Trillian
Try http://www.trillian.im/learn/tour-android.html
Just came out into beta stage, feels real smooth, the UI is ok and its speedy. From a post in their blog it said they would be using Google Cloud 2 Device Messaging, but i'm not sure if it is being used in this beta yet.

Anyone have a suggestion for a great notes app that they like. Notes from a class or simply jotting down some brain storming?
Catch Note is not bad, its been optimised for HC
I've been using Extensive Notes - it has some pretty robust features and looks great on the tab.
power note is the best. its simple and allows you to also look at your notes from the chrome browser using quick note as it has a sync function
Note everything pro still my fave.
I use my own application Notes. The newest version (2.0) has been released yesterday and is optimized for tablets - https://market.android.com/details?id=nl.jacobras.notes&feature=search_result
best note app optimized for tablet
What I have found after searching all over is MaplePaint, check the market!
Jacob nice app I love it how do I remove adds?

This is fantastic but the one thing all simple note apps seem to lack... the ability to create categories/folders.
I wish I could find a simple, well designed note app like this that actually supported folders/categories.
If it also synced to an online service (Google Docs for example) it would be even better.
I'm using Flick Notes for this. It's not tablet optimized yet but works fine on Honeycomb, and syncs flawlessly (so far) with the SimpleNote web service. SimpleNote in turn syncs with Notational Velocity on my Macs, and also saves notes into a Dropbox folder (need a paid account for that though). It's plain text only, and instead of folders it uses tags and search for organization, but overall this system works pretty well. Also there are SimpleNote clients for Windows, Chrome, emacs, vim, iOS, etc that can all sync to the same web account.

I agree, I've been looking for a note application that alows for cascading categories. Integration of to-do lists that can be checked off would be awesome too.
extensive nots
Many feature including free hand drawing add folder options and some pre defined folders for spacific files. Most complete out of the many I have tried. Works well with writing free hand notes with dig pen as well
I use mNote, which syncs to my simplenote account (https://simple-note.appspot.com/).

Must have apps..
I just sold my iPad as well.
My must have apps include:
Reader HD (for feeds)
MX Video Player
FriendCaster (facebook)
Official Twitter App for twitter
Album Art Grabber (fast and accurate)
Tabr Widget (with Agenda and Social modules)
Google Goggles
Google Earth
Deerhunter HD (seriously awesome)
tinyshark is good for music.
I recommend TouchDown for corporate exchange access.
go to http://www.tablified.com/for list of honeycomb apps
There's also tweetcaster HD that's currently in beta now. I use it and like it a lot for tweeting.
Plume is great for twitter, and the widget is awesome
some of my must have apps ...
news360
circle launcher
dolphin browser HD
Skyfire browser (if you watch any non-flash videos)--hulu still doesnt work though
dropbox
logmein (not cheap so only get it if you're gonna use it alot)
plex
google music
seekdroid (just in case you leave it somewhere) -- I'm pretty sure it doesn't work on the stock rom, but definitely works with in paris.
hide it pro (if there's ever any prying eyes)
wolfram alpha (if your doing any math related work its epic)
tablet keyboard
there's other area specific apps that would be useful but you probably wouldn't use em
idk what root apps you have so i'll just list em all ...
blade buddy (extended version of spare parts+) -- same developer.
voltage control (its a more advanced version of setcpu basically)
nitrality
battery calibration (if you have battery troubles ever)
root explorer (one of the best)
sentinel 3 (if you like tower defense games its the best)
hopefully that helped

The tablet and phone versions have now been consolidated into one "TweetCaster" app (same goes with FriendCaster). Unless you're a power twitter user who needs several separate lists I recommend TweetCaster over the other twitter clients. To me it is by far the most aesthetically pleasing.
I'll also recommend FriendCaster for Facebook. I used FriendMe for a while but I've found I prefer the former.
I won't repeat what others have said here, but I prefer File Manager HD for file explorer duties.
Other apps I use regularly are Reddita for Reddit browsing, DGT-GTD for my ToDo list (toodledo sync. It's just a stretched out phone version, but it still looks great on the tab), and IMDb looks excellent on Honeycomb.

