Normally when you download an .apk with the browser it shows up in the Download History list with a nice little icon next to it that looks like a LCD Monitor with a gear overlay.
Ever since installing Nesoid (full), some APK files have the Nesoid icon next to them even though they have .apk extensions. When I try to run the APK with the Nesoid icon, I get an error 'ROM File Type Not Supported' - as if Nesoid was trying to open my APK instead of the Package Installer.
Any idea how to fix this?
Try clearing defaults on the snesoid app

I tried to download a pdf earlier and the browser refused to download the file saying that its not supported...
Is there a way around this annoying issue?
Edit: Astro File Manager allows you to override browser download restrictions in its preferences. Problem solved.
That's weird, I havnt run into that and I have been downloading all sorts of crap from both browser and dropbox. Do you have a pdf reader installed? Try installing a reader and then downloading.

Thats kind of silly that samsung gimped the native browser so badly... I mean, are there any browsers that are better from a speed perspective?
there are some that are faster but buggier
i personally like xscope and skyfire
dolphin browser hd used to be on my list but lately its super buggy and laggy
Simple fix: just install ASTRO.

Astro lets you override browsers from preventing downloads on unsupported files. It's in the settings/preferences.
Ah ha. Thanks guys.
I stopped using Astro cause it didnt support 7z files...
I guess i should support those guys again
Hi, as another option I like using other file managers besides astro so I installed download file crutch it is not available in the market but you can find links for it here. Right now I am using that with estrongs file manager and it is great.

hi friends i just want to know how can i play java(..jar) games on galaxy 3 i tried jbed & netmite's app explorer/manager but they give me an error j2me midlet not found.....
I personally use netmite. Simply open default web browser of g3 and click on download option any jar app. A dialog box would appear and ask download using, just select netmite from the options and the app would be downloaded as apk.
I'd like to know this too. I know few good java games I'd like to try
For some reason, the other day I saw the gallery 3D application in the market. I dunno why but I downloaded it on my Evo. Now in the App I now longer have the Gallery application, but instead ".com.cooliris.media.gallery" application.
The icon isn't the regular gallery application, it is that green and white android square
The app fails to open every time you click on it the first time, second time it opens
I'm unable to uninstall the "Gallery 3D" application from the market, or the applications area in settings.
Any suggestions?
Guess if anyone could, can you post your gallery app back up from titanium.
Thanks

I can't get my NC to see all the apps in the Market, so I can't download the Yahoo Fantasy Football app. Could someone possibly post the .apk?
Thanks!
I dont have the apk, but for Yahoo FF you CAN load stattracker! It looks awesome in landscape mode also!
As for the app, go into settings - apps - all - market - uninstall update - then go to the market and get it. Your market will update again to the new version in a little bit though.

What internet browser are you using? I tried using StatTracker with the Dolphin browser and it took about 4 minutes to load... Once it finally loaded, it was basically unusable. FYI...I'm on rooted 1.3 with the OC'd kernel.
I used the stock browser from CM7. I only oc'd to 1.1 and was on wireless tether from my Epic. Speedtest only showed .3 down, so it was not the best.
It does seem to take forever to load the first time, but after that it worked great all day.
does anyone know where the apk is stored? i need the apk as well and cant find it now in the market for some reason, but do have it on my older phone. if i could just get the apk i would be fine. thanks
I got the .apk. I had to download it with my android phone, install it, then back it up with titanium manager and restored on my nook color. That's the only way I know how to get it.
Yahoo fantasy football. Apk
I am in japan so i am unable to download this from play store. Is there another location to obtain this? Once i have the file i will be able to install it.. Galaxy s3
Thabk you
Ok so this thread is for all the newbies out there who want to side load apps to their Kindle Fire HD.
The first thing you need to do is install a file manager app. I personally use File Expert, but you can use whatever works for you. Next you need to get the app file. You can find it by searching on Google: (app name) apk. Once you have those, navigate to the Downloads folder with the file manager, and tap the .apk file. Click Install, and you're set! You can find the app in apps>device, it will not be in Cloud.
Note: I have tested this with many apps and almost all of them worked perfectly. It does NOT work with apps that you have to use google account. They will not work.

Ok you actually can use some google apps like Youtube and Chrome if you install the Google Framework, and reboot. www.mediafire.com/?zaumfwhraxcifqf
Here is a link to the HD Youtube app. http://d-h.st/qIp

tried this with my new KFHD7_32, and YouTube works if you search for videos; doesn't seem to bring up your account though. Did not try Chrome, but did get Google Earth working; Google Sky Map did not work.
The only app I haven't been able to sideload is Yelp. :/
Use bar Shortcut app it works best
