and coming back to the hotel and seeing my phone tell me i have been using it for 20+ hours and i still have 25% charge. I am constantly using my phone for calls, text, movies and such. Without my phone my wife would probably divorce me lol The amount of travel i do via plane, train and automobile is all the real world facts i need. Vibrant is a keeper.
Yes it sucks.
And under 15% it's not allowing me taking pictures!
Come on, I know I am under 15%, but I still want to take 1 or 2 pic!!

So is there a fix for it? Or is it all samsungs fault? Or will the update solve it? This sucks, my battery can loose 30 percent in a matter of 2 hours...
Your battery has and always will react to the way you use it. If you a new user and play with it all day then its going to go fast. If you use 3g, wifi, bright screen you are going to get crappy battery life.
If you use it like a normal person with 6 to 10 calls a day, light web usage, some text messages you should get a battery to last you all day.
Fire up the screen and watch videos or listen to mp3's all day well then your not.
I turned off every little thing, and i still get crappy battery. Wifi off, gps off, sync off, wallpaper off, the whole shabang.
Does your phone actually die, or does it just show a percentage you are unhappy with?
The measurement seems to be a bit off on the Vibrant.

After discharging/conditioning it a couple times, my battery is much better. 9 hours of standby overnight, it only lost 10% battery. That's pretty good IMO.

Is this your first smart/android phone? Your battery doesn't sound far off for an high end smart phone.you'll eventually learn how to extend the battery, especially after the newness wears off and your not playing with it 24/7 like most of us right now.remember this is an extremely high end phone, it takes a lot of juice to run the high end chip set.if you buy a high performance sports car do you expect to have some fun with it and get 30+mpg doing so? You've gotta understand what you've got. Soon enough there will be extended batteries available and if your willing to root, many devs are capable if tweaking the os to get the most out of the battery without hampering speed our features.

I'm having major issues too. Down to 28%(down to 25% now just typing this message) after 3 hours this morning. I just powered off and back on and I went from 50% down to 28%
Here we go again g1 all over again Seems like the only way to keep power is to uninstall everything.
I'm also seeing cell standby as a possible issue.
Frustrated... Guess it's time to reset to see if one of my apps is the issue...
I have 35 percent left after being off of the charger for 1 day and 5 hours. This is with light to moderate use, meaning some browsing, some phone calls, some market downloads, about 20 minutes of gaming, syncing, and reading e-mails. Of course my mileage varies if use the phone more. When the phone is about to die I'll snap a pic to share how long a full charge has lasted me.
Already this battery is lasting me 2-3x longer than the G1.
I tried a different battery and it's been really good to me =)

What percent do you show for "cell standby" from setting->about phone->battery use? I'm starting to think that my poor reception area is my issue.
I think the battery percentage shown in the Status is off compared to what is shown on the battery icon. That said, my battery lasts all day with normal use. If i use the web more than normal, of course the battery goes faster but still i usually get all day out of it. May have to charge it some in the evening.
Was hoping it would be better like the iPhone 4 battery seems to be. It is said that 2.2 will have a bit battery life but we'll see. Believe it when i see it.....if we ever get the update
My wife and I got Vibrants at the same time. She was getting great battery life, around 70% by the end of they day, and I was dying just after 1pm. I assumed that i had a defective phone, but decided to wipe it and try running "stock" prior to returning it for a new one.
After wiping the phone and starting over, I'm getting much better battery life, but I think that it's because I didn't use "push" email. I have a corporate Exchange email/calendar/contacts account, and before I had it set to 'push" (or something like that, my phone is syncing DoubleTwist right now, so I can't check. ) When I re-setup my email account, I told it to check only every 15 minutes.
My battery life has been much better this time around, and I think the email sync setting is 1/2 the reason, the other half being that T-Mobile coverage isn't great where I've been the last week. I'm guessing that the "push" sync meant that the phone needs to keep a data link to the server, which is fine if you have strong coverage. When it's weak, then the radio has to work overtime trying to maintain a link, which drains the battery.
I'm going to try this out today and tomorrow, and if the battery life is better than I'll keep it rather than try trading for a new one.
For one, if you're having a battery issue, buy a charger or spare battery. Get a task manager to kill your apps after a certain time and check into what services are running in the background. Just cause you're not playing with the phone doesn't mean its not running or using the battery.

