Lower Price for T-Mobile HD2 - HD2 General

I was in a Wal-mart store yesterday and saw the HD2 for sale at $48.88 with a 2-year plan. And I thought I got a great deal when I got mine online from Wal-mart a couple of weeks ago for $79.99. Oh well.
What this tells me is that the HD2 is not selling well. I have not checked at any T-Mobile stores, so I don't know if they are still holding to the $199 price for a 2-year plan. I doubt they will be able to keep it up much longer with the new Samsung phone coming out, and other phones coming out as well.

At the last time I check they are still holding to the $199 price.

You can almost always get the phone cheaper if you use Amazon or Wirefly.

I am one of the folks who considered buying one after seeing the sale on TMOUS's site for 149 after $50 mail in rebate-which made me consider to check elsewere for sales...Radioshack was already sold out, and Walmart had the $48.88 price for a renewal...I am now a happy owner of an HD2!
I was going to buy it anyway, just a matter of when I had the money and willingness to wait for a back to school sale. If anything, the sales are to clear way for the WM7 phones on the way...but I wanted WM6.5 anyway.

Evo 4G off contract price?

I see $450 being thrown about but come on, that's too good to be true. I called Best Buy and was quoted $700.
sprint email
the sprint email i received said $499 was the price...direct from sprint...see my post under evo 4g launch event...i just left best buy and they told me they have nothing on the pricing yet!! (even though i was going to pre-order!!...they said it is whatever the rebate price from sprint ($199))

actually retail$450.$150 instant discount,u pay $300 up front then u get back $100 mail in rebate that leaves to $199 with new activation.
Wouldn't be surprised if there's a lot of misinformation floating out there, but I called a Sprint Store directly and they informed me the retail price is $449. He had to put me on hold to call corporate. $450 is ridiculous for something like this, and I still don't quite believe it.
What sucks even more is my 30 day window closes on June 2nd!! But if I can sell a brand new hero for $200 I won't mind fronting the other $250.
When the EVO was announced at CTIA I immediately signed up for news updates at the Sprint EVO site. Yesterday I received a promotional email FROM SPRINT that says "...$449.99 - $150.00 (two-year activation) - $100.00 (mail-in rebate) = $199.99 (final price).". I literally just now copy and pasted that quote from the email!
So, will Best Buy offer it at the same price or not? I'm ashamed to say, when I was there pre-ordering it this afternoon, I was assured that pre-orders were for unsubsidized phones as well as new service (or upgrades) but I forgot to ask what the non-discount price was because I assumed it was the same. Now I'm wondering...
I just pre-ordered my Evo at BestBuy today and didn't even think to ask what retail was. I just assumed it was the $450 like Sprint said.
Sure hope I'm right. I thought it was too good to be true as well but coming out of Sprint's mouth it was hard not to pay full price.
I preordered at bestbuy too.
occasionally they mess up and give me the lower out of contract price but either way...I'm buying this phone!
Return it

