Remove T-mobile branding - Vibrant General

Is there away to remove the T-mobile start-up and shut-down screen? I tried searching for de-branding and un-branding but nothing.

Some of the lagfix apps have them removed

are you talking about the one that is always on the top part of the phone, you can just use a scraper for that (but be careful)

Yes, I've done it on my phone. The shutdown animation is very simple and you can customize it if you want. The bootup is a little bit more difficult in that you can only replace the Tmo animation with the default Galaxy S animation, but cannot customize it.
Shutdown:

Bootup:

I ended up using Root Explorer to manually move these files. (/system/media and /video)

UNlock screen ...?doesn't work anymore

Hi guys.
I searched a lot in the forum but I didn't find something useful... my slide unlock is disappeared!!! even when the black screen is on, the slide doesn't work anymore. the sense appears automatically... even if I push the on/off button... boh
I installed some programs, like dutty taskmanager, 20 tabs and others, but not so heavy...
is there anybody able to help me?
thx a lot
have you tried a hard reset? Seems like the only thing you can do.
Assuming you are running ROM 1.48 you need to click Start>Lock and then the lock screen will work properly until the next time you do a soft reset.

Hi, does anyone know of a way to get your messages to automatically open when recieving a text, or some other visual notification for that matter? I'm new to windows mobile and I keep missing the small new message green icon!

Yeah.
Thank you jakem: I didn't know that after a soft reset I have to to that operation...
It works.... sometimes things are easier than they seem...
Thanks a lot!!!
I had the same issue as well after I had installed several programs. What I have noticed so far, was that after I installed Dutty's task manager, I've seen a process called 'Start'. When that was running, the lock screen didn't work. When I closed it via Dutty's task manager, the lock screen appeared automatically again! Don't know what the 'Start' process comes from though, but when closing it, it helped for me.

lock not working
install bsb tweaks and select auto lock, them when you press the hang up button/end call button the phone will then lock as it did out the box.
i had the same problem, it dissapeared after doin a few reg tweaks and istalling a few .cabs etc
I got the same problem yesterday! I made a lot of registry tweaks and cant unlock my htc with the slider anymore..
But i found my solution, the tweak for user information was it!!
I deleted all entries in user information and disabled it, and now i can unlock my htc with the slider again..

Happened to me after I installed the SMS patch from HTC. All of my settings changed. Had to do a hard reset and will forgo the SMS patch.
happened to me as well after adding and tweaking, i found that when i turned the power saving to off, on BsB Tweaks, it came back after a soft reset?

This is true for me aswell. I to did alot of tweaking and such, wich made my slider non functional. I then did a ROM upgrade, and did all the tweaking I had done before, only to find out it was Owner Information that was the sinner.
Wich I got from here: [REF] *Leo Hints & Tips* Under HTC Leo: HD2 > HD2 General section. 5. Enable Hidden Owner Info in All Settings\Personal Folder
Go to HKLM\ControlPanel\Owner and change Hide from 1 to 0 and then reset. You can now enter your name you want to register old apps.
I unticked show Owner Information, and the slider unlocks my phone again. But anyways, is there anyone who know if it's possible to get this to work, with Owner Information shown at wakeup AND the slider actually unlocking my phone?
Damn I just ran into this. Enabled show owner info and notes at startup, now slider unlock doesn't unlock to get into the screen. No way to get into the phone unless a hard reset?
am using my US Tmobile HD2 tonight and a blank Screen came um couldnt get to Home Screen.. and no buttons worked so i removed the battery then restart the phone it ask me for my pass word.. i try typing my password it keep saying "incorrect password" dang this sucks!
and when i hhit unlock nothing happens most of the times

How to get rid of "interactive" on start menu?

I have a t-mobile sim, and i think its a SIM thing as this happens in every rom i have tried, including stock.
I cant delete the bloody "interactive" icon at the root of the start menu.
Yes i can move it, but i always get a new copy anyway
Yes i can delete it, but it always comes back
Yes i can set its properties to Hidden, but that makes no difference.
any ideas how to make the bloody thing bog off?