Cell Standby is at 24 percent.
Maybe its some quality control issue in the batteries? Everyone is getting such varied battery performance. I'm thinking of calling T-Mobile and requesting a new battery.
I notice on reboots many apps get started automatically. I've gotten better battery life just by manually shutting them down with astro file manager app. Ultimately any time an app is running even if its not using cpu cycles it still costs power to keep it in ram. Manually shutting down will minimize this obviously.

To be fair, running a smartphone without e-mail synced would sort of defeat the purpose (for many). Though to the point of this "official" thread -- I'm thankfully happy with the battery life on my Vibrant, and I have Gmail, Twitter, etc. running.
Let me guess you don't drain your phones battery either during its first use and let it completely charge up (while off) to 100%.
I did this with my wifes and mine. This has been the best battery life I've had out of a smart phone to date. I've gone up to 36 hours on one full charge. However normal is 18 hours then I charge when I go to bed and I don't even have the warning that my battery is dying.
I hate restarting my phone, it always resets my battery stats. I love seeing how long I can go .
I'm glad we have an official thread now.

I've read that this isn't necessary with Li-ion batteries (and in fact completely draining can be bad, though phones have a built-in protection mechanism to prevent total discharge)?
I will add that I briefly owned a Nexus One, and find the Vibrant's battery life to be much better... but "YMMV," i guess
completely draining IS bad, but our phone cuts off before this should be an issue (hence why, even if dead, you can still cut your phone on... though for not very long, this is not advised).
That said, the Vibrant has had VERY good battery life for me.... I also think the OP is "doing it wrong."
Seriously. How much do you do on the phone. The only way I drain this thing is surfing and downloading. I dont really have a lot of widgets. I guess if ur running alot of stuff you'll be burning battery life

Changed battery, changed device, changed ROMS. Only two things I see in common, the Vibrant and you. Personally I haven't had any issues with the Vibrant.
Just checked my battery status.
70%, unplugged for 8h 7m 38s
Display - 25%
Mediaserver - 24%
Cell Standby - 23%
CPU usage for Mediaserver - 1h 15m
Approx 1 hour of music and 5 podcasts.
Applications that I'm running that sync:
Facebook
Gmail
Google Voice
Google Talk (usually intercepts the first message then focus switches to my Desktop client)
Email via personal IMAP server (synced every 30minutes)
Yahoo Fantasy Football App
Mint App
bought the phone last week, charged to 100% with the phone off then began using it non-stop. the battery wasn't that great at first, but i have since gone through about 2-3 full cycle charges, usually draining the phone until shutoff, then leaving it on USB charge overnight. charged to 100% by the morning, then i would turn the phone on and charge a bit more until it read 100% while on. since then i have charged a couple times with the phone on, here and there. my last charge was with the phone off, wall charged overnight. no top off needed.
all syncing and background data turned on
use wifi at work, set to never turn off
3g disabled unless i need it
auto brightness
settings > sound and display > DISABLE "power saving mode"
use black.png background because i like how dark it is
don't use any data grabbing widgets
it's been 32+ hours since i last unplugged and i'm sitting at 22%
two full days use off a single charge is a-okay in my book! other peoples' use may vary, but this is my personal setup. i think doing a couple of full cycle charges in the beginning really helps. i'm completely satisfied with my current battery life, even with all the speed tests, wifi/3g surfing, and goofing around with the GPS
Hi,
I unplugged my phone this morning around 9 A.M, and sent about 50-100 texts today, and right now at 5:35 my phone is at 33%. The only thing that is running, is ADW.Launcher, and I've done LIGHT Twitter/Facebook checking throughout the day, maybe about 2-3 times each. I have Beautiful Widgets, but it's set to update every hour. I haven't talked on the phone at all, and my brightness is set to auto. My wifi is off, and I made sure I don't have GPS or anything on. What's killing my battery? My BB's battery life was 1000x better, I shouldn't have to baby this phone to have it make it through the day.
I'm running JT's Clean D101 rom, and that's it.
Edit - 32% now.
Get "OSMonitor" from the market (its free) and it will give you a real time display of all running processes and cpu % for each process. To make it easier to watch list open options in OSMonitor and sort by load and make sure order is checked as well. And watch the list for a couple of minutes to see the offender that is hogging the cpu. I've had problems with the xda app and I seem to be the only one that has it hammer the cpu after closing it so I always have to kill the xda app in task manager after using it or else it will ride the cpu between 8-20%.
My typical idle cpu usage is about 2-5% not including the cpu usage of OSMonitor itself.
good day.

