Not sure if it matters, but do you have USB debugging on and checked to allow installation from "unknown sources?"

Yes, the flash clockwork option. Do you have root? The stock rom doesn't.

What ROM are you running?
i think he was trying to do idiot proof like me but the link to the clockwork recovery went down so we both have the one that was included after we rooted (the one that dosent show all app in market). So basically we have no recovery to flash new roms. My adb isnt working either.
we also have no idea how to give rom manager SU permissions
sounds about right. stock rom since I cant flash a rom.
Upss..sorry! Find solution on other thread..please,delete this post

ROM Manager won't find latest ClockworkMod Recovery

I couldn't find the answer in any other thread but my ROM Manager shows that 2.5.0.1 is the latest CW Mod recovery available. I know 2.5.0.5 is out but I am wondering why ROM Manager won't see it. Does anyone else have this issue?
Because there is no fake flash version of 2.5.0.5.

From what I understand, and correct me if I'm wrong, koush would take the flash recovery image and create a 'fake flash' update.zip and flash the recovery that way. An update.zip for 2.5.0.5 has not been made yet. Since we have S-OFF now we can reflash recovery without having to do the fake flash method. I believe koush just has to update his ROM Manager to do so.

I know it says .1 but if you ran the .5 try looking at what it says when you do a nandroid backup. It should say .5. Mine does.
Ok I understand a little better now. Thanks

one side note if you boot into recovery from ROM manager it will show .1, but if you Boot into recovery using the power and vol down button it shows up as the new .5

Interesting. Well I haven't ran .5 yet I was just wondering why it wasn't showing up in ROM Manager. Thanks for the answers guys!
Another question, not entirely related to ROM Manager, I have is that I've noticed when I do a nandroid backup within CWMod the date and time are wrong. When I do a backup via ROM Manager, it shows the correct date and time. Is there a way to set CWMod's clock?

[Q] ROM Manager doesnt recognize CWM

I used wugfresh to root my N4 and manually got cwm recovery. Now when i try to use ROM manager it doesnt recognize recognize that i have CWM installed. Is there anyway to fix this or do i have to flash cwm again thru ROM manager?

Accidentally wiped OS from phone

I accidentally wiped my OS from my phone when I wasn't paying attention. All recoveries wiped as well. It will not boot past startup screen. Odin v3.07 and 3.09 both display FAIL when I try to flash the stock ROM back. I am using a G900P. Help?
How do you accidentally wipe an OS from a phone?
You're putting the phone in download mode for ODIN right?

Yes. It recognizes my phone as plugged in but keeps displaying a FAIL message when flashing, Also I'm running Android 5.0.
Try this
http://forum.xda-developers.com/spr...in-sm-g900p-oa6-official-restore-rom-t3022826
If you're putting your phone into Download Mode you should be able to flash a custom recovery onto it (such as TWRP - the one I personally use.)
Try flashing that onto your device then flash a ROM through TWRP - You can mount your phone and SD card onto a PC through this, allowing for you to access the devices file system here.
Then, if you really wanted to, you can go through Samsung Kies on your PC and restore back to the original TouchWiz ROM from Samsung. It'll ask you to verify your device and ask you to put it into download mode but not sure if you'd want to go back to stock.
If you need any more help, just ask here and I'll give you a hand.

It's quite basic, you simply just go into TWRP and select what you want to be mounted to the computer from the custom recovery. If you need more help here, just let me know.

Also, in download mode I'm not sure if you can access the devices file system through Windows / OS X - Never tried, but I'm assuming it works - Don't quote me on that tho haha.

No, that's what ADB is for, but the device needs to be booted for ADB, download mode is just for flashing with ODIN

If you wiped the OS, you have no reason for adb
Use my link to flash a rom, or use ODIN and a stock rom

You still have TWRP working?
Flash a custom ROM

Required recovery file

Hi guyz. First of all i would like to thank you all for helping me everytime i ask for some help. Now after rooting I want to install the TWRP recovery on my E500H running on android 5.1.1 build number LMY47X.E500HXXU1BPL2. So can anyone suggest me the required twrp file so that i can flash it using flashify. Also i have a question in mind :-
Is it neccessary to install a custom kernel before installing custom recovery after rooting or i can directly install custom recovery without installing custom kernel?
Hope to get another help soon

Turn on usb debugging and go to download mode.
And install twrp via odin.
No need to get custom kernel