I have heard that what people are doing in a situation like yours, is that they are just going to return it, get another phone (like the moment or something) and then return it again for the EVO. Sure you'll have to pay restocking fees, but it will cost less then selling your Hero.
449 is probably the starting price based on signing a 2 year contract. It will likely be higher if you are going with a non-contract outright purchase. Our prices at The Shack work that way at least.
With Sprint from the past, whatever the price is before they apply the discount for new service, new line, or upgrade is usually what the price of the phone is. It is a little hard to believe this amazing phone is $450 but I've noticed one thing android phones tend to be cheaper than their WM counterparts, not always but usually. With that said I'm sure Sprints plan is to keep as many customers as possible as well as get more with this phone and they can always make it back with the cost of the plan. I also went to pre-order mines from best buy today but before I commit to it I wanted to make sure what the unsubsidized price would be but unfortunately the guy helping didn't know. He just said it would probably be about 600-700. The email as stated though says $450 so before I committed I wanted to find out what the real price will be before I commit to a higher price than what Sprint is actually selling for since I just used my upgrade in January for the Hero so I have to wait until next January. I have had the experience depending on who you deal with that even if you aren't eligble for an upgrade they would still sell you the phone at the upgrade price. Also a post above stated that they were going to get the 100 rebate still, is that even possible without it being a new activation or upgrade or were they just helping you out?
Chatted with Sprint rep today via website and confirmed...
...that the off-contract price is $449. If this turns out to be true...that's FU*KING GREAT!!! I really hope this phone ends up being the real deal. This could be an all-out effort from Sprint to extend what potentially is the hottest phone of 2010 to anyone who's interested at great price whether new customer or otherwise. Gain new customers and stop the bleeding of existing ones...makes sense.
there also seems to be a very gradual shift away from outrageous off-contract prices (FTC pressure maybe?)... nokia smartphones have been reasonably priced off contract (gsm models anyway) for some time now, and while 450 is a bit low it doesn't seem impossible.
Yeah, I'm going back to BestBuy today to cancel my preorder. Their are just too many rumors of BB charging $600+. Hopefully I will have luck on my side on June 4 when I go to the Sprint store to buy one.
$599 off contract confirmed at BB.$450 at Sprint. My Sprint store isn't doing preorders.. looks like I'll be taking the fourth off from work.

$450 from Sprint directly. Periord. End of story. Other retailers such as Best Buy and RadioShack have the ability to raise the price if they want, and it has been confirmed that Best Buy will be gouging it to $600. It has been reported that RadioShack will only charge the standard $450.
Can anyone confirm the 450 in writing from a sprint store after you paid for a pre-order?
I will go to 20 sprint stores in my area if one will do that for me.
THANKS!!

Yeah, I've printed a copy of that announcement from a link someone posted to be safe but what I'm most concerned with is trying to get a pre-order confirmed at that price. I don't want to have to wake up crazy early and then hope that they don't try to screw me that morning of by telling me they are only selling to upgrade customers since those are the people they make money off of. That could very well happen, that's exactly why I want to pre-order.
Appears that corp stores are NOT taking pre-orders. If anyone finds out different please post about your story.
Thanks
Will bb price match?

Awsome deal...

Well i was able to get the vibrant for Tmobile for 64.99 with 2 year commitment with $20 unlimited data loyalty plan, No upgrade/ activation fee, and free 3 day shipping and intant rebate. I was offered same deal on all 5 of my lines but will only take it up on one since i want to save the other upgrades for future phone releases. Only bad part is i wont get the vibrant until tuesday .
Im thinking of picking up one at tmobile tomorrow for retail price which is$439 to play with until mine comes in and then just return it, but i dont think tmobile will like that much.
Just really happy to get such a great deal and looking foward to android coming from the iphone platform

He has 5 lines. Phone companies always treat people based on how much they pay a month. The more you pay on your phone bill the more likely you are to get deals and fee's waived.
Also I see this confusion a LOT. $439 vs $499. It seems the $439 price is only for current customers, or people well into their contract. The $499 is for everyone else.

Ive been with tmo for 8 years and have 5 lines so im sure that helped. Basicly all my lines are out of contract and had previous considered going to ATT for new iphone. Tmobile offered free upgrades on all lines for any phone they had at that time with all fees waived. But they didnt have the vibrant out yet, so they told me to call once it was out to see what deal i could have. I called once it became availabe and they offered to waived all fees, bump up shipping and and additional $100 credit to regular upgrade. They ended up giving me additional $135 because i mentioned my upgrade only said 164.99, which was different from their $199, so they just added $35 to match the price.
Tmobile takes care of their customers! I have no issues being on a commitment with them.
Nice ^^^

I paid $499.99
i paid 499.99 also, and i've been with t-mobile for 9 years with 4 phones.
got one offered for $429+taxes (~$460) as my early upgrade price (i bought my mt3g aug last year).
moved on to the retentions folks who brought it down to $249 + taxes, which is only $50 more than a brand new contract, i was sold on that. had them make the note on my account and picked it up in-store locally for the same price! =)
loving the phone so far, big upgrade from the mytouch3g.
can't wait to get CM6 on this baby.
btw, im having market issues currently - "download failed" error. was initially able to download a couple apps, but none now despite several reboots.

