Hi.
I have pin protected lockscreen. After reset i cant unlock my phone, pin is wrong (why??).
Anyone has idea how i can reset/recovery pin or phonebook, call history, and other data??
did you install cht?
afaik, theres no change to save your data...
i dont hope it for you, but we'll see what the others post =)

I have Artemis HD2 v15 or v17 rom. CHT was cooked in.. But i use windows lockscreen with pin.
sorry mate, nothing will work.. Only if u used myphone to backup your contacts or pimbackup..
I had this last week :S stupid stupid stupid
lucky I ALWAYS backup my contacts. very strange right, you type in the code (correctly) and it always says incorrect. ARGHH! flash a new rom, get into HSPL. Hopefully you made a backup..
Contacts saved on your SIM will still be there, phonecontacts are gone, no way around. I'll never use windows again, never will have this with android.
This is my brothers phone. He dont backup anything ;]
i'm pretty sure this is caused by cht...
it warns you (if you install it and its not cooked in), that its not compatible with a pin.
i guess its the first soft reset after rom flashing? or anything else...

Im using xperia with energy rom. I use win lockscreen with pin and it works well.
My brother use win lockscreen and pin too.
But few day ago, after reset pin is incorrect.
We dont use cht loockscreen.

Please help,
I have an unlocked T-Mobile WING and the tap screen suddenly does not respond. After going thru the forums one option that I have is to hard reset.
Does the phone still stay unlocked after the hard reset? I went thru a lot to get it unlocked!
I also need to know what do I need to backup before the hard reset? Contacts, calender, tasks, theme, other files? Is the only way to do a backup on WING is thru Activesync on a PC?
I used to own a Blue Angel where I could back up everything on the storage card and thus restore using xBackup. Is there no similar feature with the WING?
first of all ... define "unlocked"
SIM unlock or CID unlock?
If the touch screen doesn't work, Is he OS operable? do the hardware keys work? Are you able to navigate thru the phone using the wheel and hardware keys?
Connect it to a PC and setup activesync to backup any files you need... you can explore the phone with your PC and save any files you need ... as well as backing up your contacts with activesync.
You can try doing a hard reset or running the Stock RUU
which will restore the factory ROM ... or you can try installing any other 3rd party Rom depending on what you have done to your phone regarding what you call "unlocking."
Thanks dupred, the phone is 'SIM unlocked' I use it in Africa on my local network..
Everything else works fine, all the hard keys and alternative navigation works apart from the tap screen which suddenly just stopped without any impact on the phone!
Sorry, just noticed that its duprade!
Try a hard reset ... hopefully that will fix it.
Regarding whether or not the phone will remain unlocked... I don't know, I've never SIM unlocked my phone, so I couldn't tell you... maybe someone else has the answer to this question.
sim unlock should ALWAYS stay in place no matter what phone you have. thats the nature of a sim unlock.
Hi guys,
I have a problem with my Samsung Galaxy 3, the phone often asks again for my simcard number even though I allready booted it. When I enter the number, it doesn't boot again, but it just goes right away to the main menu like it was before.
Could this be a software problem or do you think the problem is just caused by my simcard itself?
Thanks
Happens to me as well (no problem with the SIM card, I've switched for a new one and it keeps happening). I ended up deactivating the SIM lock and just let it boot without SIM code...
Please elaborate !
what only4omkar said. Also when does it exactly happen? While you are using the phone or only after unlocking the screen?
You have Eclair on your phone, right? Been there too. With Froyo the problem is solved, but without the update the easiest thing is to turn off the PIN code request, as mentioned.
It happens only when the screen lock is on. I do have Eclair. If I install a ROM, you think the problem will go away then?