Thats about normal time for a Smartphone. If you average that you used 66% of your battery in 8.5 hours, then its safe to say your battery is averaging 12 hours a day. Also, most of your battery will go to your display, and if you texting all morning, your display is going to be on all morning.
It also could be that your in an area with bad signal. Your phone is going to pump juice to try and keep signal.
As far as BlackBerry gos, its not nearly as smooth and capable. I could argue my flip phone from high school lasted four days without needing to be charged. Android is in an entirely different class than BlackBerry.
Is there a definitive process for conditioning or reconditioning the stock battery? I'm on my second fascinate(vzw replaced first one basically because of my frustration with the local vzw store) & I've noticed a big difference in battery life between the 2. First one was completely stock with adw launcher only & it got 16-20 hrs between charges. This one is rooted, some bloat removed, and I only get 8-10 hrs. Using os monitor to look for cpu hogs & so far no improvement. Put all my bloat file extensions back to stock in sys/app hoping to impact erratic charging cause it all started after root. Any ideas?

I'm no expert (standard disclaimer) but I don't think it's a matter of calibrating the battery as much as calibrating the software.
Power the phone down
Charge to 100%
Boot into CWM
Wipe Cache
Go into Advanced, and Wipe Battery Stats
Pull the battery, reinsert, and again charge until have 100%
Unplug, reboot, and run the phone in whatever your normal use is until you get as close as you can to a full discharge
Again power down and charge to full
As I understand it, this process allows the software to correctly read the true charge on the battery. if anyone sees any flaws with this, or anything incorrect in my information, please advise.
Are you using a Live wallpaper? I noticed an increase in my battery life after I turned it off, which is kind of stupid because it should only use CPU cycles when the screen is turned on.

This could be a big offender right here. Use the power control widget and keep it on the lowest brightness except for when you're in areas that make the screen too dim to make out (read: outside).