Use BsB Tweaks and set "STK Service" to off. Once you've restarted you can then delete the shortcut and it won't reappear.
Hope this helps

lock screen missing

hi all...
the lock screen on my hd2 has gone missing... pressing the red button directly brings me into the sense UI... any suggestions what went wrong?
thanks!
any help with above issue pls?
Have you recently installed then uninstalled a custom lockscreen? Look at my sticky (link in my sig) and towards the bottom of the first post you'll see some attached cabs. download the one that says Lockscreen HD2 original then install it. It should bring you back to normal.

hi there...
i did stumble upon your sticky and downloaded the lockscreen HD2 original cab file yesterday itself. I have soft reset the device after the installation but still there is no lock screen. Once the device boots up its directly in the Sense UI. Anything else I can do to fix OR might have done wrong?
Thanks for your input!
** Also, to answer your question, no i have not installed or uninstalled any custom lockscreen.. I am still in the learning stages of flashing a ROM and once I get comfortable with all the steps involved, I'll take the plunge but at this point the device is in stock condition except for the apps I have installed. Thanks

Thanks for the link - it kind of helped, which is to say - when i go to start menu and tap on "lock" it does lock the screen but after unlocking it when i press the red button to shut the display and again press it the lockscreen doesnt come up.. i'd hate to click twice before I press the red button only to make sure it doesnt come to life and call my aunt while in my pocket :-/
I tried reinstalling the cab from your sticky to the device (coz I wasnt sure where i had installed it previously) but the problem persists and No I havent installed any BSB or any other tweaks (atleast not intentionally)
So when you go to start , etc, then lock, after you unlock it you're presented with the lock screen Options. Are those set accordingly? Once set, it'll ask you to save changes, then click ok in top right corner.

Do you have cookies home tab/chteditor or bsb tweaks installed? If you do that might be causing the fail.

No I dont. I dont have any of those installed. I want to install the cookies but havent installed any mods yet. The only things I've installed on there are apps.
One of them being Resco Explorer which has a Task manager with it. Could that have made my screen disappear?

Once you go to the start menu, select SETTINGS. Then tap the MENU soft key in the bottom right and select ALL SETTINGS. You should see LOCK in the top-right. Tap it, this locks your screen. Immediately unlock. You are now at the LOCKSCREEN OPTIONS page. Set accordingly. Save. Tap OK in top right. Done. Drink a beer.

I already tried this before.. Tapping on the Lock icon in the "ALL SETTINGS" does not lock the screen. Instead, it directly takes me to the password screen (maybe what you referred to as lockscreen options) where my first choice is a checkbox for "Prompt if phone unused for ___ mins and the other option is to choose a password.
Yeah that's the stuff. That's where you enable it. Check the box, set the password (pin).
Sorry for not realizing you had been there. If setting and saving those options doesn't work, not sure what to tell you.
Are you connected to an exchange server?
(you have to make sure after you hit the obvious SAVE button that pops up, you have to hit the OK button in the top right the screen.)

I have an un-rooted, stock Evo with the most recent update, with Sense. Problem is that the clock/weather 'icon' on the home page appears to have disappeared. I can't think of anything I did to make it disappear, but it is gone but everything else is the same. I restarted my phone but it's still gone. Anyone know what I may have done to cause this or how I can get the clock/weather back on the home page? Thanks!

You cant add it back from the menu/add to home/widget/Clock(HTC) ?????
Sometimes when you have the phone on, you can accidentally drag the clock in the remove tray

It's an error in custom animations I have uploaded, since I haven't created animations I can't fix it, but if its bothering you so much, you can flash stock animations just for lockscreen, it should fix it.

I wasn't aware that the problem was with the custom animations... good to know.... but I don't think that the problem is really severe enough to pay much mind to it.
I'm moving this to General because it's not really development related.
Not sure this is on topic but i'll give it a go.
My phone has just updated to 2.2.1 (thanks vodafone) and now has a new unlock screen when it first wakes up. This involve two sliders, one that appears to be a screen unlock, and the other something to do with silent/volume.
The phone unlock would e good, if i couldn't just press the menu button a second time to achieve the same end. Can the menu button be cancelled, in order to make the unlock bar useful?
Also, is the other slider bar customisable?
Failing this, is there anywhere that actually goes through all of the main changes, so I can educate myself?
Cheers, Steve

I can't find anything under settings about Cyangenmod but my system info says:-
Android version 2.2.1
Baseband 62.50sj.20.17u_2.22.28.25
kernal 2.6.32.9-27237-gbe746fb
build number FRG83D
Does this narrow it down?
If it helps, settings wallpapers, does not then send me off to animated wallpapers. So maybe it's not a full 2.2.1 because vodafone realise that they stripped out too much memory/cpu originally that its not man enough to run some stuff.
Cheers.

I am just confused. Put it this way. In order to wake up the phone and start using it, I press the menu button. This opens up the unlock screen, cool.
Here's the problem, do I now move my thumb from the menu button and swipe it across the screen to unlock my phone..........or do I just press the menu button again. It does the same thing. So what is the point of the unlock swipe?

I suppose depending on the circumstances it might be easier to press a button that you can feel than something on a touchscreen that you can't.
There have been times when I have been wearing my gloves at work that the touchscreen doesn't respond to well while wearing them. However hitting the menu button works fine for exiting the lock screen.
How's that for an acceptable answer?
