Hi there, I am posting on behalf of my aunty who is currently experiencing a problem with her Wildfire. Myself, my uncle and my girlfriend all have a game called 'Friction Mobile' and my aunty loves it, so she has just bought a Wildfire, but it was a European (german to be precise) phone. For some reason, Friction Mobile is not in the market. Could someone with a non-european (UK, USA, Aus etc) Wildfire please do me a huge favour and check if Friction Mobile is in the market as I have narrowed it down to resolution issues or European market not having the game.
This will only take 30 seconds of your time, and your help will be greatly appreciated.
Thank you
Jordan

You can try instal this from appbrain.com/app/pbf.android.animation.first but first you must instal appbrain widget from market.

You may soft root your phone and then use market enabler to download the game.

I am hoping someone can help me. I would really like to try this application out, but as I am using a Milestone on the AT&T network it does not show up in the market. It is a free application so I am not trying to steal anything, I just want to try it out.
If someone could extract thier apk and post it I would be very grateful. Or if you have tried this application and can recommend a better live sports score app that I can find I would be willing to try that out instead. It is just hard as many of the copy protected apps are not shown in "my" market. I am currently using SportsTap, but as others have reported it tends to suck battery.
Thanks,
HuckFinn
The app you mentioned is not very good IMHO.
Try ESPN (Live Scores?) or Soccer Livescores by firstrowRIA, if you are a football fan. If you only want football, then use Soccer Livescores. If you are a football fan and a fan of other sports, like rugby or cricket, use ESPN.
I'm having the same problem... I had my Samsung Captivate running 2.1 on Tmobile and installed it with no problem. Once I installed 2.2 and put my AT&T SIM card in, I can no longer find the app in the market place.
Is there someway to trick the phone into letting you see ALL apps in the market place?
Hi guys
HTC Wildfire today have lanched in UAE and they are selling it for 190$ ( one week only )
without contract
the orginal price is 380$
Is it a good deal ?
Do you advice me to buy it ?
Do it have problems ?
Please answer quickly
thanks
Pretty good deal, you should go for it.
Do it have problems ?
The only - is the low res screen and bad cpu.
But there is great custom ROMS and nice overclock kernels, and soon the CyanogenMod 6.0 will be released for the Wildfire.
Buy it!
If I recall correctly the UAE version has no android market.
Can i install Windows Live Messenger in it ?
I think its possible to get the market installed, correct me if I'm wrong... And if so, yes, you can have msn on it.

Problems: Not really that much, only that not all games can run on the phone, and some can but run very slowly.
Yes, you install all games and apps you want?
I think you'll have to root the phone to manage to get the market on, if there's no market on the phone when you buy it. Its very easy to do, just download UnRevoked, plug in you phone and the program will pretty much do everything else. Then I recommend you installing a custom ROM, like openFire or Wildpuzzle ROM, and soon we will have CynaogenMod for Wildfire, which will make your phone alot faster.
I found 3 or 4 apps in the market that are MSN/ Live messengers. I personally use the Trillian app, than is a universal messenger app. It world on yahoo,MSN,gmail, even Skype networks.

And I personally use eBuddy.
With the new openfire ROM I'd reccomend rooting and installing it, 5MFLOPS is almost twice stock speed.
Yep, just had the openFire 2.0 update, and damn. Its like a new phone, its awesome!
So I would just like to announce and possibly help out any of you "hardcore" mobile gamers who may have ran into the issue with paid games on the android market, mainly EA games. When I went to take some time to race my new Lancer in NFS Shift©, I realize the game had uninstalled itself, as well the market had told me I have not paid for it, originally I assumed I could navigate to "My Apps", install from there and all would be we'll, I was wrong. Ill spare you the long story and offer you the simple solution,
Downgrade your market to 3.xxx.27,
Simple, right?
Hope I helped someone, take care and happy gaming. (;

Hi all,
i have updated my android market some time ago to v3.0.27, but when i load it, it goes straight to apps section, and i cant get to the homescreen where you have the different categories, i.e. apps, games, books, movies?? any ideas??
im running cool sensation v6a if that helps.
Unfortunately if you are in the UK then the new market only lets you buy and download apps, books and movies don't work
You can however download MarketEnabler from the market which lets your phone simulate different sim cards from different countries and you can choose a US one.
When I tried it it still only let me use books...
I'm using the original market because its slower and i don't want to buy books. The only thing I live is the YouTube video previews.
Dan,
Hey thanks for the answer mate. Never thought to try ME...... Cheers!

I thought the same too but I wasn't too bothered anyway. I kinda forgot about MarketEnabler lol
Hello everybody, first post here but been a lurker here for the past few weeks with my new s3.
Ever since I moved overseas from the US their has been many limitations of the web, the play store in my country, i dont mean to be mean, is complete $%#@, most of the s3 owners are perverts, the most downloaded app is something about Naked Ladies. Anyway, I have a rooted phone and I really don't want to use any kind of VPN, their slow, unreilable, and make me put on a passcode which I don't want.
If their is any tweak or hack to get the US playstore that would be wonderful to share, plus I have a US credit card and make sure my phone doesn't use my location services.
Thanks for reading (=

Play store should use localization from the firmware, me thinks. Also, checks build.prop.
If you got a international SGS3 one easy solution would be to flash a European (UK could be best for you) firmware and CSC, then setting localisation to UK. Or, you can flash a AOSP firmware which should be location "free" (except for localisation in settings for UI/Keyboard etc). The AOSP/AOKP builds around are still not 100% perfect though, if you care about such things.
Google for market enabler...
it might give you the apps available in the US but not the services like books, music, movies...

If you can, may please post a link of one?
And what if you already have a custom rom?
I used Market enabler but used a VPN to get free scrabble from US play store but uninstalled them after that, but can still see scrabble in account

Market enabler is the way to go. The play store region is determined by a combination of carrier & country code from your SIM + geo-IP.

Here ya go... enjoy. BTW what country are you in?
http://db.tt/fAIzvXTc
I'm in China and I have the same problem. Market enabler allows you to SEE the apps from another country but you still can't buy them. So it's a little bit anoying. If you go on Google play from a computer you can see all the apps.
I've bought apps fine with the market enabler.