I would investigate as that shouldnt be. My shift lasts almost 2.5x my hero. I bet if I had your phone in front of my I could find out whats killing it soo fast.
Is your phone getting hot? I would do a full system wipe and start over from scratch and see if it doesnt get better after you try the things I've listed below. Note, I didnt have this great of battery life until 6 days after I purchased the phone and charged and discharged numerous times. The first few days the battery life was not good at all.
A little list of things to do, check and or disable;
1. Use spare parts and find out whats killing your battery ie partial wake usage, cpu etc.
2. Turn your window animations from all to only some animations
3. Turn off automatic display and keep it around 20-30%
4. I have auto sync off on all my appz (E-mail, Gmail, Facebook etc.). I update my E-mail and such manually.
5. Turn off data when not using it. I find data accounts for around 15-25% of juice used and thats just when on idle.
6. Only use widgets on the homescreen if you really have to (Running widgets use a lot of power over time)
7. Use Android Hackers tool from the market and it will break down how long your cpu was in a certain state. ie my cpu spent 65% at 245mhz and 28% at 806mhz.
8. Keep off 4G, Bluetooth, wirless networks for location and GPS if not using it (GPS uses less power than wireless networks and is more accurate anyway) I assigned Quick Settings to open when I hold down the search button. That makes it easy to enable/disable any of these setting within seconds.
9. Turn off google talk and make sure it doesnt sign in automatically (most people dont realise this)
10. Turn screen timeout to 15 or 30 seconds (if longer your phone can keep the display on accidentally while in your pocket if a button is pressed, wasting power)
11. Dont use a task killer unless its to kill an app you know drains your battery and therefore must be closed to save juice
12. Check your apps. Some apps keep using cpu etc because they were not programed correctly. (some appz I've found to drain my battery are; Yahoo Mail, Craigslist, AndTorrent and the market if a download is hung up. There are a few others I cant remember off the top of my head) If your phone is getting hot for no apparent reason this may be the cause.
13. Calibrate your battery by bump charging (charge your phone till its full while on, turn it off and charge till its full again. Then bump charge it around 5-7 times) Wipe battery stats if applicable. If you have a car charger, plug your phone in on the way to work to account for the little bit of drain that occurs once the phone is fully charged yet still on the charger.
Remember you can get china made batteries for very cheap. I paid $12 for 2 batteries and a wall charger off ebay. This phone uses the same batteries as the Hero and Evo by the way.

I would investigate as that shouldnt be. My shift lasts almost 2.5x my hero. I bet if I had your phone in front of my I could find out whats killing it soo fast.
I noticed Yahoo mail and Craigs list apps I downloaded from the market have a memory/cpu leak that kills your phone super fast.
Is your phone getting hot? I would do a full system wipe and start over from scratch and see if it doesnt get better. Note to that I didnt have this great of battery life until 6 days after I purchased the phone. The first few days the battery life was not good at all.

yahoo mail DESTROYED my battery life on my hero so i havent used it in forever...sad to see it still had that problem....also I stopped using any battery widgets that show the exact percentage (as these are usually wrong anyway) and went back to using stock browser (Miren browser, while I really liked it, was eating my...)....i now check my battery through the settings....I was having varying battery life but after recalibrating by letting it die all the way then charging it up full i most recently got like 30 hours off the charger with moderate use and got down to 10%....coulda probably squeezed out a few more hours too if i left it idle....not too bad

I find that Battery indicator doesnt draw much power if any as I've always used it and never had a problem. The maker of the app states it uses no extra power. I love the circular battery indicator version found in the market. Its not a widget, it stays in the upper left corner of your notification bar. You should give it a try.
Phone doesn't get hot. I've started from scratch twice, I've ##DATA# reset. I had terrible service and data speeds before I did that and it did a number on my battery. Now it'd fine, but it just drains while doing nothing.
I never use task killers or auto sync, I live with spare parts and and monitor it, no real partial wake usage to speak of. I know how to save battery, my hero get 20+ hours with use and auto-sync on.
I'm thinking my battery might be bad. Feels like your talking down to me too, captain.
Sent from my bathroom, with toilet paper.
I haven't had mine a week yet, but atm I'm not getting half the battery life I did outta my Hero running AOSP's Gingerbread alpha.
I'm blaming the crap bloat that's part of the stock ROM.
With the display set to 15-20% I've got the display accounting for 69% of the battery usage. :/
Turning off sync is not an option and I feel defeats the purpose of a smart phone. Additionally, I fail to see the point in paying for 4G and not using it. (I do turn it off if I'm out of area for it or don't expect to be using much data.)
So thus far I'm disappointed in the battery life... but still think it'll improve vastly once rooted and cleaned up.
EDIT: Just did a test running Angry Birds for about 10 minutes... maybe 15. It ate up 9% of the battery in that time. Added another 1% to the display usage.

I'm just trying to give advice so that other people understand what to do to get the most out of the battery. This wasnt meant to be just directed to you. Sorry for trying to help you out, Captain.