Hi guys.
The facebook app doesn't really works nice in the N10, photos are huge in the friends feed.
I have added a shortcut to the web version of facebook and it works much better. However sending messages is painful and of course doesn't have real android notifications.
So what are you using to access Facebook in the Nexus 10? Have you guys tried friendcaster?
Thanks.

I've been using friendcaster and it's been ok. It uses the screen real estate pretty well just some odd bugs and a few features missing. It works well enough though and there's some customization which is nice. Download the free version to try out, the ads are on the bottom but since the screen is so big you don't even notice it. If you don't like it..... Un install!
Edit: ignore the title I put the verification in the wrong box hahah

Thanks, Friendcaster is doing a good job so far.
Hi,
I just use the browser whereever possible. Keyt concern is the VERY relaxed attitide many app devs, especially facebook etc, have towards your personal info (address book
etc).
Exception is google, in for a penny in for a pound with them lol.
Cheers
You could have the facebook app installed for the notifications, but use the browser to actively use facebook. Much better experience, just some minor weird glitches when viewing photos. It's what I do.

I'm using Friendcaster and think it's pretty good - better than the official Facebook app, anyhow...
You will have missing posts using third party apps due to security settings individual users can configure lately I have been using a browser for fb more and more often. Tired of the ginormous photos in landscape mode with the app. If you hold device in portrait it's better at least.

Hello everyone. I think we all need a better Facebook app. The original app has an awful user interface and consumes to much ram and battery. Unfortunately unofficial alternatives are not very effective since they can't complete even simple task like editing profile search/accept friends, or writing to someone's timeline.
Anyway Android doesn't have a proper Facebook app now and i want to know if you would like to develop one with all the features of official Facebook app with a Google Plus like ui. At least having most of the features like news, real time notifications, friends, uploading photos, editing profile, chat, Contact sync and things like that. Hope you are interested.
Have you tried KLYPH...?
Is the Facebook app still considered to be a battery killer?
The interface seems not to dissimilar to the actual site.
That said Friendcaster is not a bad alternative in the main.
greenify the app... although I haven't noticed any significant battery drain with it running in the background anymore...

Klyph is my favorite. But I need hashtags and only fast does that. And I really don't like their UI.
Hi All,
Many of you are coming from the likes of the Note 2 (or even the original Note) but I'm sure there's plenty like me that are new to the phablet scene and definitely new to the S-Pen scene. So it seems appropriate to start a thread asking people - what apps do you recommend to use with your shiny new device? Going beyond the usual recommended android apps, what ones do you feel really make use of the Note's features (such as the pen, or the massive screen or whatever).
Please, suggest away!
handy note and handy scanner dude
I would of said sketchbook, however they have nicely included that with the device now! It's a brilliant app for getting your artist on!
I'd also suggest emulators for games as the big screen is certainly easier than the smaller devices out there! Drastic DS emulator has arrived on the play store recently.. It's abut £5 but imo worth its price tag, it allows you to play Nintendo DS games (Roms) really fluid and of course with the s-pen!! ! If you was a fan of the old Zelda games etc this gives you a change to play catch ups wit the latest outings of Link.
Netflix
SwiftKey - Brilliant keyboard replacement that I feel that corrects a lot more reliable than stock.
Spotify - Free 48 Hour trial of millions of music tracks (You can keep creating a trial account, in theory not actually pay.. But you'll end up in love with your play list you've mashed together and just pay the sub (what happened to me).
Go Sms pro - again a nicer more configurable Sms /mms replacement of stock app. Also includes a go Sms to go Sms feature where you can send pics, doodles, recordings, videos to anyone with gosms installed for free.
If you live in the UK *** 0800 wizard. Allows you to dial 0800/0844 numbers using your network minutes.
Order and chaos - MMO game, works really well with the big screen and adreno 330... Similar to world of war craft.
Es file Explorer - allows you to browse the memory on your phone/SD card memory a lot easier.
Be great if people added their favourite apps into this thread... Nothing beats a good app download session

Drastic is an amazing DS emulator. Has fast forward feature for all you poké masters.
I second SwiftKey as well.
Firefox works nicely. Can download add-ons like adblock.
I prefer nova launcher and Hd widgets