For me the problem completely disappeared since I flashed Froyo (I tried JPF and JPM). I turned the PIN code request back on, so if the problem didn't disappear, I would notice.
But if you afraid to flash, the other workaround works well, and if ypu want security, you can use the pattern lock.
Happened to me with Eclair 2.1, now with JPM seems ok.
I'll first try turning off the pin code and turning on the pattern lock, if I have some more time to learn about flashing I'll maybe give it a go later
Thanks guys!
Had this problem too on eclair, disable pincode was my workaround too...
Now on Jpm which fixed this problem.

What ROM are u on ?
Did u try flashing some other ROM ?
Make sure u take off u're sim card an memory card while u flash a new ROM ...
An btw ... try a hard reset first .. If in case tht solves u're problem , no need to flash a new ROM ..
Hello,
i use an htc hd2 with "HD2_NDT_MIUI_GINGER_2.3.7_DEVELOPMENT_V46.0_MAGLDR" and i love it, now i changed my contract Vodafone DE to Telekom DE ... my new contract dont work on the hd2, i gues there is an Simlock on the HD2 ?! Is it possible to get the card running ?
The Support means i need a Telekom Handy for it - but REALY !?
My Vodafone Card runs perfect -.-
I read in some other Threat that die Simlock get unlocked with changing to Android ... but not my !?
Please help me if you get what i mean
No kind of flashing will ever unlock the simlock.
Only two ways to unlock sim on hd2,, get a code from the original network operator, or buy a code online.
you must enter the code using winmo 6.5, otherwise the code wont work.
Okay, but is it sure that it is an Simlock ?
How can i test it ?
I read some other threats that i need to insert an other code after the PIN when its Simlocked ?!
I dont need to do this atm with the Vodafone D2 DE Card.
Or is my case the typical Simlock problem ?
okay, as much i read as much questions i got - CID-Lock >_<
Is it possible that it is CID-Locked ?
OMFG this get a long night -.-
simlock, Cid (carrier ID) lock, network lock,, allmost the same thing,,, if a phone is cid locked, it can only flash roms from that carrier (easily bypassed by hspl) but it also means its locked to that carriers network, (not bypassed by hspl)and only way to unlock that is get a code from the original carrier or buy a code.
Once it is unlocked, it will still (and always will) be Cid locked to voda roms.(again not a problem, since hspl bypasses it)
Assuming its from voda, you should ask them first,,, however if you no longer have a contract with them they probably will say no,, also they can take a while to give you the code. 28 days for many operators,,, took o2 UK six months to unlock mine in 2010!!
Save yourself.hours of fruitless searching and spend the 15€ and buy a code online. Lots of threads here about various sites selling codes.
AHHH okay - thx.
I found an link how to open it with out any costs ... but do you think its secure ?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=359413 ? (sorry its on german)
To use the code - i need to go back to WM6.5 so i will beginn with this ^_^
That thread is about flashing a different phone, and I promise you there's no flashing that will unlock the hd2.
Just cos one phone can be unlocked by flashing means nothing. I once had a phone that was unlocked by putting the sim only half way in and typing a certain code,, doesn't work on any other phone.
i dont want to buy a new plastic phone i love the hd2 ...
I found the site: http://www.htc-unlocker.org
If i buy me a code there - where i need to enter it ?! I dont find any answeres on there Page ... :-/
Dont want to waste money ...
-.- i dont know how to thank you - its really cool that you help a noob like me!
To enter the code you must flash back to winmo, and when you boot with the sim in it will ask for the code.
Ah okay, that seams really easy !? :-S
So i will spent the money on http://www.htc-unlocker.org/ :-/ but first i wait for the question ^_^
Args - such a stress ... i sent the phone two times back to the carrier cause i thought something is broken >_<
Ok now it get scarry!
I installed the Original WM6.5 rom of my Carrier and i can use my new Card from the other carrier without any problems -.- HELLO that makes no sense!!!
When i install Android i cant use it -.- and no there was no question
Edit:
Now the Connection droped and i cant log in again... but still no question for any code ...
So it dont ask for the Code - did it mean it is not Simlocked ?
The CID-Lock and Branding get disabled with HSPL and Android is it truth ?
So where is my Problem
It work with the original Carrier Card ... no problems ...
The New card dont work and the Device dont ask for the code ... with installed Android it still dont work
OMFG i hate problems i cant solve ...

