Hi
I read theat the galaxy s have tempered glass!
I am thinking og buying the phone, but also read that the screen is plastic.
Can anyone confirm that it has a glass screen?
Thanks!

The screen in the video is not from a SGS or is it?
SGS screen IS made out of glass, but the display itself is not of course

Take a mallet to your SGS, prove to us that it doesn't have a glass screen
Sure, the AMOLED is flexible, but the GLASS SCREEN THAT COVERS IT isn't.

Believe it or not, but a screen protector increases the skin tension of the glass (like a laminate) and adds a lot of strength.
I once dropped an iphone from waist height onto a bitumen road, LCD screen first and it hit a rock right on the screen. Not a scratch on the screen (altho I needed to replace the screen protector) but the LCD and glass survived.
So IMO, screen protectors are an integral part to protecting the glass.
the horror!!!!!
My virgin eyes!!!
same i dropped my g1 once on concrete from 5 feet. It made a nice scratch in the screen protector but the screen was fine. It woulda jacked up my screen if i didnt hav eit.
Wow that screen is all sorts of f'ed up

I will google that

I've made one myselfx, it's very easy. Just measure the screen, cut a clear transparent plastic and apply with a few drops of water with dish soap, then use a credit card to remove the air bubbles. Very very easy, cheap and effective. I don't even notice there is a layer of protective film on my screen

What did you use? I've taken off the coating with my nail which just scratched off.
I have no way of getting to a machine so it would have to be by hand.
I did it by hand as well, using 100, 600 and 1000 sanding paper, followed by metal paste (car chrome polish) and cloth.
Thanks. Ill try that.

I have 2 strips of genuine Dell Streak Gorilla glass
Both are still in protective packaging and have protective shields still attached.
If you have broken your glass and not your LCD you will know that these are almost impossible to obtain via retail.
Can supply adhesive strips (to attach to LCD) if required.
Will post worldwide to a verified paypal address.
Thought i would post here as well as these a very rare, if i have posted on the wrong forum you have my permission to remove it.
Not as though you need my permission but there you go.
Weekend bump
Very rare £20.00 each , can't say any fairer than that.

Hello,
Do You still have G.Glass?
How much will it be (to Poland) ?
Greets!
The implication here is that it is possible to separate the old glass from the touchscreen without damaging the touchscreen. Can you provide those instructions or a link to them?

HOW HARD IS GORILLA 3 RESISTED TO THE STRETCH
With fingers i think not, but when you have it in pocket with something like key´s then you can scratch it.
And i would reccomend you a case because the rim is from plastic after a while it damages and it looks ugly ..
Fingers? Or nails? If its the former, then no. If its the latter then, probably. I have seen people hitting LCD panels with their awfully huge pointy nails, I don't know, but hurts me just to even see it.
I always will recommend a screen protector, glass if possible.
You can't scratch it with anything if you have a tempered glass screen protector on it...

Sorry I could not resist.
It's glass. You can't stretch it.
Sent from my SM-N900P using Tapatalk
I'm faily sure you mean scratch, not stretch.
Unless of course you're actually trying to lengthen the screen by pulling on it like a rubber band. In which case I don't think flexible screens are that effective just quite yet. You'll have to wait a few years.
Gorilla Glass 3 is fairly hard to scratch. Sand, keys and knives will, over time, damage the screen, but a protector isn't vital.
