I have a G1, Galaxy and Nexus... a buddy of mine has a droid. I was showing him how cool metamoroh is. I thought I would see tons of them here, but when searching "morph" I only saw like 3 threads.
Where are all the morphs for the droid? Is there much theming happening? I mean, by a quick search there seem to already be a ton more for the Droid X and Vibrant than the Droid?
There are actually lots of Morphs for the Droid but noone will call them Morphs anymore, just Themes.

Most of the N1 themes I've tried work on the Droid just fine. I haven't tried any since CM 5.8 though.
Hm... can I make sure if the Milestone can be used with metamorph? with the locked bootloader and all.... and if it can, can someone show some good theme + instruction please?
thanks beforehand.
I just posted my MetaMorph/Theme. It was a nice hit on the Eris, so hopefully you guys will like it too.

Hey I was wondering if anyone happened to have the new droid X dump? I'm really looking to try out the new keyboard from it. Thanks guys.
i second this. i would love to see the multi-touch keyboard that the droid x has on the n1.
found the dump over at android central. i want to get the keyboard for my nexus too, hope it works out.
http://www.4shared.com/file/m8pSCMvI/droidx.html
The keyboard is there "LatinIME.apk"
Won't install however on the EVO. If this is able to be installed @ all, its going to need some alteration.
can someone resize this for the droid eris screen size? cause it dosen't work on our lower res screens.
would it be possible to port some of the widgets to other phones? say the incredible?

really where did you get that info? I downloaded and installed the keyboard a few hours ago. it works great BTW.
Only issue I have noticed so far is the vibrate on keypress is not working.
I was able to download the keyboard at droid for life. I am new so the site wont let me post a link.
are you guys talking about Droid X stock keyboard.
I just played with the Droid for the first time and the one thing I was disappointed with was the keyboard...small keys!
Was really hoping there was a way to get the Evos kbd.
if not...smartkeyboard pro will have to do.

I was wondering whether anyone has developed a working ROM that contains Motoblur within the build? For me, that would be a fascinating alternative to the HTC Sense interface or the plain vanilla one through Nexus One or G1. Thanks!
I agree while motoblur gets a lot of hate it would be fun to see whats all the fuss about
sent from my hd2 aka tmobile evo running on some froyo
I'm in also. I would use MotoBlur and also the UI from the new Droid 2.
ive owned a moto cliq , it really great for facebook and twitter heads
but i was honestly thinking the same thing
honestly I hated the silly motorola ui on my cliq, I do miss the badass keyboard tho. Poor guys at modmymoto are still waiting on the 2.1 update

There's a Motoblur.apk floating around but it doesn't work on my Droid. Can someone modify it for Droid?

Cool I will have to try the apk build on one of my ROMs.

I'm not sure if I would want the original motoblur but the version on the DroidX and Droid2 are pretty sweet. The build in email app is just about the best I've seen on Android so far.
is this even possible thou? since it is coming from motorola and not htc.
Wouldn't work on mine either. MCCM 1,5. Wouldn't install.
Same here. That .apk file is defective!
been awhile since this was brought up... anyone try'n or gonna try to see this can be done?

blurhome2.apk
still thinking of trying motoblur out?
just found this on the moto photon thread

sadly I can't try it out..
problem booting android..urggghh...
I was looking through the lists of roms for the droid 2 and I saw that all the roms are either stock or blur or half blur.... I was wondering if it would even be possible to port the MIUI rom over to the droid 2. It is made for the incredible, nexus 1, original droid, evo, and a few other big name phones and I was thinking we should port it over to the droid 2.
I know there are going to be a bunch of complications but I still don't really understand why a bunch of these roms don't work yet for the droid 2 and what is involved in porting them over...
thanks a lot,
ljbaumer
EDIT: forgot to add the link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=823494
i fully agree, i was excited about coming from the eris to the d2 in hopes that this rom existed for it. i've been pretty bummed out since vzw swapped me out because the eris dev community was so strong... i would love to see a miui rom though...
I am in the process of doing this. Last two attempts have been unsuccesful. I am trying to get help from the devs that have been succesful.

