[Q] Unable to turn on wifi - Legend General

After an OTA update, wifi stopped working on my HTC legend. I decided to investigate the matter, and after gaining root access and attempting to insmod the tiwlan_drv.ko kernel module, I got this error in dmesg:
tiwlan_drv: version magic '2.6.29-e3993620 preempt mod_unload ARMv6 ' should be '2.6.29-9a3026a7 preempt mod_unload ARMv6 '
So clearly the module's version does not match the kernel version, and it obviously will not load.
Does anybody know where I can find the correct version of the tiwlan_drv.ko module ?

Are you using an unbranded legend? Did you unbrand it yourself?
My wifi works fine, but if I had your problem I would drop back to version 1 and then upgrade again via OTA.

I have the same problem as the original poster, and would appreciate your input.
To answer your questions I have (I think) a debranded phone.
Bought in China, but after query to HTC support apparently it was originally branded to Vodaphone in Germany, so they must have debranded it.
Im having problems not only with wi-fi but also updating the phone. I'm still stuck on firmware 2.1 update 1.

I had the same problem after an OTA update. Took it to the service center and the re-flashed it with the firmware after which the problem was solved. Didnt pay as my phone was under warranty.

I wish
Thanks for reply.
For me that is not possible.
My warranty in for a Vodaphone branded device in Germany. Not only do i now live in Italy but I'm sure they wont be too happy seeing the phone is debranded.
Any way to reflash the phone myself?

Hello good day Htc HD 2.2.1 update negative desire. Updated from causing a problem is found for the prediction, says the country may have taken the phone is usually no problem as far east countries, European countries, the problem of the devices. So how can I change the software of this event in the country (country code) program with. I'm waiting your help I need ideas to solve this issue.
Hi, I gather english isn't your native language.
Not to worry, I think I understand what you mean.
The 2.2.1 Android update for the Desire HD (DHD) was removed due to the issues it caused for a large number of customers.
If you want to have the latest software available you will need to root your DHD, apply ENG S-OFF, flash a custom recovery & then flash a suitable ROM.
There are guides available in the Dev section of these forums, I would post links but I'm mobile.
But what may be relevant to update the phone's takenDid he the country? I bought the device from hong kong.

I dont know what happened to my Motorola Pro. Its a European Version, not Verizon.
Is it bricked? So I have to send it to the service?
Or it is the wrong SBF file?
Anyone knows if there is a SBF file for european Motorola Pro? Maybe i used the wrong one?
Is there any way to get back?
The phone was original in the beginning, no root, no nothing.
I just tried to flash the SBC.
How did you get a European Pro when it hasn't been released yet? If it is in fact a Pro then I don't think it liked you flashing a Verizon SBF.. Ofcourse it should have an SBF of its own.

Its a Motorola Pro from Germany. In the US its called Droid Pro. Its not branded with Verizon Sign on the backside. On the bill its called VOD1 maybe a prebranded Vodafone Model, but no Vodafone Software or else was on it.
The original software was Froyo 2.2 I think...
Or do you speak about die SBF, the non existing European I'm searching ?
Now Im running Bootloader 3.01c, great system... please help.
Or if you know it exactly, that there is now way to go back, if I flashed "half" a wrong SBF to go back to stock, please tell me, that im good to send it to servicecenter of Motorola to reflash it....
Someone would ask me, why youre doing experiments if Motorola just released the 2.3.3 Gingerbread for the pro... but I wanted to try CM7 and first step in the row is: FLASH it to 2.26 or so with the sbf-file.... Maybe for the Verizon Droid Pro thats running but not on the european Version of it.

Yeah, that SBF is only for the Verizon Droid Pro from the US. The Motorola Pro released in Europe, while nearly identical, actually has some hardware and software differences. It's not the same phone as the Verizon Droid Pro. SBFs are phone specific, meaning they can only be used with the phone they were made for. You can't flash the SBF intended for one phone onto another, even if the phones seem like they're the same.
The only way that I know to fix it would be to flash a SBF for the Europen Motorola Pro, but I've never seen one posted online. Hopefully someone else might know where to find one or can suggest another route to help you out. But when flashing a SBF, always make sure it's for your exact phone, or else you'll cause major problems (like you're having).
sorry i did not get back to you sooner. but yah if you some how have the europen version your screwed till the sbf for your version comes out if it ever come out the sbf i have posted is VERIZON ONLY
A Wonder Phone...
... its on the way to Flensburg. Reflash.
I talked to someone from Vodafone, he told me that my mobile will be sold in Germany official in a month. Motorola did a contract to sell it exclusive on Vodafone till September. But mine is not branded, and german keyboard. We was laughing on the phone cause he dont understand, how I got it.
By the way, the ONLY MOTOROLA SERVICE CENTER in germany will fix it. Maybe 25, -€ to pay.
Thanks to everybody for the informations they gave. I ll wait now till Motorola opens its bootloaders.
And Android 2.3.3 on the phone is not too bad Cause of a release in July 2011 in Germany i think, they will bring it to 2.3.4 soon.
I've bought my PRO on eBay, it's from Germany and it has a Vodafone ROM. I'm from Spain and there is no plan to sell this phone here, maybe the PRO+.
You say the PRO will be officially available in October. Unlocked and free phone? Without any operator or something similar? It means that we can acces to the original sbf for european version?

