[Q] Copying Language Input Keyboard From Another ROM. Possible? - Galaxy S I9000 General

Hi everyone,
I recently modded my Samsung Galaxy S and I really like the changes, it's much faster and a lot of problems have been fixed. However, the ROM I installed doesn't allow for Chinese Language Input (Chinese Keyboard). As I live and work in Asia I require a flexible language input method for Chinese, like the one that came with the device originally. I have the original firmware ROM, and I'm just wondering if it's possible to extract the parts I need from it to install the Samsung Chinese Input keyboards?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
P.S. The root is SU.

I have not run into any Korean language related developers on this xda forums yet.
I was able to install and run Korean language with help from some of Korean HD2 users group forum,
but that was when I had Touch Pro 2 phone.
Now, I bought HD2 last week and have been trying to Koreanized(한글화) my HD2 with no success.
NO, I take it back. I was 75% successful on HD2 compares to Touch Pro 2.
I was using HD2 method on The Touch Pro 2 and got 99% working.
Only a few menu items are not in Korean and input method was excellent in both Korean and English.
I've posted results of Touch Pro 2 on this link. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=644091
Now, with my new HD2, most of bottom menus are unreadable (small squares) and input methods locks up in Korean and can't type English.
I've posted problems and only recomendations so far is to soft reset up to 3 times. I have soft reset many times. Still NO GO.
PHP:
This is one of Korean HD2 forum.http://www.mymits.net/zboard/zboard....page=2&no=5757
Perhaps, You'll have a better luck. (Good Luck )
Please post with any results you'll get. It would be greatly useful to everyone whom seeks for Koreanized (is this a word? )
How to install Korean language on HD2
Hi All,
I was gonna edit prior post, then it may get messy so here is another post.
I've tried installing Korean language on my HD2 for couple of days and finally made it happen. WooHoo
I was having troubles because I tried staying with roms I liked. Then I finally gave up and installed "Lost in Asia" rom.
The Lost in Asia rom is already multi-language (Eng. and Chinese). Therefore (I believe) it had necessary files to accept Korean installation.
After the installation of rom Lost in Asia, I've installed 1 to 6 of MyMits Korean installation steps then I've installed Moa key cab and WALA. All main menus are changed to Korean.
Let me see if I can help you guys out...I'm Korean myself and had been trying to install Korean language support on my hd2 t-mo US for awhile now. Now...I'm not sure exactly what you wanted...the ability to read Korean font and text in Korean font? Or...like the previous poster, are you trying to change the entire UI (menu's, etc) on your hd2 to complete Korean?
If that's the case you will probably have to install the lost in asia rom...I'm almost positive with other rom versions or stock US rom's it's just not possible, but don't quote me on that.
If you want the ability to read Korean font and message (type in Korean) go here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=646728
Follow those steps...download and install the Korean font .cab => than install the moakey .cab
Than go into start menu -> settings -> personal -> input settings and change it to moakey. You can change the settings on moakey to your tastes as well.
Don't forget you can hold down the keyboard icon when typing to open up the message options screen and you can switch back and forth between the different message input methods on the fly.
I'm personally using the newest version of Energyrom April 1st, hspl2, T-Mo US w/ no issues.
One other thing to note, you can definitely read Korean fonts now...but when you put mp3's etc into media player or core player (whatever you use) alot of the Korean titles won't display properly...it's not because the K-language support isn't working, it's just that those programs need separate K-language support.
Hope this helps =_) 좋은 하루~!!
thnks all!!!!

official HD 2 typing keyboard

Hi, I changed the rom to the energy rom recently, but I seem the original keyboard and chinese writing system is the best. Who can help me? I want to install again the original keyboard ar!

You can look into flashing to the Korean firmware, I don't know the risks, so do so at your own risk. I think I read in one of these forums that it is compatible with the I9000 and that people will be looking to flash to it when FroYo comes out for it head of the I9000....again, look into it, but I won't know what to tell you about Japanese & how safe it is in the end.
I have the Korean firmware & handset and there is no native support for Japanese.
From the FAQ:
23.Can I get Asian language support in the European firmwares?
There is (as of now) no way to reintegrate Asian language support in the European firmwares. The possibility may exist in the future, however, there are currently no devs working on it. There is of course always the possibility to flash back to an Asian firmware. Note that this means that you cannot set the interface to Asian languages (except Korean). You can still receive and send text messages in chinese/japanes etc (you will only need a new keyboard that supports inputting characters)

[Q] So I installed custom ROM..

So I installed a Custom Rom, but now I cant find my language on the swype-settings. Is it any way to install this again?

I don't think so.
/Feras - Galaxy Tab
Some developers leave that stuff out because the file space is a little tight. What rom is this, as a warning to others needing that language?
Go to the market and see if the more locale app will give you your language.
I have the same issue. I tried both roto-jmi and r1 modaco custom and i lost my original input methods. More locale seems to only allow me to change the os language but it does not allow me to change the input language.
It would be extremely helpful if someone could chime in and help identify the language input packages.

I flashed JMG, and JMI, but went back to JME v.4 for the languages. With previous phones I have removed the swype language locale from the old rom and moved it into the new rom. I searched xda for a while until I found out how.
You can get a keyboard app from the market, maybe you can get your preferred language.
Thx for the info. If you happend across that thread would you mind sending the link my way. Otherwise it looks like I need to spend more time digging.
Cheers

[Q] Right to left language support

I'm new to this, so I apologize if this has been discussed before.
I am trying to get Hebrew support on my phone. Any existing hebrew and hebrew that I type comes out backwards. I'd like to avoid rooting/modding, or whatever since I'm scared of destroying the phone, unless of course there is no other way to do it.
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks
I have the same RTL problem. I live in Israel and I need Hebrew support. Stock 2.2 versions have Hebrew support so SMS messages are displayed correctly. New 2.3 stock ROMs lack this support. They have the fonts, but Hebrew is displayed left-to-right. Is there any way to add Hebrew support to 2.3 ROM? If not, which custom ROMs have good Hebrew support?
Hi,
I think i have a solution.
Download and explores apk Swiftkey X
Keyboard isn't the problem. The problem is how the text is displayed.
RtL support: FIXED
After scouring the internet with no viable solution, I decided to join the world of rooting and modding/Romming (?). I read as much as I could and was as careful as possible. The solution? I rooted my phone and installed ClockWorkMod and CyanogenMod7. It has Hebrew built in and can switch back and forth easily. Built in keyboard also has the option to change languages by sliding the spacebar. I will post step by step soon. It's been over a week and so far everything is working fine. I would suggest backing up your current ROM (after you install CWM but before CM7) just in case.