Miren's latest update last week is supposed to have "reduced battery usage". I've had no problems. Maybe time to come back to the Light..?
I was able to hit the 48 hour mark with light use.

hey that's really impressive. I thought my 20 hours battery life was pretty good...kudos to you.
def getting better bat supply. especially from my hero which only lasted about 6-8 hours, just got my shift yesterday afternoon. from a full charge: Constant texting, facebook, Zenonia 2 (Downloaded wifi), Snes emu + 11 roms (3G), and customizing it to my hearts content. almost 12 hrs later had 20% until i plugged it up at work.
so far this thing is a golden brick to me
Just out of curiosity, how do you calibrate the battery? Just in case my battery life doesn't match the reports (I know my luck )

Its under # 13 on my 3rd post.
getting great battery life isn't that surprising given you've got a 1500mah battery much like the evo and epic however 48 hours is rather impressive.
Sent from my cm7 Evo 4G!
Working on calibrating my wifes battery and damn this thing is hard to kill. Even with with everything running for 5 hours its still over 20% finally decided to bring out the big guns. Turned on navigation and the flashlight. I'll post when I see the battery life after calibration.
Sent from my cm7 Evo 4G!
Edit: Phone plugged in at 7:53pm PST. Now to see how long it takes to charge.
Edit #2: Phone finally fully charged almost an hour after my evo finished its 0 to 100 at 12:19am
Edit #3: Holy F***. This phone takes forever to die and to die. Finally on the second off charge. I wouldn't still be doing this but for the fact that its saturday.
I'm so giddy right now. I've ordered an OEM battery for my Vibrant, and i should be getting it any day now. The reason for me ordering a new battery is limited usage time. Lately when flashing any ROM, I make sure It is at 100% charged. I will normally get about 4.5 or less hours of usage - using a little app named 'Battery Left'.
I don't use a task killer. Ever. I know this has some controversy signed to this, but the Android OS is engineered without issue regarding this.
I Use WiFi whenever I can (uses a fraction of the power 3G radios use). When I CAN'T use WiFi, I make sure it's turned off so it's not wasting power scanning for hotspots.
I make sure GPS is off whenever i'm not using it.
I set display timeout to 30 seconds, set brightness to Auto, or manual and the lowest. Little trick, if Brightness is on manual, you can adjust it on the fly by swiping left or right across the task bar.
I let the battery TOTALLY discharge at least once (twice is better) and then charge to full. This doesn't condition the battery, this just calibrates the battery metering software, so that it knows for sure where zero is, making the metering more accurate.
I try to use a darker colored wallpaper, blacks and reds and deep greens and blues use less power than lighter tones, and white is the worst.
I get a half-day out of my rooted Vibrant on T-Mobile, and I actually use it as a phone (amazing huh?), PDA, game machine, ebook reader, etc, it's not just in my pocket on standby. Battery life has nothing to do with it being unlocked/rooted.
I understand the biggest reason why people think THEIR particular smartphone has some sort of battery problem: They just got it, and are using the hell out of it. We tend to not set it down in the first few days/weeks, we're always fiddling with it, showing it to our friends and co-workers, etc. Once the new and shiny wears off, and we settle into more "normal" usage patterns, we start noticing that we get a lot more battery life out of the device. Some people think that the battery is now "broken in", but the truth is, the USER is broken in.
Some of my POWER hungry apps I use on a daily basis is 'SportsTracker' which I use riding my bicycle to and from work (7.3 miles one way). SportsTrack uses my GPS and tracks my ride in REAL time. It sends a link to Facebook and Twitter, where my friends, and family can watch me go. This app uses about 17% of my battery - one way. So, at the end of the day, just using SportsTracker it uses at least 35% of my battery.
Speaking to the heavy users, how many hours do you normally get using your Vibrant?
With 20-30 calls a day, 20-50 texts, dozen or so emails and listening to music and just geeking on the phone Axura 30 hrs before it is 15% Trigger 24 hrs before 15%, but then, that's how it works for me. Since I got rid of stock roms, I have had ZERO battery problems, I only use Task manager. Deleted all the bloat and I have screen set to 50%. Battery is no longer an issue
With Bionyx 1.3 I let the phone sit idle (exchange email running in the background though) from 8AM and till 4PM it took only 15%
Skype+music+movie for around 1 hours and it's down 15% more (now 70%)
I guess it'll last 1.5 day normal use and 2 days idle use

