Vibrant for $99 today only - Vibrant General

apparently tmobile has decided to put the vibrant on sale today only for $99 on their website. Too bad i bought mine 2 weeks ago, maybe i can return it and buy it again. just thought the people who hadnt bought theirs yet would like to know

Man, that's dirty.... good job T-Mobile, jokes on all of us that bought the device on launch!

I bought mine a couple of weeks ago at Wal-Mart for $99.

this is pretty ****ing retarded. i'm not amused.
$249.99 + tax + $18 upgrade fee = $289 - $50 MIR = $239
and now its $126 after tax and upgrade fee? wow, great, i just wasted $113. thanks tmo!

I got mine last week through the American Legion for $99 with a new contract.

i can't get a price for the upgrade, like i called tmobile directly and was like, i'm within my 14 day buyers remorse, what can you do for me? and they were like, nothing, you're already a tmobile customer, we have you by your nuts and we have an iron monkey grip on them.*
*dramatization.

this bs and then the whole deal where if you bought from tmobile, then took it back and tried to buy it at walmart or costco, you couldnt do it because only a tmobile employee can do an "override" to "undo" the upgrade you used to upgrae the phone (that you returned) is just really unfortunate for them.
i'm not going anywhere and i like my phone, i just think its kinda crappy that this keeps happening.

Now we all learned a lesson. Wait at least a month after launch to see if there is going to be a deal before buying. In my case, my G1 was bricked and I was using a regular phone for almost 2 months. Couldn't take it anymore so I bought the Vibrant on launch.

For new contract, yes; but not for upgrade. At launch anyways, dunno if they changed it now for upgrades.

At least as of a few minutes ago, Amazon has it for $149 for upgrades, $.01 for new lines.

Apparently you guys don't shop around. Here is a free one: http://www.letstalk.com/promo.htm?devicePrId=37335
Even when they just released the phone, I still got it for $50. And I am not even a new Tmobile customer.
I don't think I will ever pay more than $100 for any phone. If you look at the market trends, that price rarely lasts over a month or so.
Anyway, good luck.

Walmart is selling the phone for $500 without contract :-(

What a rip off. I went to the t-mobile phone store near my place but they ran out of the HD2.
So I called my nearest Walmart and they say that the phone is $149 with contract (2-years) but $500 without any contract.
Wow, that is more than MRSP price.
I guess I will have to wait for the T-mobile store to stock them again.
for 50 bucks more you can have the phone without the wait. its your decision.
Gee, this is crazy. I called RadioShack and they have it in stock for $550 with no contract.
Is it legal for a store such as Walmart or Radio Shack to sell it more than MRSP?

I don't see how this is a "rip off" given that people were paying $700-$900 for their T9193s.
Personally I bought mine in Australia -- I was on holidays -- and wound up spending $798CDN.

thats crazy, 2 friends walked into our local super walmart and the phones price was $449.99 and tax
Buy it online for the 450 price. Free 2 - 4 day shipping for 12 dollars over night.
Not too bad. When my local store said they were out I watched 10 people book it for their cars. Screw that. If this one is already out by time you get to the others they will be long gone.
I waited since release of the Euro version so whats another 24 hours and no hassle.
It is dumb that they are selling it at a higher cost, but they do not get any benefit out of it other that the sale of the hardware so it makes sense they will raise the price a little.

Awsome deal...

Well i was able to get the vibrant for Tmobile for 64.99 with 2 year commitment with $20 unlimited data loyalty plan, No upgrade/ activation fee, and free 3 day shipping and intant rebate. I was offered same deal on all 5 of my lines but will only take it up on one since i want to save the other upgrades for future phone releases. Only bad part is i wont get the vibrant until tuesday .
Im thinking of picking up one at tmobile tomorrow for retail price which is$439 to play with until mine comes in and then just return it, but i dont think tmobile will like that much.
Just really happy to get such a great deal and looking foward to android coming from the iphone platform

He has 5 lines. Phone companies always treat people based on how much they pay a month. The more you pay on your phone bill the more likely you are to get deals and fee's waived.
Also I see this confusion a LOT. $439 vs $499. It seems the $439 price is only for current customers, or people well into their contract. The $499 is for everyone else.

Ive been with tmo for 8 years and have 5 lines so im sure that helped. Basicly all my lines are out of contract and had previous considered going to ATT for new iphone. Tmobile offered free upgrades on all lines for any phone they had at that time with all fees waived. But they didnt have the vibrant out yet, so they told me to call once it was out to see what deal i could have. I called once it became availabe and they offered to waived all fees, bump up shipping and and additional $100 credit to regular upgrade. They ended up giving me additional $135 because i mentioned my upgrade only said 164.99, which was different from their $199, so they just added $35 to match the price.
Tmobile takes care of their customers! I have no issues being on a commitment with them.
Nice ^^^
They really hooked you up.

I paid $499.99
i paid 499.99 also, and i've been with t-mobile for 9 years with 4 phones.
got one offered for $429+taxes (~$460) as my early upgrade price (i bought my mt3g aug last year).
moved on to the retentions folks who brought it down to $249 + taxes, which is only $50 more than a brand new contract, i was sold on that. had them make the note on my account and picked it up in-store locally for the same price! =)
loving the phone so far, big upgrade from the mytouch3g.
can't wait to get CM6 on this baby.
btw, im having market issues currently - "download failed" error. was initially able to download a couple apps, but none now despite several reboots.

If you signed a 2 year contract, then you could try to get the $50 rebate.

Buying Epic without a contract.