that is awesome. if i knew ANYTHING about development i would be the first person to help you. thanks for doing this, anything that provides more options gets us in the right direction.
It would be hard, but I am gonna work on it after my AOSP build. I would be buggy though, because it is an aosp rom.

right on man, sounds great. how is unleashed 3 coming along?
If we were able to get MIUI on to the droid 2 would we be able to use a similar strategy for porting sense over?
Also when is someone gonna work on a kitchen for the D2? I feel like once we get a kitchen set up for this baby we're gonna get a bunch of cool new roms

I came from the Original Droid and the Dev community was HUGE! I would practially have a new ROM every week and I could switch so easily with Rom Manager. I loved it, the D2 just seems too hard to root, I've had to do so many sbf restores, I miss my old OG Droid.

The droid 2 isn't hard to root at all. Why don't you use the one click root methods?
via XDA on DROID2

Sorry I should have rephrased myself. Rooting is terribly easy compared to the old way on the OG droid. But I meant installing roms is such a pain on the D2
I am another former Eris user. There were a TON of really great ROMs on that phone. I said it before, I'll say it again: I knew eFuse would mean a diminished number of ROMs and a smaller dev community but I was honestly astonished at how small it is. I'm hoping the Matt churns out his Unleashed 3 here real soon as that would be the perfect basis for a kitchen. Having a good, solid kitchen would be all that we'd need to see some more good, non-Blur ROMs pop up.

I am from eris also and I made roms for myself (not for the public). It was a great community and I did a lot of beta testing for the developer of white widow rom series ( which was a big hit).
I wish some devs would move over or we atleast get a kitchen...

well how were the first few miui roms ported to previous devices, and how can we do that for our D2s? im interesting in helping in any way i can. it sickens me, this is the first device ive ever had to have less than a few roms to play with.
Edit: foot in mouth.
I guess I could PM the evo developer who ported it over... ill try and to that later tonight

You can thank Moto for locking the bootlader and making us jump through hoops and using work arounds to get what we want out of our devices. If we had an unlocked bootloader then we could just install a new kernel but I assume new devices will have similar securities on them so at least from moto get used to working around until someone on the inside slips the keys.
Just made the jump to the Droid X and wondering if custom Roms are available or if I chose a lemon that's been passed by. PPCG have about 1000 posts for the phone itself. Looks like Moto phones wont work on HTC roms and such. I'm pretty lost on the issue as I've spent years on winmo and never had to worry about custom roms. now I am. What's the status of the Droid X for development and life? Is it gone already and I should get a refund?
It's all here.

Rubix 1.9.5 is pretty good. GummyJar 2.5 is great. And Liberty 1.0 which is more of an extension of GummyJar is by far the best.
Hey armus, I'm new to the Droid X also but it looks like there is plenty of development going on. I'm using the liberty rom (you can find it in the development section) its only on version 1.0 but its running flawlessly on my phone. You will need to download the Droid x bootstrapped from the marketplace (I think it was 1.50) but its worth it. I was using gummyJAR until liberty came out just a few days ago.

I use Apex 1.3.1
There is usually a good amount of development done for this phone. When it came out the bootloader was looked at as a obstacle that couldn't be overcome....we now have root, themes, custom ROM's and overclocking... Pretty much everything people look for when they want to mod... only thing we are missing is custom kernels (CMod) which would be awesome... but not a deal breaker. Aliasxerog on twitter is working on developing a new init.. So hope for the bootloader hasn't been given up either.
The best ones in my opinion are fission and liberty. Hey both have an app that allows for many easy customization options

Not even that close. Yet.
I actually came over from the Samsung Captivate. I do miss the wonders of custom kernels, but frankly, Liberty gives me everything I want from my X, so I've come to realize the locked bootloader is not a big deal. If they crack it, great. If not, I'm sure the devs will keep cranking out amazing tweaks. You can also find some good info on X ROM's over at droidforums.net. Good community here. I don't regret my switch to the X one bit.
There was a ROM that was from the Droid Incredible, but it got "removed per request"....so would anybody be willing to port it? I really love the Droid's and would love a ROM. Or is there a ROM that is like the Droid Incredible? Thanks!!
