thank you for you help
Considering the announcement that 2.2 will now have built in USB and WiFi tethering, what do you think Sprint will do with this? I see them not pushing the update out since they want to charge 30 extra a month for using their own WiFi tethering feature.
I hope this phone gets rooted fast after release.

or they just disable those features and reactivate them if we pay the charge... just like they did with the tethering option on the hero

"USB"...do you mean host usb features, as in the saygus vphone? (where you can plug a usb into the mini-usb port and drag and drop files) ...or did you just mean USB Tethering as well as wifi tethering?

Sorry, I meant USB Tethering.
Since some people are being juvenile and aren't cooperating with others on posting the Netflix .APK file, here it is.
This has been tested on an HD2, NAND ROM variant HyperDroid CM7 "Gregarious Greyhound".
I cannot guarantee any other variants. Theoretically, if it's CM7 based, it will work.
This same file has worked on a Samsung Galaxy Tab, an HTC Incredible on CM7, and the HD2.
Many thanks to Chinle43 for the .apk file.
Works on BOYPPC-SHIFTPDA NANDv11clean, sweetah!
working great on NexusHD2-Gingerbread V2.7 NAND
Works NexusHD2-Gingerbread-2.7
This is the correct app, the other ones floating around do not work.
Any specific player on those roms? I have CMYLXGO's Desire hd rom on mine. It installs, everything comes up, works fine until you go to play a video. It loads to the player then crashes back to the main screen.
Wonder if it might be the kernel
worked beautifully for the 90 seconds i tried it on AmericanAndroid May 7th build. Pretty sure it would work non-stop I just wanted to reboot into SuperRam Froyo to try it in there too...going to it now
Installed on my atrix and my inspire running RCMixHD 6.1.0.1 with gingerbread. No luck on the atrix, getting the unsupported device error.
The interesting thing is that out almost works in the inspire. It plays audio but I get a white screen only.
Sent from my Desire HD using XDA App
Works on m Galaxy S i9000!
Official Netflix app works!
Just downloaded the official app from the android market. It works perfectly on hd2 with android.
1.1.9 Blutopia doesn't work... program runs and connects, but the video wont play but that's an old version (2.2.1?) I'm overdue for an update anyway.

Yes, but which Android on HD2 are you using?

just chiming in. it works perfectly on the unofficial SuperRam Gingerbread! I'm assuming it'll work fine on the Froyo variant as well. Thanks for this! Definitely a nice surprise after finishing my last final exams
works great on superram froyo 1.5 by darkstone.... "Its a great day for Androidia everybody"
It also works great on NexusHD2 Froyo v1.9G and NexusHD2 Gingerbread v2.7.....thanks a lot for sharing this, been wanting netflix on my HD2 for a while now.....I didn't know this was released in the market until now......thanks for sharing....just a little FYI, when I checked on my phone, the apk shared here showed up to be the same version that's on the market.....
Works great on my HD2 (HyperDroid-CM7-2.01), streaming "Rampage" via wifi as I write this.
No discernable lag. A/V Sync looks awesome. Overall, very very happy with this
Resets to main menu after trying to play a video on CoreDroid v1.6
Works on Hyperdroid GBX v12 also, couldn't find it in the market though. Tried a forced attach with titanium but still don't see it under "my apps".

Same here and I'm using the same type of ROM you are using except its an older version which is 1.4 I guess we should use the CM7 ROM or the Nexus one that some are talking about.
Was just at the T-Mobile store browsing and talking to the staff and told the manager and an employee I was running Netflix on Android. They didn't believe me but when I left the store they were both running Netflix on their G2s.
I just got off the phone with a rep at Netflix about the recent loss of availability on the Evo. Just in case some of you were not aware, the RUU Gingerbread update not only killed netflix for Stock Evo 2.3 users but also Stock Evo 2.2 users like myself. Now the reason is that Netflix assumed that all Evo owner's had a forced update to 2.3 and stoped supporting the Evo period until the developers can fix the playback issues on 2.3.
I informed them that not all Evo owners updated to 2.2 and that if you click ok in the app to get the update from the market and then very quickly hit the back button then play it will in fact stream the video. This works also in 2.3 with Netflix version 1.2.0 build 819145. But performing the work around is a PITA annoyance.
The rep is forwarding my finding and the fact that there are still 2.2 Evo users out there and will turn off the forced update today sometime and perhaps have the updated app available on the market for 2.2 users. They also will try to replicate my findings with the build I was using on 2.3 and see if they can get a working update for 2.3 within a few days.
So keep and eye out.

Ummm they didn't break it for 2.2 users. I just streamed fine on my 2.2EVO here running Calks EViO 2.2 rom.
The app just doesn't show up in the market anymore but it works fine on 2.2 at least.
Just so you know, I am on Evervolv, which is 2.3 AOSP, and just tested Netflix after reading this. It worked perfectly.
My Netflix version is 1.2.1
Running Deck's Gingerbread and it works very well.
CM7 here and netflix is a runnin'

Good to know, but I'm referring to stock 2.2 and 2.3 of course. Like Sprint lovers and stock based Rom that do not have a modified build.prop file.

Well the only thing modified in Calks buildprop that i noticed is the build.description, which i wouldn't think would make a difference in getting through NFLX checks. Its a sense based rom pretty stock with theming stuff and speed tweaks basically.
i believe the OP is talking about 4.22 / 2.3.3. or sense gb ("RUU gingerbread" update for the evo), not aosp gb.
netflix on sense froyo is still working for me (evio 1.8).
thanks for inquiring OP.
I did the new radio update
EVO_Radio_2.15.00.05.02_WiMAX_27243_PRI_2.15_003
ROM
update-cm-7.0.3.1-Supersonic-signed
KERNEL
SavagedZen-2.2.0-CFS-HAVS-signed
I am watching netflix on my HDTV right now via my evo and HDMwIn app
On cm7 perfect...
"If you having Netflix problems I feel bad for you son, I got 99 problems streaming a movie ain't one" lol
It's not gingerbread with problems just gingersense roms.
I had some issues with Netflix a few days ago...I uninstalled and recovered app + Data from Titanium Backup and it started working again. Just F.Y.I. I also believe there's a post somewhere with the same fix in it.
as I understand it - if you go to the market there is no Netflix app showing for Evo regardless of what Android OS or Rom you are running.
If you had Netflix previously installed on a ROm where it worked, it should still work.
Netflix will not work on any Sense based 2.3 ROM.
On Sprint Lovers still with Netfix 1.2.1 and it's still going.. Wifey's Stock 2.2 on NF 1.2.0 is down..
Heres the latest Netflix apk if anybody wants it.

Thanks Man! This fixed Netflix on stock rooted 2.2.
I'm using Deck's 1.2v GB 2.3.4 and Netflix works great. It's the 1.2.1 build though. Search the forums and you can download the .apk since it might not be available on the actual market for your version of ROM.
It might not work for everyone but it's worth a try...
Does anyone do something in issue USB or Wifi Tethering ?
Still waiting for some proposal how to solve it.

Any news on when the ROM will be released? I'm anxiously waiting am looking forward to the Internet Sharing
Right now it's only confirmed for HD7 but DFT are supposed to be working on HD2 as well. Will have to wait and see.

Any info about USB tethering?
English is a foreign language to me so I'm very clumsy at forum searching.
I want to use USB tethering because it seemed to use less battery. While my HD2 WP7 is WiFi tethering it uses so-much battery that even 1A charger cant keep.
