Annoying MotoConnect after Froyo Upgrade - Droid X General

Upgraded and now everytime I connect via USB Mass Storage the MotoConnect would prompt me for installation even tho I installed it after its first prompt. Out of the box with 2.1 it only prompted me once and never showed up again after I installed it.
Anyone have a fix for this?

Interesting to say the least...
If it were my situation I would deleted Moto drivers them reload them again, kind of a pain, but not to bad. I did it myself today.
It seem that some PC's can't see the DroidX in the device manager so a reinstall of the drivers did help me.
Hope it helps
TRY THIS FIRST!!!! switch usb ports.

put the phone into debug mode?
i know i didnt see the drivers cause my phone was always in debug and it nvr popped up.
so after i installed drivers i put my phone back into debug and i nvr see it pop

putting it in debug mode worked, thanks

might be worth going to settings > storage and touching the 3 little squares in the top right of the screen. check that MTP is turned on.

USB debugging enabled?
You are in MTP Mode?
With some drivers, I found through trial and error that if it was enabled the phone would be recognized, turn it off and it was.
I ended up installing the universal naked driver and now all is good for either mode.

Thanks. I'm tryng everithing possible and I can't. I think I have naked drivers installed version 7.0.0.1.
I did it.
Installing the naked drivers I choose in update controler --> select controller and then I select mtp. Windows 7 installs the mtp drivers and I can see the folder of my internal memory.
I didn't know what I must do these to can install the drivers.
Thanks and sorry for my english!
As long as it working it's all good :good:

Motorola Driver Install Unsuccessfull

I've tried multiple builds of the Motorola drivers, they install but when I plug in my device is says that the drivers were not successfully installed. Does anyone now of a fix for this? I'm on a windows 7 laptop
Try using a USB 2 port and the cable that came with the phone.

Hmm, try going into device manager and uninstalling the drivers that are there and plug the phone back in and try to get it to auto install. If you use fastboot and recovery much, you also need to boot into each one of those and plug the phone into the computer so the appropriate driver will install for each of those.
Actually, one of the USB ports seemed to have installed the drivers successfully.

I found what the problem. The networking interface has to do with tethering correct? Any have any idea what could be causing this? I'm using the latest Motorola drivers now

That probably won't install until you put it into tethering mode. However, it shouldn't affect anything as far as using fastboot or having your computer detect the phone.

Motorola connect

Anyone have this working on WIFI or LTE?
Works for me on WiFi with both Chrome on Windows 8.1 and on my Chromebook.
Just tested and it works on LTE too
app continues to say connecting on the phone... any ideas?
Yeah, not working here yet either...mine says "Talking to your phone" but never gets further.
UPDATE: Finally kept playing around with it until a button came up on the phone to turn connect on in Chrome on the computer (I had already previously done that on the computer multiple times) so when I hit that button in connect on the phone, the computer extension finally connected. Go figure. All is working fine now.
The pc just says could not connect to phone. Could this be art?
So what worked was to unlink the gmail id from the connect service... now it works. Also the app constantly stops, meaning i have to start the connect app on the phone for it to be persistent. Anyway to change this? i suspect OOM, but just asking.
Also not compatible with the ART runtime...confirmed and switched back to Dalvik

I would disagree, I'm running ART and Motorola connect is working perfectly fine. Pic/screenshot below for proof. Disregard the names/phone numbers if I forgot to block any out.

Can charge over USB but not able to connect to transfer files or via ADB even in recovery?

Hi, I have a rooted X Compact that's running on Lineage OS with twrp recovery. Can anyone give me any tips on how to debug this if there's any solution? I noticed I no longer can connect via USB. I'm on Linux and I don't see the device on lsusb or adb devices. I don't have access to a windows device at the moment . Even when I go to recovery and try to mount is there it's not working or showing up. Any ideas how to debug this or what could be going on? Thanks.

I've got a same problem with my X Compact. I think it's the charge port. I'm replacing it next week and will let you know if it solves the issue.
Dave
Hi. I have now replaced the USB 'C' port and my Xperia is now visible as shown. I'm using Windows 10.
