If you can get to the internet, you should be able to access android market, because it's on the web. So far I never fail to access the market, be it by using 3G or wifi.
If you insert your sim is should ask you which carrier you are on and configure your phones apns. Have to tried over WiFi and is mobile network enabled (hold down power button and select mobile network) make sure you have a data plan though. If it has a limit try 3g watchdog and apndroid. If not then contact your carrier or HTC since you may have a fulty unit

Thanks for the input guys I'll check on those.. But I am just wondering, does android market have some sort of location requirement? I mean is there a possibility that I won't be able to connect to the android market if I bought the unit in singapore then used it in the Philippines or in any other country for that matter?
Not sure it works fine in the UK. I think the location is only for paid apps. In the meantime contact HTC or try appbrain

hi, eveyone,
i got a X10i from Germany(unlocked), UMTS band is band 1,4,8.
I use it with Canada's Rogers wireless network, and my rogers service includes data plan. My X10i is only work on GPRS/EDGE(i know Roger's UMTS Band is 2,5 so my X10i just work on GPRS/EDGE not 3G)
So I set it to roger's APN and browser is worked with GPRS/EDGE network, but all google services(include twitter/facebook/google maps/market) can not work with GPRS/EDGE network.
do i need any other setting for google service or it only through 3G network?
P.S. wifi is working fine
P.S.2. same problem with R1FA014,R1FA016(by SEUS) and R2BA020(UK by flash tool)
thanks
Can you post your apn detail pls?
did you use these settings for your apn?

also, did you flash software for x10a on your phone or did you use software for the x10i?
i think you need to use software for the x10i only where the x10a versions can run software for either version as long as the apn settings are correct
my APN setting is automatic set to ROGERS from SIM card.
i can use browser access website, but just no google apps...
i will try manually input APN.
now my X10i firmware is R2BA020(UK), and in "about" is X10i not X10a

this setting works great too, but it only allows for data and not mms. the all-in-one apn i listed gives you full data access plus mms.
i'll try later~
thank you guys~
the apn that automatically sets up uses the goam.com apn, not internet.com so depending on your data plan or account settings it may block access to certain things. i am not sure, but it is my best guess

I just tested your setting, either 3g or mms is not working on mine x10a rooted with fm 23 ?
my old setting doesn't support mms which is true
after I added something below to Honda's settings, 3g begins to work but still can't send mms

I will get my roommate's branded x10a when he is back, so I can just copy his official settings to here if it is possible

Did you delete the old apn first? If not try again and make sure there is only one access point. If it doesn't work then set up your old access point and Google search for the mms settings for rogers and add it as a 2nd access point. It is called media.com
I had no problem using your settings or the one I recommended with my x10a when using both the UK generic and north American generic ROMs
i follow this APN setting post by hondaguy,
and in APN setting i choose it, it works! everything works ok!
thank you~

yeah, mms can't get picture messages or anything through wifi, it has to be through the cell data stream. what he said.
thanks for the quick reply guys! i figured it out and then came here to post the solution and here it was! its weird that on stock i had mobile data disabled but it still worked... -shrug- i guess cm7 REALLY disables it in all ways... hopefully i dont run up too big of a bill
I am running CM6 and have never been able to DL MMS messages, even trying the above methods. When I was using Liberated F008 I was able to. But I prefer the CM build so it isn't that big of a deal.

This may or may not be the cause, but go to:
menu>settings>wireless & network settings>mobile networks>Access point names.
Click 'ATT'. Scroll down to 'APN type' and make sure it says "default, supl, mms". If it doesnt, change it.

You may need to update your apn.
Google your supplier your region and apn... Eg vodafone uk apn.
Then goto settings, wireless & networks, mobile networks, access point names.. Check that what you get from google is in there.

Ok.. So the problem im having is that I cannot send or receive MMS messages to anyone other then myself. I have changed the APN settings to every different one I have found scouring the internet for every android phone there is settings for, and although data never has a problem no matter what settings are used, I cannot get MMS working.
Yes I have the full data/unlimited $60 plan.... Yes I know what im doing.....lol
Im just wondering if anyone else has had this same issue with the Mytouch 4g and resolved it. It makes no sense that data and regular texts go through without a problem, but no picture messages.... except to myself
Any help would be greatly appreciated and any info you need can be given.
thanks in advance.
Had this same damn issue awhile back. Can't fully remember what I did. I know I turned all data off including wifi, then reset my phone, enabled data including data roaming. Don't think I changed anything with the apn.
Also try putting it in airplane mode then pulling the battery. Replace battery turn back disable airplane mode.
Fixed a mms problem on my sprint hero also(tech support helped me with that one)

I fixed it by switching to a sense rom. Not sure why that works since Cyanogen has Simple mobile as an APN already, but once I put sense on it works lol. Thanks though and Ill try those ideas when i go back to Gingerbread.
Lol nice. Kinda odd its working the same settings, could be a conflict somewhere from a app that had been installed or uninstalled. Not really sure, but good its working with another rom.

