I found no setting in this phone to set email gateway number. So every time I want send sms to someone e-mail, I need to enter manually: [email protected] MY_SMS_TEXT_HERE and send it to gateway phone number.
My Sony Ericsson has place to enter gateway number under Text message Options, so don't need every time enter person e-mail first into sms, just choose contact from phonebook and use e-mail instead number, it automatically sends through gateway, not as normal sms.
Now, my question is, does there exist some program for winmo that can send sms with possibility to set gateway number? It's really annoying write manually it all the time.
edit: I found this post here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=1987708#post1987708
but there is a problem - instead short code I use international number and it does not fit into registry, I can't enter so many numbers.

hi im new to WM5, i used to have a nokia smart phone. i wanted to know how i can send sms messages to muliple mobile phones quickly. without having to continually going through my contact list and selcting each one, one at a time. thanks.
At the "To" line, type the name (or some letters) of the first person, select the contact from the list that appears, press enter, a ";" appears after the name, which means you can enter another contact after that.
Good luck with the Windows Mobile Experience!
re: send sms messages
thanks alot. by the way is there a way to set up a group of conacts. to speed things up.
easiest way is to set them in outlook

Im getting the following error on my Sprint 700wx whenever i try to text an email address: "Could not send message. The message center number or the email center number is invalid. Please contact the wireless operator." Was this issue ever solved? Or am i doomed to send emails thru outlook only?
"text an email address"
if you by text mean sms then it will not work
one can only sms telephone numbers
and most countries only mobile phone numbers
Rudegar where do you get your misinformation? you can send sms to email addresses all day every day. and vice versa im on verizon and if you email from your home computer my mobile [email protected] i will get it as a sms!!! and if i sms your email you will get it because of verizon's sms to email server. to answer malibu's question your settings in tools or options are incorrect sprint does have a message center number (unlike verizon) and you need to obtain it. its here in the forum somewhere. then go to manual settings and edit the mcn kk. unfortunately for verizon the palm threaded is just a good sms threader and doesnt allow sending email or mms but it does receive them. hope this answers your question.
then thats a service your cellphone provider offers
it's not std
thx, im on the hunt for the sprint mcn...
if you have access to an pop3 email service you can just add that acount
and use it when connected to gprs
Hi,
I have a question.
I synced my contacts from my MS Outlook via active sync to my phone.
When I create a new SMS, I key in the name of the recipient who has both email address and phone number. When i select it and send the message, it sends out as MMS instead of SMS.
Is there a way to set default to send all in text SMS and not MMS? this does not happen if the recipient does not have an email address in the contact.
Tried calling HTC hotline, they don't seem to understand the issue.
Can someone please advise?
no one encounter this?
i tried creating the dummy contacts on the phone. it will show up but sync from outlook, it will not work.
Hello,
actually I plan / search a app that send automatical all sms to my email account and with a answere from the email account the device send a message to the number.
It´s that possible?
Input SMS --> Send mail (Subject = phone number)
Answere --> Send mail to device (Subject = phone number) --> device send sms to number in subject.
regards from germany,
Bibox
Can't you just send an SMS to someones email addy anyway? Thought I used to do that all the time...
Sent from my TBolt using my f***king thumbs...
Receiving the sms and sending an email can be done using tasker. Don't know how to do the other part.
It kinda exists:

Not quite what you described but close enough. You'll be then to forward the email to whatever address you like
I'm posting this here because it seems to be an issue specific to the messaging app on my S4.. I have ONE contact that, when I try to send an MMS to, can never find the right person, unless I go to a chat with her and attach it after the fact. Here's the way I typically do it (and what happens):
- Open Gallery and find a photo
- Choose Share and Messaging
- Start typing her name in the To: field
At this point, her name will show up, BUT the name that shows up only has an email address associated with it and no phone number. If I send, it sends her an email and no MMS.
If I open the Contacts app, her name shows up twice: once with just the email address, and once with all the contact info I have.
If I log in to Gmail (where I normally go to reconcile all these quirks) and look at her in contacts, her name shows up once with all the contact info.
WTF do I need to do? Where is the email-only contact coming from??