wifi problem solution Xperia Arc

Ay guys
Well as I saw you are in trouble with wifi Xperia Arc, I have gone through it and a
I am one of the Staff Forum in Brazil, so I'm talking about using Google Translator. Because I share with you
the solution of this problem.
It's simple, like everyone here should already be in version 2.3.4 and with at least one root installed or CWM, and this download version 2.3.3 0368 android forum available baseband and 36, first do a full wipe and the CWM after the flash FW then FlashTool Baseband so you come back to Android 2.3.3, and the wifi is perfect. The reason the error wifi, some people do not have this problem because they came with the 2.3.3 appliance factory came on my 2.3.2 and when he got straight to the updated 2.3.4 2.3.3 thus bypassing the , we skip the update it has a package to fix the problem wifi, so doing this will downgrade the package installed and wifi working perfectly, I did here and it worked perfectly.
Sorry for my English (translator: D)
hopefully they can too: D

[Q] Why won't my Beast Running UBKK2 Update?

Since I received my N7000 on November 17, 2011 from Mobilecityonline my Galaxy Note won't update. It's running UBKK2 - the CSC is TTT - which a Brazilian CSC.
I've searched every thread and correctly followed every step of the process I've found unsuccessfully, I've tried the manual update and receive "no update available" every time I read about a new firmware release. The CSC is listing only 3 codes; VNO, TTT, and TDR - I installed each one of these CSC codes in an attempt to prompt a software update to no avail. I haven't even gotten the update from January that provided the addition of the Torch & everything that came with it!
Short of rooting my Note is there anything I can do to either change the CSC Code to one that receives updates regularly or manually update the firmware? I thought I'd wait until ICS became available hoping that would correct these issues but I'm slowly getting PO'd that I may not be even to receive ICS.
Plus I didn't/don't see the reason to have rooted by now - I've rooted all of my Android devices from HTC EVO 4G's & 3D's, Nook Color, to Asus Transformers. Is there anything I can do without rooting this beast and will I even receive Ice Cream Sandwich?
I'm begging for help please. I'd sincerely appreciate ANY help and I'm willing to donate to anyone that will help achieve everything I'm missing out on to date.
Thank you in advance,
Jim G.
If keeping it stock is all you want, just download one of the stock firmwares and flash it with odin.
You may have to be a member to see this link but.....

^^^
They are the South Amercian firmwares currently out, but the European ones are newer if you want to try those.
Wow that was fast!
Wow! Thank you for the super fast reply. Can I D/L and use any stock firmware, I was hoping to use either the UK or German versions cuz they look like they get updates more often than the rest. If I'm wrong I stand corrected - could you please point out a version to use or am I stuck using the BZ version forever?
Oh Lord I hope not! * Forgive me - I saw you suggested the EU versions after I hurried to reply, my fault! *
Again, Thank You in advance,
Jim G.
Brazil Note.
I too have a Note with a ROM from Brazil. Since this is my first Android phone and I'm a noob so far, what will it take to get mine over to a euro one. Will this brick my phone? What region do you recommend for a US user? I understand that you meant Europe, but there a lot of choices like open, open euro or open germany or europ or german. Any directions or advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks.
flshing a firmware for another region is fine... I offen just update to whereever has the newest update
But if i update to a stock rom from another country without changing csc, will i be able to update via kies whenever a newer csc update gets release online for my country? I got this ideia it wont be possible and will still need to change it again via Odin. It bother me if it wipes my phone each time i update. Still in kka/5 here with unlocked phone...

After updating to another regions ROM, You can just Odin back to the original stock ROM if you really wanted to, to restore KIES function for the original configuration.
But to be honest, the only time I ever have, is just for warranty purposes, I don't touch kies in any shape or form, there really is no need.
The way I work is, I like to use the stock ROMs, but rooted etc... So, when I got the phone, I rooted it, put the ClockWorkMod Recovery (CWM) on and now I just update my ROM with the repacked stock versions made to be flashed with CWM. They are exactly the same ROMs but rooted and deodexed, some I "believe" are multi CSC too.
Swyped from my finger, to your face on my Samsung Galaxy Note, using Tapatalk!
Thank you for all the help! I'm choosing to use the open-Germany (DBT) stock ROM cuz I've been keeping track of the ROM that was updated the most. I found it to be the German and UK versions but it seems the open-German edges it out.
I've got it all D/L'd and am actually waiting to get my notebook up and running after a CPU upgrade. Once I receive the thermal paste updating my Beast is the 1st order of business!
It sucks that the UBKK2 firmware never allowed any kind of an update, it makes me wonder if I'd even get the ICS update when it's released on March 15 or shortly thereafter. Of course that's according to the rumor mill and I'm simply referring to that since the SGSII's received their ICS earlier today according to SanFirnware.
So who knows? Again, I thank everyone fir their help and input.