Best Price For Atrix

So I have a Captivate now, and I was wondering where I can get the best price?
I'd be using my girlfriends upgrade and she would get my Captivate, so I'd be upgrading and not a new purchase.
Should I just try to talk Amazon/AT&T into giving me a larger discount or price matching with something such as Costco's 119.00 dollar deal?
I got my atrix from costco yesterday for 119. I love it. So fast and flash plays SUPeR smooth and crystal clear. Att wontacknowledge the costco price unless you get real lucky and are getting a whole new line as opposed to upgrAding (since it gives more commision).
I went to a bunch of atts first and gave up since 149 was the lowest I was able to get them to lower it. At the moment, costco will have the best price and I doubtany store would match them.
The CostCo price looks great, but don't you need a membership at CostCo to buy the phone from it?
I got mine last week at the At&T website for $100+tax, next day delivery. I posted the link in some other thread...
If you arent eligible for upgrade att is the best price 500

I was in an AT&T store trying to get a better price on a dock and the salesman told me that with this being a high profile release and only the first week management has been given instruction not to give away discounts so easily. They have an approved reseller list that they can match price from, otherwise good luck. I know Amazon had the phone for $129 if you were a new contract, otherwise $149 for an upgrade. Unless Costco is on their list and you have proof of the price and the contract terms being an upgrade, I'm doubting your luck with AT&T or Amazon to get lower than $149.

Costco isn't actually the company that sells the phone, it is membership wireless in conjunction with costco. I ordered 2 today through them and do not have a costco membership. Order processed successfully. $127.91 after taxes, etc.
So you ordered them via phone or website?
Look in the local classifieds.
I was able to get an unopened one for $420.
Retail store employee won it in a sales competition and didn't want to part with his iPhone.
For those who are already with AT&T I've had quite a bit of luck calling in to them. Talk to the Customer Relations Dept. (this is the dept. for cancellations). Told'em I was going to leave if they couldn't do better on the price of the phone. They ended up selling it to me for $125, free shipping, free activation, and $180 credit on my cell bill.

When was your contract up?
I talked them down to $299 online, and not eligible for new contract upgrade until 2/12.
I then had another opportunity arise with adding a line to my account. it is strictly a dummy line for business calls, and they switched me to a family plan with combined minutes, etc. They allowed me to use new line phone upgrade on MY number, even though it was only a dummy line being added. I brought in a print-out from amazon for $149, she said they only price match best buy, but gave me $25 off. so basically cheated the system and they were ok with it and walked away with the phone for $175

It was set to end in October of 2011. Typically through AT&T your eligible for an upgrade after 1 year. I have gone the rounds multiple times on multiple phones and have found that calling in to them always produces the best results.

Bell Atrix New Price Reduction: 1 week after its release

Hey everyone
So like a lot of people I was an early adopter of the device and purchased it right away on a new 3 year term for 169.
I was a previous client so i had gone through retention and had recieved an additional 50 on my phone so i only paid about 120.
Today Bell released a new promotion for the phone a 3 year term to sell for 69.
I called up bell right away spoke to customer service and retention. The issue is that according to them this limited discount is for new activations only. which is pretty bs if you ask me but in any case these are the current options without spending hours on the phone with retention and actually getting the discount.
You can return the phone now for "buyers remorse" and resign and get the phone at the reduced priced. the problem is you lose the right to grandfather yourself in with your prior plan. so it means you lose all you had before.
In my case i went through retention and recieved quite a few reductions and changes. if i went back for the discounted new price, id be signing a new contract and new terms.
Basically if youre new to bell it works fine to go and do this. if youre a previous customer it may not be in your best interest to try to save the 100. obviously its aggravating but its the price we pay to be the first!
Other than that you can probably sit and complain and speak to a supervisor to get the additional 100 which in all honesty i did not have the patience to do considering i spent 4 hours total on the phone wit them the day of to get the phone!
I'm guessing that Bell's massive marketing efforts didn't convince enough people to buy it at $169.99.
It'd be nice if the off contract price got reduced to $499. I bet you a lot of people that bought it for $599 would go and return their phone to buy it back at the reduce price, lol.
I bought my Atrix on release day. I called customer service and in less than 15 minutes had my account credited the $100 difference. It was easier than I thought.
Sent from my Atrix using Tapatalk.
Good to know about the price redeuction. Anyone selling on Kijiji will also have to reduce their sell price. Might be a good time to buy one off contract through a Kijiji seller. Oh and don't worry, I have bought and sold enough phones on Kijiji so I know a "Like New" or "BNIB" box scenario all too well. If it's not factory sealed, don't touch it. And if the box is open, then the offer gets reduced.
Price is again 169.95
Do you think a sale will happen any time soon again?!!!
yeah its back up to $169 at bell and best buy.
Guess it was a short promotion.
Glad I got mine for 0$ on the last day.

