i just upgrade my hero with hard spl (splhard1_update_signed.zip) from http://code.google.com/p/android-roms/wiki/Install_Hard_SPL
but after that my phone can't be turn on
what should i do ??
can anyone help me ??
From what i know hard spl's are device dependant, it dosent say anywhere that was for the hero, you have bricked your device, you will have to send it to htc for repair/replacement....
if you wanted hard spl for your hero you should of installed this one posted by modaco in the android development section

yeah htc can fix it, but if they figure out u bricked ur device trying to modify there bootloader then they may charge you, everything in the section named Hero Android Development is for gsm hero's the cdma ones have there own section
charge or not, i dont care,, hahahaha,, maybe tomorrow i will go to htc care,,
i just want to revive my herooooo,,, hahahha,,
so i can root it again,, wahhaha,,
*thanks and regards..
maybe i next time i must learn first from the expert, like you, hahaha,,
im far from an expert lol next time get all your mods ect from here at xda as we are the best lol
waaaaaaaaaaaaa,,, htc care didn't solve it,,, they say that the software didnt cause the brick,, and they assume that motherboard had broken.. its possible?
what a bad luck.. -_-0

There's a small chance you're motherboard died, but that would be a coincidence (hope I type it right I'm dutch so...)
But theres also the possibility they didn't look at the rom at all and diagnosed a faulty motherboard. Have you been honest about trying to flash it?
I'm no expert either but I don't think flashing a wrong hardspl can damage your device.
yeah,, i tell the htc care about updating my device,, there, they try update the rom too with their roms,, but failed of course,, coz device cant respons at all..
and i ask if there is possibility to flash the memory and try to recover with original/worked roms, but they just assume hardware cause it,, *-*
if they cant fixed it, they want to ship it to main office,, hahaha,,
what should i do next?

it says in the instructions to press the alt key, since only the g1 has a keyboard with an alt key i guess that is what the spl is for... also the term "hard spl" is used in the g1 scene afaik.
See post below!

Only if you want to brick your phone. It will need to be taken apart and rebuilt for the HD2 first so it has all the proper drivers in it.
Can we flash our HD2s with this ROM??? It would be awesome if we could!
so is this the next step to a flashable android rom for the hd2!!

In short no. This is just an RUU. It is nothing special in it's self. This is the same format as if you had downloaded the Rom Update for your HD2 from HTC.COM.
If you want to know how far we are with getting a Full build on to the NAND read this post http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=732160
to the OP you need to clarify what your posting before someone bricks there device
I also thing that title of this topic and first message should be changed to some more understandable way.
It looks like flashable ROM and it is in HD2 thread. It can be very confused for many people.

Because Because Because that dump can be ported to the hd2 and because because because this is a D E V E L O P M E N T forum.

I Agree but just to be sure
DO NOT FLASH THIS TO YOUR HD2 AS YOU WILL BRICK YOUR PHONE
THIS IS FOR THE HTC DESIRE HD (A.K.A. HTC ACE)
The Clue is in the title RUU_ACE
Right now thats, that. Still how long before some one either a) Asks if they can put this on the HD2 or b) bricks their phone
people.
DO NOT flash this rom into your hd2 or you will brick it.
just wait for our developers to prepare it for use on our hd2.

Dear Developers & Visitors,
I just visited the XDA forum for a few day, I found that
The HTC HD2 and HTC HD T-Mobile are difference.
and if someone flash the ROM wrong, the device will become brick.
my suggestion : Why don't restructure the forum to specific like
- HTC HD2
- HTC HD2 TMOBILE US
- HTC ...
so it will easy for the member navigate to the right way without problem and safe..
if something wrong or problem about suggestion please let me know as i'm a newbie.
Jame2d
Thats the way the forum used to be organised and has recently been restructured..
The ROMS are still seperate........
TMOUS ROMS HERE
OTHER ROMS HERE
The thing you need to watch out for is flashing the wrong radio, never ever flash a .51. radio to a TMOUS....
But if you read up on what your doing first then this shouldnt be an issue.
Hope that helps.......
