Nand Restore taking too long? - EVO 4G General

Just ran a nand restore after a few failed attempts to update my PRI, but anyhow its been running for over 30 mins now and has not finished.

I would say its not going to finish.
It should only take a few minutes at most to restore/backup...
Pull the battery and try again..

thanks

Ok thanks for the move...now can anyone help me out here?...thanks
Boot into recovery and wipe then reapply the rom and see what happens. The first initial boot after a rom flash does take about a min or so longer than after the first boot.
Tried that a couple of time..just hangs on Android screen...and wont turn off unless i pull the battery.
If the phone is frozen I suggest you put it over a nice warm fire..... Turn it every 2-3 minutes until phone is warm to the touch.
NOW THIS IS THE IMPORTANT PART, you must sit on the phone and let it intubate.... after it hatchs wrap it in a hot towel and show it lot of love.

Try to boot into RA recovery using adb, and then flash it with a cooked rom.

Just flashed the radio, is it safe to pull out the battery?

Sorry for seeming like such a newb, I just received my N1 today. But I was in on the G1 scene and the Cliq scene as well.
I unlocked my bootloader and loaded on the new recovery no problem.
I flashed the radio in fastboot, the passion one on Cyanogen's forum.
send and writing both went OKAY.
Rebooted, and it's been stuck on the nexus logo with the padlock for about 5-10 minutes... I'm scared to pull out the battery to try again.
If it's been that long you don't have a choice. It's hung.

Just checking if it was safe-- on my cliq the actual radio flashing process if I'm not mistaken didn't occur until a reboot.
and I remember when upgrading my G1 from Android 1.5 to 1.6 took FOREVER to reboot... so yeah just checking if this was normal and expected.
Thanks.

pulled the battery and it rebooted just fine.
Now it's time to flash some Cyanogen.

Reflashing stock rom desire HD

So Im trying to reflashing stock, but after 15 mins it is still saying "sending", i am getting worried and i am scared as hell to unplug my phone, what do i do, wait longer or is there any option i can do?
EDIT: Im sorry for panicking.. it just started to reflash the rom.. god that was scary that it took 26 minutes to send the whole rom x_x.. (it is flashing now..)

solved

Hi all, i have a problem... my phone wont boot when i press power button it just shows the i5800 screen, BUT i can get to download mode but that wont help because i flashed again with odin and it said "passed" but its stuck on i5800 screen. i have tried everything... it all started today when my phone fell from my pocket and the battery flew out. so i think it might be broken or something. if you know what to do please help
EDIT: it seems i can flash eclair but when ever i try to flash ANY custom ROM (POX, indroid, lestatious, kyrillos) it stucks on the i5800 screen...

this is not the same... it fell out of my pocket and never booted again
super bump please help!
try shaking the phone
keep it near your ears and shake
if you hear some sounds then maybe something is broken
roll back to eclair and try updating via kies-that may help a lot
if updated - take to service center
even if not
take to service center and tell them i never used kies so not on froyo(if they ask)
One more thing
Do this all after some time of no flashing, rooting, anything like that to the phone
let it be as it is for some time
sometimes this really helps(hpnd wid me)

what will i say to them? sorry i cant install any C-ROM only stock eclair can you fix it? i mean they have to repair it because i pay 4e month so they will repair it no matter what... but still that would sound pretty dump if i go there and say: help me i cant install any C-ROM
Have you tried the usual as in taking the battery out for a minute, wiping data/cache + factory reset? Then trying to install as stock JPM? And have you just waited for several minutes for it to go past the I5800 screen? If it takes a moment for it to gather its bearings after a sudden drop.

As we Finns would say at this point... Perkele! It is dead, man. One last resort is stock JPM. Maybe you need to risk it and stick in the bootloader aswell...
Try flashing an earlier FroYo version like JP9 and then flash JPM or some other new version.

the solution was simple i bought a new sd-card and BAM, my phone booted with froyo i dont know what was wrong but my phone just wont boot if theres sd-card inside... maybe its because it fell from my pocket, something broke and now it wont boot with sd inside

well, I don't think so....today I tried the "freezer trick"....10 minutes in the freezer to make the phone cold, I have read that there are some issues with overheating, but rom wouldn't boot....stuck at htc bootscreen....
in my case there is no hardware issue, I think...I gift it to my friend that told me he's going to full wipe the nand (I don't know how), and I'm waiting now...

Hi throcker, maybe you could share some events before your phone went to fatal hit? At least maybe someone like me would know what will be the signs to look out for so that we'll be prepared to backup our information. It would be much appreciated. E.g Maybe you've flashed for the 15th time or 50th time....or the phone started to reboot often than usual....

yeah, I flashed about.....30 times roms, but I don't think that's the problem....I'm sure that someone flashed at least 200 times without issues...
I was running stock miui...clock 254/1190...that day I played fpse for 3 hours, plugged in charger...yeah I cranked the processor and used the phone intensely, but don't think that this may be the cause...
well, I had the phone in my pocket, took that and saw "1e fatal hit 1"....
than I did everything you can read at fist post, task 29, flash, reflash, ecc ecc.....
I have to say that my battery has no more long life....
guys, putting your phones in a freezer won't help

HAHAHAHAH well, I read that a guy with overheating issues had to put his hd2 in the freezer for boot...and it worked just putting it! XD...and next the service replaced his motherboard...come on is funny, I just tried...
but....let's get serious...my friend told me that I have problems with my internal memory, and it can't boot roms...it's strange, magldr works, and also the native recovery....I don't know if I can believe him...
tomorrow or next I will bring my phone to the customer service...I'm tired to try all the day....
no way, I'm replacing the motherboard....
I don't know what is the cause...so, guys who got this error...if the fridge trick wont help (lol) keep prepared to replace and renew your phone...
I get the exact same error!! Damn fatal hit!! I want to add that for me the first time I flashed the ROM it worked perfectly fine. I used it for about a day and then in the afternoon sometime it rebooted and got stuck on the HTC logo..Im going to try and reflash magldr and rom. Hopefully that works

You need to disassemble the motherboard and put it in a oven at 180ÂșC for 12 minutes. .It may seem scary but it will work. . Trust me. . Only the motherboard. .