LG V20 on Sprint for $0.34 (net after discount and freebies)

http://slickdeals.net/share/android_app/t/9231835
$349 on 2 year agreement + $200 off for old phone + free headphones (msrp of $149) = basically free (assuming the headphones really are worth the $150
That's honestly not bad. Although keep in mind that in order to get the headphones you have to go to the lg promotion website and type in your IMEI and take a pic of your receipt and upload it there, similar to the process of getting the gear fit or as card with the Note 7 a few months back. And because of that it takes a few weeks to process.
How the hell did you get them to let you do a normal subsidized purchase? They did away with that a few years ago! lol If this was still around I'd be still buying my phones this way instead of being forced into stupid leases... I loved the ability to buy my phone for like, 300 bucks... then when a new phone came out, I just sell the current phone on ebay or something and get almost double what I paid. then use that money to outright purchase the 'new' phone. Best method of buying phones period! lol. Who cares if its a 'two year agreement' because the phone was basically an out right full purchase since with no monthly payments, meaning the phone is YOURS to do with as you please. The agreement is just basically you saying you'll use their services for 2 years. So after that first year, and that new phone comes out, you can just walk in and buy the new phone and activate it no problem. Did this for YEARS until they stopped the subsidizing D:
The $200 phone rebate does not apply to on-contract purchases AFAIK.
I also got the exact same rebates that nest75068 got. I picked mine up from Best Buy on to 26th, so my $200 was a Best Buy gift card. I believe that as long as you are on an older contract they will still honor the 2 year contract. When I was purchasing mine the other day I was in store for 3.5 hours arguing that the 2yrs were still active for my account. I had 6 people in cellular department telling me no they were not. They finally called their Sprint rep after 3 hours and he told them to just TRY to ring it up, which I also told them soon as I got there. Guess what, it rang up fine and everyone working couldn't believe it. I think it's scary that no one in the department knew this and none of them ever saw a V20. Between returning my Note 7 twice and buying the V20 I was in the store a full 10 hours. All the promotions are nice but not sure that it makes up for all the frustration & aggravation.

I believe this is incorrect. I just ordered this on Sprint Wednesday. The V20 is not offered on a 2 year contact and the $200 off for phone trade-in is only when you select to pay with 24 month installments. At least, this is what was told to me by the 10+ representatives I talked to trying to figure this mess out.

Interesting. They wouldn't let me buy it that way and I always do 2 year contracts.
False. Just like others are saying, $200 buy back ONLY for 24 months installation and not the 2-year contract. I've called and spoke with several telesales and website clearly shows just that.
Like I stated above, I also was able to purchase on 2 year. If you log into your sprint account it should show options to buy as 24 monthly payments, full price, and mine gave me option for 2 year contract for $350. I had to do some arguing to get any one to remotely listen to what I had to say. I also did get $200 from BestBuy with the 2 year contract pricing.
I doubt there's any hope of getting the contract and the $200 discount via Sprint. Best Buy, on the other hand, might be worth a visit and the hassle.

Good luck, best buy in northern California wouldn't even bother if they hear 2-year contract. I was told that sprint wont allowed Bestbuy to process any 2-year contract starting the beginning of October. Only option for us who choose to stick to 2 years upgrade is via Sprint website or over the phone.