no, they dont, they get bypassed, , they are still there, but hspl allows you to flash by bypassing teh check. hspl doesn't however, affect the network lock.

hmm, and the new card works on other phones? does teh hd2 give yo a 'no sim inserted' error? does it show any signs that it knows theres a sim card in there?
Yeh, okay iti s still there, but when it is bypassed does it still harm other cards ?
Yes, it is a brand new card, i thought the old was broken ^^ and toked a new - it works on my nokia 6510i *oldy but goldi*
And yes it accepts the card, sometimes i get network - can call, send sms and so, but then i get droped and nothing works ... :-/ mostly when i reboot it - it work for some minutes and then it drops.... and need 20 min to reconnect ...

...........................
it has no effect, the CID only prevents roms being flashed, once hspl is installed it does nothing, just sits there. CID and network lock go hand in hand, but they are seperate things. On my o2 locked hd2, i could flash roms using hspl, no probs, but it was still locked to the o2 network. Any other sim just gave teh unlock screen at boot. When i got my unlock code, i can now use any sim, but the CID is still there, without hspl i can only flash o2 roms.

ahhhhh well its not network locked then, we were barking up the wrong tree.
So the first thing id advise doing is, since your original sim works, trying a third sim, a different network to the other two if possible.
That will tell you if its the phone, that particular sim, or the network itself.
next step if it looks like a phone fault is go back to winmo. Get a stock rom on there (remember 3.14 roms MUST have 3.03.hspl or 3.03.0000 or they will run REALLY badly,,,,,((you aren't running a 3.14 rom on 2.08.hspl by any chance?)) and try all three sims again,
Other things it could be, , setting '3g only' turned on? in which case it wont connect if your signal is only strong enough for 2g, , , broken sim contacts ( not very common, but has been posted here before), , , age of the phone? they go bad, there are myriad threads where a phone is chugging along nicely then fails for no reason.
Okay, so we can say, CID-Lock // Network-Lock isnt the Problem.
I try an O2 / Eplus card - if i found one, need to ask around ...
My Phone is back to Winmob 6.5 (Vodafone Branding) and spl 3.03.0000
The combination of the Winmo vers, and the spl fits.
I use "ROM Version 3.14.162.5 Maintenance Release" with spl 3.03.0000 flashed through EasyAndroid toolkit(spl flash).
-.- broken contacs - my phone is empty atm ^_^
I tooked my Break for visiting the Vodafone Store ...
The Salesman told me, the device normaly got not Locks - just a Image Branding...
So he said it must be broken, something is not working correct ...
No he offers me to sent it back for fixing ... but again 2 weeks waiting -.-
ahh well, could be worse, most people no longer have any warranty, so you're lucky, lol.

