[Q] Which kitchen do YOU use? - Windows Mobile

Hello (^^,)
I'm just curious to see who uses what around here. Soooo as the title says
I use EVK.

Made the switch from EVK to OSkitchen a while ago and have to say it has some cool funtions. cooks fast, easy to understand interface and Airxtreme updates it alot.
If you havent tried it yet i would definitely give it a go

I have done the same.

+1 for EVk because i started with that...... but all new cookers use os kitchen its easy to understand etc....

Oskitchen here. (although the older 1.3 as am having problems with the newer ones for some reason).
Sheer simplicity of use makes it easier for relative noobs like me.

This one for me

I'm using Ervius Kitchen because of it's useful tools such as integrated search between files.

I use OSBuilder by Barin over at asusmobile.ru
It is pretty amazing. You can create your own packages.sof & packages.cif. You can do everything from the kitchen. Right click on an OEM and you can edit the provxml, rgu, dsm or initflashfiles.txt. You have the ability to set what gets deleted from the OEMxipkernel & MSxipkernel. You can also do a Initflashfiles.dat preview, a registry preview (including provxmls) and packages & registry build order preview. Let me know if you need some links.

On latest osKitchen and man its rocket speed on my server !
A full 24626 build takes me around 1 min 45 seconds
[03:38:10] New ROM generation process started for the device "HTC Leo"
...
[03:39:44] Generating NBH file...

No kitchen (some time refer to classical kitchen) for Acer S200

I'm kinda interested to see who doesn't use a visual kitchen...

I use old style kitchen (XIPPort + optional BuildOS)

For ultimate control, and better built roms, I use Barin's OS Builder.

Hah... about 55 seconds here on a measly Core2Duo laptop! LOL
I use a mostly command line based kitchen, with a custom GUI I wrote, all based on bepe's platformrebuilder
Not pretty but it works very well and it's fully automated

Looks pretty sweet in your case, as you produce such a variety of ROMs. Now you have them all on one screen. Perhaps when I'm more experienced I'll try writing my own kitchen
PS: How'd you get it so fast?

[release] Linux ROM Kitchen

Linux ROM kitchen is a tool that allows you to cook your own Windows Mobile ROMs for HTC Windows Mobile devices. This means you can extract the contents of a Shipped or Dumped ROM, and add/remove files or Packages into the ROM.
It consists of several tools, most of them can be run separately from command line, altough they are all nicely put together in a GUI.
Basic knowledge of ROM cooking is expected, it helps if you have played with similar kitchens available for windows before, and know a bit of the internals of WinCE OS.
Use it with CARE. If you don't know what you're doing you can brick your device. USE IT AT YOUR OWN RISK.

now all i need to do is figure out how to sync my kaiser with evolution...
Help me pof:
i have installed ubuntu 8.04 for install the linux kitchen but i have a problem because when i try to do that return me an error:
is impossible to install one component because not exist and that is a "wine".
why pof
thank and great for a good job
If you are using Ubuntu, you can now install Wine by clicking this link. Alternatively, you can install by going to Applications->Add/Remove and searching for Wine.

yes, almost the same functionality as other windows kitchens. It's compatible with exisiting OEM packages from other kitchens too.
Ubuntu 64bit
FYI this does work on Ubuntu 8.04 64bit.
Just install with sudo dpkg -i --force-all name.of.deb
It gripes about some dependencys but they can all be found with apt-get.
Great job pof, you have made my day. No more more borrowing my gf laptop top just to flash my phone.

New Project - after all a Quick Peek

I'm working on this project for months (or is it already a year ???) now and this is after all a Quick Peek of the almost "Beta".
It's a GUI for the platformrebuilder.exe with additional functions for editing and new diagnostic functions.
It will be possible to extend the app with plugins (for all devs interested devs, the plug-in API will be public).
The main app is written in mixed code (managed and unmanaged c++), but plugins must be managed (VC++, VC, VB, ...)
All plugins and the GUI support translation... just need to make a new localization.en-us.xml for your language
Ok, pics tell more than words

Packages:
- enable or disable packages
- Show content of packages, rename files or set file attributes, delete files, ...
- rename/delete packages
... and so on
Registry Preview:
- builds a preview of the registry, like it will be on the device after flashing the rom
- includes .reg, .rgu, .provxml files
- filters for: reg, provxml and XIP, SYS, OEM, EXT
- it will show warnings or errors if there are any in the source files
- you can see if one package is overwriting registry entries of another package
... and so on
File Preview:
- builds a preview of files on the device, like it will be on the device after flashing the rom
- includes .dat, .provxml files
- filters for: dat, provxml and XIP, SYS, OEM, EXT
- it will show warnings or errors if there are any in the source files

... and so on
Settings:
- Main settings and settings for the plugins
- Plug-in version information
Output:
- Shows the output of platformrebuilder.exe
- Also plugins can make new output containers, on this pic you see the output of the Execution plug-in (it is executing CreateRom.bat right now)
This is another simple plug-in. Allows you to change the Shadow order of the packages... This plug-in adds a menu entry to the Tools menu
there is no release date yet, because I don't know how much time I'll have to work on this... beside my family and studying
Best regards bepe

there will also be an update for platformrebuilder.exe, fixing some problems that it had with some non HTC devices.
This GUI is basically for all WM devices that can flash custom roms, just making the OS file system... plug-ins can build the right rom then.
this looks great
btw, thanks in advance (Transaction ID: 7X029103UB793424L) for another masterpiece
Excellent!!!!!
hoping release as soon as possible!
cool~~~

you are so great ,Bepe.we like your genius works.
This will be purely for rom building right, not for dumping roms per se?

Great works brother !
Can't wait for build rom with your new kitchen !
Keep it up
Tom
Will this kitchen protect all the roms?
Like prb ? remove all the .reloc section of modules ?
Is there any way to turn off the option?
I like your kitchen, but i dont like to protect my rom.
Fantastic!
U are the Man.
WOW!!!!! I always think that you are an alien
It is awsome a simple preview of the files? its amazing I wonder if this New GUI could do some changes to the initflashfiles I mean... maybe if I want a shortcut here or there i could make it mannually and it affects directly to the initflash, (maybe its an impossible idea hehe ) but seeing the images like an emulator I can imagine so much things.
Hope the kitchen has the same improvements as the Ervius and new tools that Da_G is working on... to make the process faster but this is a fantastic idea and its looking good.
Congrats man! a donation coming soon... to support the work

Sweet, can't wait to give it a whirl when it's ready.
Slightly off topic, but since it's based on platformrebuilder, it's probably ok. Your old buildOS works great, but I can't get platformrebuilder to run provxml's after boot (ref here). I went through the normal steps to try to get it working, will this change file attribs and all that during boot time?

[ROM][WM6.5.X] Very light 23563 + Kitchen

I've been working on tweaking the hell out of my base ROM, and have now got it to benchmark incredibly well (it also feels very snappy).
This is a WM6.5.X ROM, based on the 3.04 and 2.14 OEM ROMs and 23563 XIP/SYS from Da_G
All it has got is the bare minimum OEMDrivers, plus a fully featured SYS (some of the SYS applications have been tweaked: removed extra screen layouts for LockScreen, removed SampleMusic etc, UPXed a few things).
The XIP has been tweaked quite heavily to get the best performance, and you should be able to add whatever you like to this ROM and it should remain stable.

To be honest, I don't know, I don't have a US Leo available for testing...
It's got the XIP from 2.14 which is the Leo1.5, which is the same as the US Leo, so it should work, but that's not guaranteed.
