So I thought it was the size of the pictures I was taking, so I changed that, but nobody is able to receive my picture messages, they are getting some weird message about it not being able to be sent...
This is happening on a 3g connection. Does anyone know why this may be happening? Thanks!
I'm going through the same thing. Sucks. I'm going to post on google code as Wes suggested.

Generally I'm able to get MMS messages - but for some reason I have one person that sends me one that just won't download. Seems odd because I'm able to get them from other people - but just not this one person. Anyone have any clues as to what could be causing this?
Thanks!

Are they by chance sending you media from a Blackberry?
As matter of fact...yes he does have a blackberry.
Anyone else have problems with this? My MT4G keeps trying to put the pictures in a "slideshow" or something, and I either get error messages when trying to send the pictures to people (usually people without android phones or android but not MT4G), or the people get an error when trying to view the picture on their phone. This has happened with 3-4 people now. I have to end up emailing it to them. What gives?
Could anyone else try this? YOu don't have to send the picture, you go to gallery, view the picture, share it with "Messages" (is this what I'm doing wrong?), and it adds it to a slideshow thing asking if you want a new slide or whatever. I don't think other people's phones support this though...

Settings > wireless and networks > mobile networks > access point names > T-mobile Data. make sure u dont have Telkilla selected
This fixes the MMS issue, but I am now unable to download things from the market except by WiFi. What gives? it just freezes on "Download starting.."
Another thing, can you make it not do this slideshow thing? What does that even do anyway? What happens if you try to send a slideshow to a non-android phone, does it just show up for them as a text with a picture attached? What if your slideshow had 2 pictures?
Sorry for all the questions, I just cant find any documentation on how this slideshow stuff works... :/
A slideshow is how HTC sense handles multimedia messages. Try downloading Handcent to handle your messages. I don't think they use slideshows.

Wow this helped a lot. But how in the heck did I get telkila anyways.

I think it's one of the default internet service provider for one of the main apps we use on the MT4G.
I wouldn't Delete it I would just switch to the tmobile data one, just in case we need that service provider for like for example Video chat...
Just talked with tmo pda support...telkilla was a testing apn, they released it with default to telkilla. He told me I had to delete it, or reset would set it back again.

Can you guys download apps from the market (WITH WIFI OFF) when you have the tmobile network selected? I can't. Mine says "Download starting..." and doesn't do anything for like 5 minutes (didn't wait around longer than that). I asked tmobile and they told me to clear the market data/cache, but that didn't help. They then told me I could try returning the phone. But I don't really want to do that.
I just want to see if this is just my problem or if this is everyones!
Hi!
I use the Cyanogenmod ROM, been using it since the nightlies of the 6.0-version, but one thing has been bothering me..
I don't have a full plan for data; I pay for what I use, so I have data disabled - and enables it whenever I need it.
However, when someone sends me a MMS, my phone recieves it (with a "download now"-button) like it's supposed to do, BUT! There are no way of knowing this. It doesn't notify, no sound, no flash, nothing in the notification area, I have to randomly open the app and suddenly see that I've recieved an unread message from someone..
Anyone else experiencing this? Any settings I've overseen? Thanks in advance!
Poke around in the settings for the messaging app, see what you find It could be that Android only notifies when it's downloaded the message
Thanks for tip, but I've already poked around in the settings :/ Just wondering if it's a bug, or if it's the SMS/MMS-app itself. Thanks for replying, though!
Hmmm. I don't use mms stuff, so I can't be of much more help. Sorry

sooo my textual messages are being lame and i cant get any. I'm wondering if this is more a sprint wide issue or just me and my phone
I have noticed this problem since the phone came out. I know there was a mod for GS3 to stop the compression, but I have yet seen one made for this phone.
I made a similar post over in the Sprint GS5 forum and someone suggested to use a third party SMS app. Unfortunately that didn't stop the compression.
Does anyone know of a solution to this?
Hello, I don't get where this is happening to you? Is it through MMS ? Or a specific chat app?
Yes, MMS. Im using the stock messaging. The images compress to the point where it is very grainy and just awful looking. I was just wondering if there was a way or a mod to stop the compression once added to a message.
Depending on what provider you use, you may not be able to fix it. When I was on Verizon I could not get a better than about 20kb picture to send. Nothing I did from custom Roms to modded apps changed that.
I could change it with sprint, and I dont have to change it with tmo, it already sends really good pics stock. They're still compressed but they're usable.
They Textra sms/mms app. Then go manual MMS settings, and change the value of "largest mms size available". Try 300kb, 600kb and maybe 1mb. But be aware that your carrier will have a limit as well, so if you choose a value in you texting app that is over theirs, the mms will not be delivered.