That's a great battery life. My bionix eats more battery on almost the same usage. I have around 76 user apps installed and some bloater. One thing I have noticed using system panel is when I sleep, my phone sleeps with me and uses an average of 1% battery per hour. Is that good? I still I think im not getting optimal battery life when im actually using the phone.
Sent from my Samsung Vibrant (Bionix-V 1.2.1) using XDA Premium app
You guys think that's good battery life? Nah, this is good battery life.
I always got 20-30hours a charge with most of the Bionix roms. However with Bionox 1.3 I struggle to get more than 12 hours with the same usage. I did notice that new app BLN (using your soft keys as notifications) was reported on some other roms as a battery drainer, so I have uninstalled via Titanium. I will report back tomorrow if that is the issue. I still use KA5 modem, so that part has always been a constant
Weird. I'm on 1.3 as well. I'm 15 hours into my charge with normal usage on 3G/WiFi and I've got 25% left.
Sent from my SGH-T959 using Tapatalk
I'm 15hrs in running Bionix-v 1.2 and i have 42% left. That's with GPS on all day....phone in pocket from unplugging to about 3:30pm. Then only light use.
Days that I use heavily I'll have to plug in around 4pm. I'm not too happy with my battery life. I love my phone...but my old iPhone 3G had top notch battery life! lasting 3 days without charging.
Is it not weird how these times fluctuate so much between users?
Will the new Galaxy S 4G battery fit in our phones? Or will it even be worth it?
Do you have the superpower app? It saves my battery big time when phone is sleeping.

I ordered a batter charger, two spare regular batteries and one spare extended battery last month for my vibrant.
Now I keep a spare charged battery in my pocket and I no longer have to plug my phone in anywhere I go. I just swap batteries and put the dead one on the charger when I get back home.
If I am going to be away from home for more than 24 hours then I put in the extended battery which gives me about 2 days worth of use.
Its a bit of a pain to have to be down for a minute when the battery is dying, but I am more content using the phone this way since I can now keep it with me instead of leaving it upstairs or on my office desk to charge.
My phone is on the stock KA6 kies and from 8-8:30 it is off the charger on 3G. When I get to work it is on WIFI with WIFI Calling(no signal indoors) from 8:30-12:00 and goes back on 3G. then at 12:30 it goes back on WIFI(calling) and sits like that till 5:00. Usage during that time, some email viewing, 10 txt or so, 5 min phone calls and that is it!! from full charge at 8am to 5 pm I'll be at 45-50% battery left and what you read above is all I do with it all day. Battery life is horrible. Not much I can do(unless someone has an idea to fix the issue) as I need WIFI calling otherwise why have a cell phone?
Food for thought

So 16 hours with 3G and WiFi Calling on all the time...on the STOCK Samsung crap? Thats pretty awesome man. WiFi calling is a HUGE drain. Spend the $2 on an app called SystemPanel. It will tell you exactly what is taking up CPU Cycles which, of course, uses battery.
I go 24 hours on a charge with routine use. Granted, everyone's use is different. But I got two days with the KA7 modem on Bionix V. I see no difference with 1.3 (haven't used it enough to tell). Granted, I had WiFi Calling frozen and was on EDGE most of the time and turned on WiFi when I needed it. I've observed WiFi Calling using excessive CPU cycles when it isn't even on. Its pretty poorly coded. I recommend freezing wifi calling when you aren't using it.
