ORB streaming not working after upgrade

All,
when I stream from mycast.orb.nl and try to open a playlist or a file I get: "This protected file type is not supported on this device, and will not be downloaded."
Any suggestions?
I have allready installed TCMP.....but it won't help, I'm on the latest 2.05 test WWE rom.....

Yep, me too.
It happens for all videos and music that I've tried to stream (WindowsMedia.com, for example). Haven't actually tried any locally stored files, 'cause all my music is in .ogg format, and they seem to work in Pocket Player.
I've gone back to the 2.3 ROM for now. I did condider using the Swedish AKU3.3 ROM with the English patch, but I can't be bothered with the hassle for now, and the AKU3.3 upgrade wasn't so amazing, so I'm happy to wait for a final HTC version...

Orb is working fine with the 2.06 Cingular ROM. Sorry I don't have an an answer for you

Good to know that the Cingular ROM is ok, I guessed that it was a problem specific to this ROM. I'm looking forward to seeing a fully functioning 3.3 ROM without all the extra bloat now then...

Same here, thanks, I will flash the SA rom....and hope for a good AKU 3.3.....

Did you remove the cingular proxies? because mine wouldn't stream from orb or others (cnn, bbc, etc.) without doing the reg hack disabling the proxies.

No, I changed nothing.

using cingular rom as well, works great on wifi connection and gprs/3g connection, no editing of settings needed, other than switching what connection to use so it connects correctly to either wifi or gprs.

you need to get rid of that rom the 2.5 one.... i had the same problems with all that.. i changed it to the cingular 2.6 one and perfect it works... the only problem i am having is when i download videos off the internet it does not give me the option of where to save it to.. i want to save it to my SD card but idk how to change it?

any update ?
This must be a PIE configuration (registry) issue, right ? The behavior reminds me of a "system policy" on desktop windows.
Minimo can download the .asx file fine; PIE instead displays the dialog:

IM+ not working ON TOuch-IT 2.3 ROM!!!

I payed $40 for this program and it was working fine on the stock WM6 rom that came with the T-Mobile Wing.
Now, on the touch it 2.3 rom it installs and connects fine but there is no text box. I've tried a dozens times reinstalli and nothing seems to work... any ideas anyone?

Reinstall your stock rom, there is stock T-Mobile RUU floating around...If you look in the "customizing" group, you can find a standalone plugins (cube,home plug cabs) you can install on top of your stock rom. Looks just like Touch-it minus some apps that come with touch it.
I would do the page pool mod on the stock rom. I am running a stock rom on my wing with page pool mod and the home plug. It rums perfect. I had lots of bugs on my phone as well with the touch it, like they say "Every install is a differant one on a phone"
So, some people might have bugs and some might not have any...
also uninstall the OZ client,,that crap wont quit after its started!
Plus other useless apps.
MY IM+ runs perfect, the only problem is this new version does not want to work with the proxy settings. I need to find the older version!
Are you running proxy? If yes, what version IM+ are u using?

Did you run the Network Wizard config tool to set up your internet connections etc...? If your phone isn't configured to connect to the internet, nothing that uses internet will work.

Hmm... I installed the official USA RUU T-Mobile ROM onto my wing... MY IM+ now works but it is very nnoticably slower then the touch it rom.
i wish there was a way around this so I can use IM+ on the touch it rom

do the following on your stock rom
4mb page pool
over clock to 260mhz using battery status

i had the same problem, i switched to Agile Messenger and it works perfectly

Streaming Media Player for Ignito

I have been trying to track it down so I can get the iPlayer working, but every file I install I get a message stating that there arent correct certificates of files are missing.
But it also said that before I had tried to install it.
Anyone got any ideas on where I can get the HTC Streaming Media Player that will install on the XDA Ignito ROM?

in the same boat, im not at the state where i want to update my rom, the stock one seems stable.
i'd love to get this working though

I've got the same problem i wonder if O2 are blocking the streaming media app. Seams odd as its on the Orbit 2.

my other phone is the orbit 2, on the stock rom streaming media does not work. update the rom it does. it's either a settings issue or the software itself

