Sound bug through handset - Droid Incredible General

Hey guys... Yesterday I upgraded the baseband to 2.15 from the original stock 1.0 I was running one of the CM nightly builds and also did the unrevoked forever root method to install it. After I did that I installed CM6 RC3 and later I realized I cannot hear out of the headset while making a call or receiving. So I then installed Skyraider and I still get the same thing. I can turn on speaker phone or connect to bluetooth and it works fine... but nothing through the handset.
Today I reverted to an old backup to see if that would help/work and still nothing. I guess my questions are can I fix this? Or do I have to downgrade to 1.0 baseband again and is that even possible?
Any help would be great, just a little annoying having to talk on speaker phone.

You have to revert to 1.0 radio. This happened to a few of us, it seems fairly isolated my replacement will be in tomorrow so I will know soon just how isolated.

I see.... well that sucks...
What did you say to get a replacement sent to you? Because obviously saying that I updated the baseband probably won't go over too smoothly.

When will the Audio Problem be fixed completely

I want to know when will the sound problem be fixed completely? im currently using fresh 1.5 because all of the 2.1 have problems with the sound.. when someone calls i cant hear them and they cant hear me! i cant be resetting my phone everytime this happens. the fix that they have dont work also it might prevent it from happening so often but all my calls are important... does any one know when this will be fixed fully or why is this happening? how to prevent it ? mayb its the cdma settings? Thanks alot
The audio problem for the effected phones will be fixed when official 2.1 comes out.
i found whats causing it.... so who has a nice rom with the older kernel before .29 .. wats the kernel ? lol
The issue is caused by audio drivers in the kernel not resetting. we do not have the source for .29 kernel so there is no fix. we dont know why this effects some people and not others. Since the audio drivers do not reset it does not allow anything to read them. so it continues resetting and resetting and this causes the cpu to be pegged by the constant retry and retry.
Any 1.5 or overclocked 2.1 Rom
The audiofix posted by avalaunch worked briliantly for me. I have not had the issue once since he posted his fix about two weeks ago.
Also just so you know, zens my touch Rom did not have the audio issues for me. Just be sure to reboot after the first boot to completely get everything working.
which fix the audiofx or audiorc?? or u on the newest one for testers? i hate the my touch roms omg lol whats the older kernel version
wait another thing could it be because we didnt update the radio ?? or u guys doubt that 1?
I have had the audio issue with every ROM i had used until i flashed the Dachdroid 2. Ever since i have not had any kind of issues with phone freezing or caller not hearing me when i answer. Its very strange, but i wanted to post to see if any of the Devs can find out the differences between whats in this ROM and all the othersthat would make it work. Again i have had audio issues with all except this one.
What is this Audio problem?
I've run ROMs with both the .29 and hacked up .27 kernels.
Is this a bluetooth audio problem? Or handset audio?
The problem occurs randomly, for me at least. It's an issue I've had as others have that no audio at all comes through after an unknown time. I notice mine is triggered when I get off the phone with someone, I get 'call lost' and then all my audio is gone and have to reboot to get audio back. It affects BT and handset for me.
Iv never had the problem and iv changed my radio quite a few times. I think im on my 4th radio.
Maybe later at night you could flash a 2.1 rom, change to a newer radio and give it a few test to see if it works.
Flipz has alot of radios and I think the stock one on his site.
(IF anyone trys flashing a radio this is really the only way you can brick your phone. DO not flash any radio unless it says CDMA htc hero. All of them are on flipzmode website. You cant go wrong if you get them from him.)
the issue will hopefully be fixed when they release 2.1 officially. and im still looking into the issue a little at a time. 99% of people reported that one of the two updates put together fix it.
the only other cause could be a hawrdware issue. like the moved one resistor on the board and this causes something in the kernel to restart drivers. idk that is a very very very simple thought. but anyways like i said hopefully it get fixed!
Dont know if this is related but its absolutely killing me
Just today the headset icon popped on and wont go away. I cant hear anything when using the phone because its stuck in this mode. I plug in headphones and the voice dialer starts. I can hear through the headphones, but taking them out does nothing.
Anyone have any info on this or if there is anything I can do?

yeah...Ive come to the conclusion that 2.1 is just not going to work for me...went back to fresh 1.1 and everything is good. Its funny though, Ive been on 2.1 since all of the work was done and never had a problem until now. Ive been on damn near every 2.1 rom and didnt have an issue. Now all of the sudden the handset icon shows up and I cant hear anything unless I put in headphones. Tried all of the audio fixes and searched the entire net looking for a resolution. Hopefully the official comes soon. I am definitely going to miss 2.1.

That's more than likely a mechanical problem. Take it in to Sprint.

I would think so too, but I went back to fresh 1.1 and its fine...
I'd go back, but then I'm stuck with not being able to receive picture messages. So far I get the audio problem every other day, and it's a simple reboot.

a simple reboot ? a simple headache lol idk about u guys i dont want to have to restart my phone when i just got a call that i couldnt answer !! ..... is there any newer roms with the older kernel?? because i dont understand the whole kernel thing...
This audio loss issue is reason number one why all of the people who say "Who cares when HTC and Sprint release 2.1? We already have it!" are just total idiots.

No Sound incoming/outgoing calls and Multimedia

The sound in my magic is not working on any ROM 2.1 that I install if I go back to 1.6 or 1.5 it does work. The notifications, alarms, etc.. work perfect but when it comes to receiving or making a call the sound doesn't work unless I turn on the speakerphone, the same thing happens with multmedia music if i play I song cant hear it unless I plug earphones.
Does this happens to anyone else? and/or know how to fix it?
Thankss!
you'll see my post as well.. i have the same problem..
Rooted fender mytouch, i haven't tried to go down to 1.6 or 1.5 ... im not sure what happened or why it happened? sorry i don't have a solution, i thought i would let you know that you're not alone.