Just wondering how many of you bought your Epics off contract and paid full price.
I noticed Sprints website retails the phone for 499.99, RadioShack shows it at 549.99, and BestBuy.com rolls in at a whooping 649.99.
Where'd you buy yours at? Being that I don't have an upgrade available, every dollar will help - so I assume Sprint.com or a Sprint Store is the best bet.
I hate to order one online - something I just can't wait for.
Well I bought mine off contract but didn't pay full price. Scored mine brand-new-in-box on craigslist for $380. ;-)
I sold my Hero back to Sprint for $47 and that pretty much took care of my sales tax on the full price.
Just picked up two on ebay. $380 and $385. Pretty psyched. It will be a sad day when I have to sell my TP2's but I'll cope.
I paid the full $499 + tax at a local Sprint store. No regrets whatsoever. Gave my Evo to the wife and I'm not looking back!

Lol, I bought my Moment on launch day when I was 16. I actually signed the contract. A week before I bought the Epic, I called Sprint and voided the contract. No termination fee at all.
I bought the Epic for $250 + $75 tax at Radio Shack on a new line. Wirefly had the phone for $200 online. I tried to get a price match but they preferred I just return the phone and buy it from Wirefly.
I have 30 days to return the phone and find a good deal so I'm not worried.

Welp - I bought it last night.
Sprint wouldn't let me buy one at all, even at full price, even letting them activate it in store. I was pissed. So I went the Radio Shack, bought it for 50 more and went back to the Sprint store just to show the ass I had one and he could start licking from the base.

Amazon Wireless has the epic for $100

I've been keeping an eye on amazon wireless's $150 epic expecting to go up in price any day....well it went down to $100 when I check last night! So I ordered it...hooray. I signed up for as a new customer so not sure if it will be the same price for an upgrade. Hopefully that will help some of you out.

Don't sweat it. It's been this price for weeks now. Problem is, it's ONLY for new contracts (no upgrades) and the $99 is only for single plans. Family plan new contract price is $149, and upgrades are still unavailable through Amazon - apparently they are working on it.
Walmart.com has it for 199 with and you get a $100 wm gift card in 4-6 week's only thing is its back ordered and they don't tell you..So i'm waiting for mine right now. I did get it for 169 w/ the gc because of a sale last week. Too good to pass up. Ordered 3 LG optimus's for the family so I'm getting $400 in gift cards but because my epic is back ordered the whole thing is on hold

LG V20 on Sprint for $0.34 (net after discount and freebies)

http://slickdeals.net/share/android_app/t/9231835
$349 on 2 year agreement + $200 off for old phone + free headphones (msrp of $149) = basically free (assuming the headphones really are worth the $150
That's honestly not bad. Although keep in mind that in order to get the headphones you have to go to the lg promotion website and type in your IMEI and take a pic of your receipt and upload it there, similar to the process of getting the gear fit or as card with the Note 7 a few months back. And because of that it takes a few weeks to process.
How the hell did you get them to let you do a normal subsidized purchase? They did away with that a few years ago! lol If this was still around I'd be still buying my phones this way instead of being forced into stupid leases... I loved the ability to buy my phone for like, 300 bucks... then when a new phone came out, I just sell the current phone on ebay or something and get almost double what I paid. then use that money to outright purchase the 'new' phone. Best method of buying phones period! lol. Who cares if its a 'two year agreement' because the phone was basically an out right full purchase since with no monthly payments, meaning the phone is YOURS to do with as you please. The agreement is just basically you saying you'll use their services for 2 years. So after that first year, and that new phone comes out, you can just walk in and buy the new phone and activate it no problem. Did this for YEARS until they stopped the subsidizing D:
The $200 phone rebate does not apply to on-contract purchases AFAIK.
I also got the exact same rebates that nest75068 got. I picked mine up from Best Buy on to 26th, so my $200 was a Best Buy gift card. I believe that as long as you are on an older contract they will still honor the 2 year contract. When I was purchasing mine the other day I was in store for 3.5 hours arguing that the 2yrs were still active for my account. I had 6 people in cellular department telling me no they were not. They finally called their Sprint rep after 3 hours and he told them to just TRY to ring it up, which I also told them soon as I got there. Guess what, it rang up fine and everyone working couldn't believe it. I think it's scary that no one in the department knew this and none of them ever saw a V20. Between returning my Note 7 twice and buying the V20 I was in the store a full 10 hours. All the promotions are nice but not sure that it makes up for all the frustration & aggravation.

I believe this is incorrect. I just ordered this on Sprint Wednesday. The V20 is not offered on a 2 year contact and the $200 off for phone trade-in is only when you select to pay with 24 month installments. At least, this is what was told to me by the 10+ representatives I talked to trying to figure this mess out.

Interesting. They wouldn't let me buy it that way and I always do 2 year contracts.
False. Just like others are saying, $200 buy back ONLY for 24 months installation and not the 2-year contract. I've called and spoke with several telesales and website clearly shows just that.
Like I stated above, I also was able to purchase on 2 year. If you log into your sprint account it should show options to buy as 24 monthly payments, full price, and mine gave me option for 2 year contract for $350. I had to do some arguing to get any one to remotely listen to what I had to say. I also did get $200 from BestBuy with the 2 year contract pricing.
I doubt there's any hope of getting the contract and the $200 discount via Sprint. Best Buy, on the other hand, might be worth a visit and the hassle.

Good luck, best buy in northern California wouldn't even bother if they hear 2-year contract. I was told that sprint wont allowed Bestbuy to process any 2-year contract starting the beginning of October. Only option for us who choose to stick to 2 years upgrade is via Sprint website or over the phone.