You got me curious. I too have simlocked HD2 that i wish to unlock soon. Now I have android on it, and when i put my card in it, it shows the same prompt as in WinMo 6.5 (Enter the unlocking code), so i was sure everything is same as on WinMo. I was ready to purchase such code, until i stumbled upon your post. You say that even if i buy one, it won't work now? Thats a bugger...
it will work, but you will have to flash back to winmo to enter it. android will let you enter it, but it wont stick (its not an android phone, android doesnt have such low level access to the system)
Its easy, tho, ,
cwm full backup
flash stock rom
enter the code
reflash magldr/cwm
restore backup.
Take ya half an hour if you know what you're doing, an hour if you dont.
Okay, thank You very much. I won't cry, lately i had to reflash and restore everything after i played with ROM manager app, which killed my CWM So that's something i already mastered.
It's just that You saved me fruitless hours of trying to unlock while on android.
Cheers
Hello.
I'm really lost with my phone at the moment. I've tried to upgrade to several custom ROMs, but somehow there's always a thing that isn't working. I've followed the guides on this forum, but it looks like I got lost somewhere in the process and I did something wrong, since there are hundreds of topics and loads of information everywhere.
So, I'd really appreciate it if someone can tell me EXACTLY what to do to get my phone to a stable custom ROM (pref CM, but Aurora looks nice as well) from my current phone's condition.
Here are two screenshots from my phone's Settings-About phone menu.
h ttp://imgur.com/s6btpq6
h ttp://imgur.com/PJQBWRW
The current situation is, that my wifi is not working at all when I enter my simcard, then there's random reboots, it kind of works stable only if I have it plugged in pc(charging), etc.
My current ClockworkMod Recovery version is v6.0.3.3
If possible please add links to stuff that I should work on, Step by step!
Edit: Forgot to mention that I also get the "SIM network unlock PIN" message after I enter SIM PIN. sigh*
Thank you.

Looks like you are currenty using TMC by forumber2. I instelled and removed it because I found Aurora SP (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2295318), which is stable and has a goood battery backup. You can try that.
As long as SIM lock is concerned you can use DFS (http://cdmatool.com/) to unlock the SIM.
I guess you are using the carrier locked phone.
Good luck.

Okay, thanks for the first reply. I'll try to install this ROM, but does that mean that I have to install some official Android version first? It doesn't say anything in that topic, but for some ROMs it's mentioned, and usualy the added links are broken, etc.
And about the SIM lock, I don't know if it was a misunderstanding, or I'm missing something from that website. My SIM isn't locked, but it looks like that my Network adapter is, or however should i call this, I don't have the phone with me atm to exactly describe it, but still. I get the message that i should enter a PIN for my network something, not for SIM unlock.
Is this resolved with installing a new ROM, or do I still need to do something else about it?
Please clarify

I don't think so. I installed it over Lewa ROM. It installs its own kernel, so there is no such dependency.
Just take the backup using recovery to be on safe side.

Did you purchase the phone from specific service provider?
Does it ask for pin when you try to insert another SIM card?
Did you manually set some PIN/PUK code?

Yes I did purchase my phone from a service provider. I didn't have a chance to try another SIM card, but, I've installed a 2.3.5 android version now, and the system is stable, at least I'm fine with that, but the WIFI and bluetooth aren't working. For wireless it says Error when I try to enable it, and bluetooth simply isn't enabling, without giving me any errors.
And no I did not change any PIN/PUK code settings.
At least the phone is working now, but I really have to get the WIFI working, any ideas?

I guess this localhost thing has something to do with it? But I've no idea about those things, on phones at least.
your emei is correct?
if you have used custom partitions you could have lost your emei.
go to defenitions and see if your emei is correct.
and have you tried to install an official rom again and see if everything is working?

I've checked the IMEI, it's the same as on the back of my phone. It also says "Wi-Fi MAC address / Bluetooth address - Unavailable".
I'll try to install fresh rom later today again. Should I install the same version as I did the last time (2.3.5), or some other one?

What do you mean open them? I can't enable either of them, as I described in one of my previous posts, I get error trying to enable WiFi, and as for bluetooth, nothing happens.
okay, so i was trying a new rom and i backup my old rom in my USB-OTG.
so after restoring my backup i successfully booted up my device and when i was on lock screen. i try to use my fingerprint and it asked me to insert my PIN so i insert my PIN, but it keep saying WRONG PIN. and i am sure that my PIN is correct !
i tried to get the option to recover my pin using my google account but that option is not coming up ! i tried 100 times !
is there any other way i can reset my pin ?
UPDATE: So just after posting this thread i found this solution http://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-6p/general/psa-twrp-backups-lockscreen-security-t3245070
and it worked ! and problem solved !
Just remember to disable all lockscreen security before you make your backup next time.