I like the o2 ROM, so I don't really want to flash it, but I am really running out of ideas.
I've tried installing Streaming Media from a link on here about the Trinity, but I got the same message, I've tried running app unlocks with no joy. What have o2 done to this ROM?

just realised, im missing the app entirely!
it aint on the ignito rom at all

Not really relevant in this thread, I really want to know if anyone has managed to getting it working on an Ignito.
I think I might just have to flash it. But I think I will switch to the official HTC ROM.
I know the app is not on the ROM, but it is strange that I get the same message when I'm trying to stream straight off the iPlayer site or when I have installed the app and trying to run it from programs.

this vearios installs correctly, but won't connect via the network whan you try to stream. think this is a settings issue on the o2 uk rom, had this problem with stock o2 uk roms on other devices, hope it helps and if anyone gets it working please post?

I installed it, failed to find network, but it is a step further then I have got before. Not sure what would cause the error.
I will play with some settings and see what I can find out.

Where do you get PVPlayer, also, how do you make Opera recognise PVPlayer as the default streaming application, whenever I try and install a different streaming media player, it still tries to open the HTC Streaming Media player, even if I uninstall it! I've tried changing as many registry entries as I can find, but must still be missing something.

Skymarket/ WMMarketplace for WM6.0/6.1

Here is a cab for 6.0/6.1 users for WM Marketplace or WM6.5 if its not installed in rom. I made it from 23053 skymarket oem pkg. Its for WWE only and only for devices that have a bootlauncher (IE no apache.) Let me know if it doesn't work on stock roms as its not signed as I'm not sure if signature is required but it will run on cooked roms with full kernel trust enabled.
Edit from reports it seems to run on stock roms too
Some reports that it errors if IE isn't default browser also.

Have they taken the site down? I keep getting a "Marketplace could not connect because the server is unavailable" message.

Marketplace has been closed today from 3 PM. I think they will open it with many apps included!

I just tried it using the app in my ROM.. It downloaded a new version, and connected to the Marketplace, but there's only about a dozen apps online atm, and almost no free ones...

I can admire my app online now!
Btw, it has a serious flaw. It doesnt require a PIN when purchasing something, thus anybody that may get his hands on your phone may start charging you as he likes.

Hi I have the ROM "Valkyrie XPERIO" (the latest version).
I have installed the CAB and when I click on it I get the message:
"Windows Marketplace for Mobile cannot connect. There may be a problem with the Marketplace service right now. Check your internet connection and try again later."
I know the internet connection is fine, I didn't have marketplace built into the ROM so just wondered if someone has seen this error message?

Works good on HTC Raphael with official 6.1 ROM, but very poor choice of apps for now.

Works fine on HTC Touch running NFSfan's v14 ROM. Thanks man!

It's been open since at least yesterday.

I have IE default browser, I use a HTC Touch Elfin with a Spanish ROM
I have installed Marketplace in the main memory.
Installed correctly but when i press the shorcut in programs, nothing appears...

Yeah, I saw that. You have to wonder what the hell the devs of that have been smoking. £10 for a calculator? <bleep> off!
Not impressed with the startup so far though.. Very small selection of titles (I count 39 apps in total. 39!!), and almost NO free stuff, not even trial versions!

Is there a chance to have it working with Opera as browser ? Today all cooked ROM are using Opera instead of IE...

I have the stock htc wwe 6.1 rom installed on my touch hd, but for the life of me i cant get flash to work on bbc news site....
I have tried fixoperaflash, diffrent opera versions etc(opera 9.5, 9.7 and 10.) I have tried skyfire, but that has now (temp) closed down and for how long i have no idea.
I know it works in most 6.5 roms, but they drain batteries...and i need mine to last a few days, a la 6.1 roms.
Any idea`s ?

No it isnt, just gone to the site and all is working. try clearing your cache and try again

Try going to the skyfire site itself, its borked big time, the first google link is dead, support pages have all gone...and even the download link on parts of the site you can get at are dead....as i said the project is at a hold for uk peeps, as they are doing stuff "server side".
still does not help, because now i have upped my rom to 6.5 skyfire now says i have a limited connection etc....however opera is fine with my "limited" 20mbs wifi connection or even my 7mbs O2 mobile connection
Still cant see bbc news video`s though....
