been poking my nose around the stock 02 1.6 Rom (since i can't get a hold of the At&t rom) and zipped the audio folder.
So here are the Alarms, Notifications, Ring tones and UI audio files for that rom, just in case anyone needed them...
Thanks for that

I've been trying and trying and i just cant figure it out, can someone help me? I am using the standard alarm clock on my att 8525 and those default sounds are not as loud as i would like them to be.
Is There a way i can add my own music files as the alarm sound??
This definitely was explained in the FAQ (though I'm not sure in which one ).
Shortly put, ringtones go to \Windows\Rings, and all remaining sounds merely go to \Windows. According to my experience the former surely supports MP3 sounds and the latter supports WAV (I didn't experiment with MP3 there).
pocket wakeUp you can put any file to wake mp3 wav
There is a regedit (most cooked ROMs include it now) that allows regular ringtones to be put on the root of your mem card, which will speed up your phone.
As far as alarms, from my experience mp3s do not work, they gotta be wav. Just drop em in the /windows folder.
Hi
Ive just upgraded from the HTC titan to the Blackstone. Im just wondering how i can set my alarm to custom mp3 tracks i have on my phone, as i cannot find a way to do it.
thanks a lot
Convert your favorite music files to *.wav and copy to "Windows" folder.
also Galarm and Klaxon are great substitues for an alarm (you can map them to the clock on the home page via SSMaPa)
thanks a lot. ill try those other two aswell
The Orange ROM in the UK contains an "MP3-Trimmer" app which is very easy to use, and saves the trimmed files into your My Documents / Ringtones folder - so I think you should be able to find them automatically within the alarms drop down.
Apologies if this has been asked but I've not found a thread so far for this problem.
I am using rom 1.61 and recently decided to add different ringtones to my most common contacts. The ringtones are just normal MP3 files, eg some are songs, some are stuff like TV theme tunes etc. They all play perfectly in any of the media players like coreplayer etc.
But when any person with a personalised ringtone calls me, I get no ringtone at all. The phone vibrates, and the speaker is on & volume turned up, but no sound plays.
Anyone know if this is a fault, or is there a setting I have missed or something?
Thanks
Jim
i had this problem with the same rom but i found that setting the ringtone through file explorer seemed to sort it out
Don't think that will help will it mate?
You can only set the current overall ringtone like that, and the problem I've got is that ringtones set that are different for various people do not play.
Actually, I just found something out, that when I've set these personalised ones for different people it has set itself as a default tone just to vibrate.
I've changed it to a proper ringtone now, but I'll have to get a friend to call me to see if this works now. I have a suspicion there's more to it than this......
Bump! Anyone?
In the root of your SD card create the following folders
Notifications
Ringtones
Alarms
In these folders put your favourite MP3 files. You can now use these MP3 files as per the topic.
Notifications - Message tones and Notification tones
Ringtones - Your phone ringtones
Alarms - Your alarm mp3s
Using these folders there is no need to play the MP3 files first in Music Player.
Hope this is useful for other newbies like myself.
Thanks for your info.
It will help for newbies.
Is there a way to delete the ringtones converted with the audioplayer. I guess they are copied to the internal memory of the phone, aren't they?
Thanks mobisat, it's useful
txt tones
Hi im new to all this android lark and im having trouble with my htc desire, i just cannot change my txt tones, my question is thats ive downloaded zedge with loads of good tones but i cannot use them! if the blonde bit stays at bay for a bit and i manage to create a folder for my sd card can i put into that file my zedge tones? Ive notice people talking about putting mp3's in there for the phone, but all i want to do is use the txt tones that are already on my phone! Even the original ones wont load up to use, every time i set them and get someone to txt me it goes straight back to "chiff" ...........its driving me nuts and im just not up to much to play around with this fone........besides im worried i might do some serious damage to the software
thanks for your help folks and im sorry if ive jumped to a new thread thats already somewhere else, i just couldnt find help anywhere
I updated to an Energy Rom and now I'm having to refigure out how to use my mp3s as ringtones, notifications and such. I can't figure out how to make the mp3s show up in the alarm section. I've looked thru the windows folder and the ring folder, I even put my ringtones in my document folder. With the stock rom I just made a .wav and copied it into the windows folder, with the energy rom that no longer works for any ringtones or notifications.
Jesse
alarms i believe have to be regular wave files, and i think under 5mb, though it could be smaller so but dont quote me on that number. It was a tutorial i saw somewhere for the HD2. Just put the wave file in the windows folder than it will show up.
