So he knows can easily identify each key on the keypad based upon where the market is.
Similar to how touch-typers know where to hit based upon the raised marks on the F and J keys.

you need to make the gsensor more sensitive
Fun app.
On Touch pro the graphics flicker, though.
It would be fun if you made another version for shaving, you'd just need to change the graphics and angles of activation.
Can I request that you have an option to turn off the vibration in the next release?
I feel like soo much vibration will damage my phone...
Really nice app!!! and so funny too !!! Its like the one on the iphone!! =)

Sure, i'll just wait till any more suggestions come in - I don't see that many TBH so perhaps these mods & improve the redraw / flicker then I'll update.

Funny thing! When testing- i found the vibration actually had an effect on the GSensor - its not that i "desensitised" it, (i think I settled on a poll time of 100ms and rotation of approx +/-60 degrees from face down). I may take another look!
Thanks everyone for the kind comments.

Hey all,
I'm sure several of us are running ROMs which offer the vanilla lockscreen like below:

Above, we can see the icon represents the 'silent' function.
However, I have seen other lockscreens whereby the icon on the right hand side has been changed to someting else, for example: Vibrate Only [which is what I'm after], or launch Music Player, etc.
Anyone know how it's done?
I've been searching for that too, to change the silent button into vibrate but I haven't found anything yet
I hope someone can help us to change that
I think widgetlocker can do that
I'd rather change it without using another app, like changing something in the lockscreen code
I think it has to be changed in the android.policy.jar file since the fix for the lockscreen is coded inthere , but I don't know where and what I would have to change since I don't know much about the android coding

Sorry to disappoint, I found that screen in either one of these threads, both are a 'post your homescreen' type thread:
- http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=665991&page=152
I can't remember which page, sorry. But it will have been in the most recent 15 pages of either thread.
so, i have found from where the screenshot came from.
It's from a member who runs a Froyd Villain rom on his hero and the rom is android 2.2
Now, turns out that in android 2.2 this is default the sliding to vibrate instead of silent (tested it out on the android emulator)
I have downloaded a 2.2 rom version and now I will try to find the differences between the 2.1 an 2.2 lockscreen files and hope I will be able to change it
^ thats pretty good going, nice one! I didn't know it was standard in Android 2.2.
hi, actually I just got this launcher from the other thread, and i already test it on my HD2 android,it works flawlessly...and nice as well...just sometimes you scroll through some pages,it'll a bit buggy...and press HOME button will lead to force close,in some situations....OK...personally,i like this more than samsung galaxy launcher...it includes widgets...awesome...Tested it on shubcraft v1.5
Click here, It'll direct you to the original thread for more informations and download links...Enjoy and play around with it...
mate it works okay but the bottom bar (dock?) is not filling my screen, it's only to 3/4

Hi,mate...This situation didn't happen to me...Since I'm using shubcraft v1.5...If not mistaken you are using Hyperdroid build, right?I think this problem related to the screen density...I'm using the shubcraft default screen density (which is 240),it works like charm...You may try to adjust it,since Hyperdroid build using lower screen density(so you see more spaces on the homescreen...
Here are some tips about how to change the screen DPI...click here
Hope this works...you may give it a try,see it goes...If all else failed,You can refer back to your Hyperdroid build thread...Pongsters already listed down plenty of useful tips about his build...
Cheers...

The home and their widget only supports 240 dpi. If not everything looks wrong.

i have it working good on my hd2 mattc 1.7 rom
That would be sweet. Pretty much the only feature of my long gone jailbroken I*phone (sbsettings) that I miss was activating that screen with a swipe without exiting the focused application. It must be possible in android. Any info?
Quicksettings?
Sent from my Nexus One using Tapatalk
There is an app in the market called "Quick Settings" which can be placed in the Ongoing notification dropdown that is customizable to include everything on the power control widget and more.
I am a fan of "power strip", a great paid app.
Quick Settings is really nice. Thanks y'all.
FYI, I've also used NOTIFi by Sisedi Media. It's skinnable and has a polished look that's a little different from the normal android UI.
Try QuickDesk Beta. It's a single extra homescreen that you access by double tapping the home button. Can put any widgets or shortcuts that you can put on your home screen. That way, all you have to do is double tap your home button, use the power strip, then hit back to get out of QuickDesk Beta and you'll be back in your original app.
The MIUI ROM has this as a fixed element at the bottom of the drop down.

The amount of times i've wished I didn't have to return to Home Screen to toggle GPS / WIFI etc - this is the absolute perfect solution. If it had customisable entries where we could launch a task switcher - WIN WIN!
+1 hopefully.
Perhaps this thread should be moved to Andoid General for greater visibility?
Steve.
theres an app thats called "in app toggle wifi" or something where you just have to hold the search softkey for a couple of seconds. even better in that it is hidden.
A good alternative is quickdesk by ruqqq, I've set it to bring up its "screen" on home double tap.
quickdesk is awesome. Not only can use power control but any app that you want without leaving any application. love it
Just noticed that the galaxy tab has this too.

Yes it works!
You can change the brightness from the home screen without change any option or install any application.
Press on the notification bar (not open it) and after shows up with the date, just swype left or right to adjust the brightness!!!
Here is my video on youtube to see how it works:

Welcome to 2010 lol. (sorry!).
I think the correct way to do it is just to hold an area on the notification bar (not swype). left is less bright, right is more bright. (at least on latest fws it works like this).
This has been known since éclair. You must have auto brightness off for it to work though.
Thanks for sharing anyway, original thread has probably been lost in the folds. I'm sure there are plenty of new sgs users on here all the time. It is still one of the best smartphones on the market today, and now it's dirt cheap.