Thanks for the reply, when I go down to 1.6 or 1.5 sound comes back so that's a kind of a solution but I really want it to work on 2.1 and not be stuck on 1.6 forever.
Let me know if you find a work arround.
I am having the same problem when running any version of CM 5.0.7. I have not tried any other ROMs.
Just another person letting you know that you are not alone.

It happens to me when running any CM from the first one that used 2.1 I also tried another non CM 2.1 ROM and had the same problem so it has to be 2.1 issue for us somehow. Hope we can find a fix for this soon.
sounds like I am in the same boat, but not even sure what to load or what to do to get sound back.
Speaker is the only thing that works, nothing else for me.
what SPL ya'll on?
Just to throw in my two cents to the mix, I was running CM 5.0.7 when my mytouch went down a couple of days ago, I went down into CM 4.2.15 thinking I was the new recovery I just flashed RA-1.7-cyan, but the sound worked, so I went back into CM 5.0.7 and havent had a problem with it after doing a clean install.
My SPL is 1.33.0004

Ear speaker not working good in 2.2 froyo

Hi all
My ear speaker suddenly got very low in volume yesterday, so low I can almost not hear the other person. Can't figure out why. But I've been reading a lot on the web about 2.2 froyo updates and the HTC incredible ear speaker not working after that. Could we have the same problem with the HTC wildfire?
I was running the stable CM when this happend, and been running it for 3 days before this happened. I flashed it again, tried the 59 nightly and flashed the 24H radio but nothing works.
But if I try speaker call, that works fine.
I'm going to try to flash back to original 2.1 eclair and check if that solves anything. Is anybody else having the same issues?

Fine here on the modaco froyo rom
Flashed back to 2.1 WWE shipped ROM, didn't change anything... I'm getting worried that I've bricked my device. But I can't understand how! Haven't done anything unusual, other from flashing the CM ROMs.
During a call, try the volume down key until you reach minimum, then max it up again.
I had this problem with modaco froyo, only at mine it was too loud. I had it at 60-70% and it was maximum, and when I reached minimum and went back to 60-70%, it wasn't that loud anymore.

Doesn't work...
It's strange, because it seems like there are lot of HTC desire, HD and Z owners complaining about this too. Might be somehow software related. I've tried a lot of different volume control apps but none of them work. Another HTC EVO owner had this problem with Hearing Aid settings set to 'On' but there aren't any Hearing Aid options on the wildfire.
Its a HUGE bummer not being able to hear people properly!!
HTC here in DK have accepted it as a flaw in the phone, so I'm sending it back to the internetshop where I bought it from for repair/exchange.

[Q] CM 10.2 mic and hear speaker audio not working on phone calls

Ok, so I've been using CM nightlies for a very long time. I've never had any major issues unless many others were reporting the same trouble. So now, I've decided to upgrade to 10.2 since it's been a few days already and there are not major issues reported. I upgraded fine except that I do not get any sound at all when on a phone call. The mic isn't working nor can I hear anything from the headset.
The strange thing is that if I put the phone on speaker, I can hear the conversation and the mic is working. If I switch it back, it stops. I've tried the mic and sound in many other apps and everything seems ok except for when making calls. You can see how this is a big issue. If I revert back to CM 10.1, I don't have any problems. As soon as I go back to 10.2, same issue again.
I don't see anyone else reporting the same issue. Here's what I've done so far to try to fix this. I did a complete wipe, lost everything on the phone. I made sure I had the latest gapps. I tried without wiping coming from 10.1 as well. I did all the fix permission in ROM manager. I don't really know what else to do at this point since nothing seems to be working.
Does anyone else have this issue? I'll try stock 4.3 and see what happens but I wanted to share and get some feedback from here as well.
I have you seen s you. Have you found a solution yet? When I use a bluetooth headset it works Fine
You need to update your radio

I had the same issue, updating the radio fixed it for me. I chose 33.84. You can get the radio firmware from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2358931

Try the app soundabout from the play store. Tell it to send audio to earpiece and under wired headset uncheck everything.
If mic doesn't work check out my thread in general section. Worked for me.

Huge thanks for this one. I had been searching google for a solution to this one for a week or so now. I will have to say, the most annoying thing I've had to deal with in quite some time. I should have just come to XDA first like an adult.

[Resolved] No Audio in calls

Ok I'm not a complete newb but I can't figure this out and its been driving me nuts for over a week now...
SGH-1337M (Rogers)
Up until last week I'd been running the nightly builds of CyanogenMod and loving it, the phone was fast had lots of functionality then I did a nightly upgrade and my phone stopped working. Incoming calls would ring but when I picked up the call I couldn't hear the caller and they couldn't hear me. After much frustration I ended up flashing back to stock. This fixed the problem but the phone was useless as far as I was concerned for everything but making phone calls. It was laggy, I couldn't listen to music (it was staticy) and just generally full of all of the extraneous crud that Rogers seemed to think I should have on my phone. (I honestly couldn't suggest the phone to anyone who was going to run it as a stock device if this was how it came out of the box!)
Now On Sunday I decided to try again and after setting everything back to defaults I reloaded Cyanogen and at first it seemed that things were working properly... until last night. Again I got a call and when I answered it there was no audio.
I can't figure it out, I'm running the correct radio now after flashing to stock (I337MVLUAMG1) but I just can't seem to get it to work and stay working. Besides Cyanogen I'm only running two other "root" apps Fantastic audio installer and AdAway.
Any suggestions would be great, I just can't go back to stock on this phone...
Any ideas?
I think I have the problem figured out...
Seems like it was a combination of a bad build of CM and the "Fantastic Audio Installer"
Beware of compatibility issues with apps like this...