I am from Kerala State, India. I very recently purchased a Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc (LT15i) Phone which runs on Android 2.3. I thought I would share this experience of mine with the forum.
I am a Tata Docomo Subscriber and since there is no 3G coverage in my area, I wanted to setup internet (GPRS - 2G) on the Arc. I called Tata Docomo GPRS helpdesk and they gave me some settings. With that settings, I was trying to create an APN and to save that and it was not getting saved at all. I thought that it was a bug. I did some research on internet, but couldnt find any solution. I did came accross the following links, but they were not satisfactory.
http://www.modaco.com/index.php?act=findpost&pid=1076166
http://androidforums.com/nexus-s-support-troubleshooting/301776-apn-fields-setting-problem.html
I did a reset of the phone and still the problem persisted.
The settings given by Tata Docomo GPRS Helpdesk was as under:
Name : TATADOCOMOINTERNET
APN: TATA.DOCOMO.INTERNET
Proxy: <none>
Port: 8080
Usename :<none>
Password:<none>
MMSC:<none>
MMS Proxy: <none>
MMS Port:<none>
MCC : 404
MNC: 40
Authentication Type: <none>
APN Type: <none>
Wherever the <none> thing is given, I was asked to leave the field blank.
After typing all this, I tried to save this information and it was not getting saved. I lost my patience and called Tata Docomo helpdesk again and they gave the same settings. They were not in a position to help further.
I did a factory reset and tried once again. Still It was not getting saved.
I tried some R&D and tried to create another APN.
I gave the following values:
Name : TATADOCOMOINTERNET
APN: TATA.DOCOMO.INTERNET
Proxy: <none>
Port: 8080
Usename :<none>
Password:<none>
MMSC:<none>
MMS Proxy: <none>
MMS Port:<none>
MCC : 405
MNC: 03
Authentication Type: <none>
APN Type: <none>
For MCC and MNC, 405 and 03 were the default values. I actually didnt do any modifications in those columns.
I tried saving it and it got saved. I restarted the phone and it worked. So, the only information required to setup an APN manually is the Name, APN name and Port No. Nothing else and its so simple...
Hope this helps someone....

Dear Tata Docomo,
Many thanks. Appreciate the reply.
The settings which I have mentioned in this forum are working just fine. I went to Tamil Nadu recently and it was working there also. I was able to use internet, A-GPS all with those settings.
Unfortunately your helpdesk couldnt help me properly. Would be nice if you could share this info with new customers who takes the pain to call GPRS helpdesk (after learning that long process of reaching there) to findout the settings.

Hey Kalesh.
I stay in Bangalore and I was in the same situation you were in. The settings just woudn't save. However the settings you've posted worked and my Arc is now connected! Thanks for posting this.

'All Operator APNs | Beta' new Android app by Tweakker
Hi
Tweakker has developed an app that has access to a database of APN settings for more than 600 operators. This gives a total of more than 700 internet APN settings accessible by an easy interface in the application.
Our aim is to once and for all try and eliminate the problems of faulty APN internet settings for Android users. The application installs the settings and checks if a connection can be established. It rolls back to previously installed settings if it can't connect via the APN set up by Tweakker.
You can help make our app better by using the app. It is available in free beta from the Android Market. Just search for Tweakker and you should find it.
Any feedback or problems using the app you should post here and we will get back to you: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=13648113

According to wikipedia , however the MNC code for kerala - TATA teleservices is 035 instead of your 03 value.. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mobile_Network_Code#I
The values of wikipedia fails to save, .. maybe they had an error? Or something changed within docomo.. Im not sure. Can you guys confirm?
i think the code is 03
Anybody having success in setting up Tata Docomo 3G on Google Nexus 4
Hi All.
I just recently got my new Google Nexus 4 from US. I am having trouble setting up 3G on my phone.
Docomo Customer case suggested using the APN name as TATA DOCOMO INTERNET with APN as TATA.DOCOMO.INTERNET and leaving the rest of the settings to default.
Tried all the options of restarting the phone ,turning on /off airplane mode. None worked .
This doesn't work and TATA docomo support doesn't have any clue .Any help is greatly appreciated .
