So what I did was I got switch pro and turned every thing all the way low or forced edge only use 3g when I need it. Also I have task manager kill tasks every 5 min.
Here's a screen shot phone was on 13 hours I used it a little I was at work 10.5 of those hours but I text at work and check xda on breaks.

I swear this thing learns faster than I do. Is it real or am I imagining???
Every time I install a new app or turn on some feature the first day meaning about 18 hours of use the battery drops to below 50% sometimes to the 30%+ but it never repeats. Next day with the same app or feature its 50-60% and then afterwards it settles around 70%.
What is happening?

I was thinking something similar my battery life seems to be getting better.

So I have a Nexus 7 and an S3, the former becoming recently rather redundant as I got the new iPad (was tired of lack of optimised tablet apps). I still, however, love the form factor when reading and this I do relatively frequently, maybe 3-4 times a week.
The form factor is also useful when I just want to pop out for a bit and feel like taking it with me, whereas the static iPad I tend to keep either at home or take to university with me.
The only issue is due to me using the nexus less, i am less aware of how much charge it holds. And the standby battery is terrible compared to the iPad, which I can honestly say would last about a month if I wasn't using it.
Is there anything I can do to my tablet to maybe tone down the CPU when not in use or maybe disable internet connection when not in use, as I'm sure these two things may be affecting the battery when it shouldn't.
I don't need my tablet to constantly be up to date the second I turn it on I wouldn't mind if it took a minute or so to show me new updates / emails e.t.c.
Thanks!
Keep WiFi and sync off. I don't keep WiFi or sync on (my g'nex keeps me up to date) and my standby battery is good. Never left it sitting for a full day but over 12 hours I only lose 2-3%.

used power toggles to turn sync off, but out of curiosity where is the normal menu option for it?
cheers for that, 5% a day is absolutely fine!
They made this one hard to find. Settings > Data usage > Menu options (3 vertical dots in upper right) > Auto-sync data (put check mark). It's really a pain. I use Notification Toggle to have an option to toggle it from my notifications pull-down shade.
just turn it off if your not using it or set your tablet to sleep mode
If your device is rooted use set CPU and use profiles so you can make you processor only do like 50mhz when the device is on sleep

My phone wouldn't wake back up when I did that... Lowest I got it at was around 300 MHz

I wouldn't be using any of these battery saving apps as most cause more battery drainage than they save.
BetterBatteryStats is the only app you need, free on XDA but support the developer by buying it on Google Play it really is a great app for the small price, and will identify the main battery hogs without using hardly any itself

So I'm trying to find out if I'm the only one getting terrible life out of my battery. I used to get 16 hours + and still have 10% left. Now, it drops about 15% an hour. I use less than 25% brightness.

Your going to need to be a bit more specific.
I averaged 4.5-5 hours screen time when I first got my phone running MDL firmware. That is running everything as is right out the box with fairly heavy data usage.
That screen shot doesn't tell you squat.
I'm new to Android and I'm starting to hate my s4. I only get 2-3hrs screen time with this phone. Battery life is very terrible. I hate the fact that you to greenify stuffs just to maximize battery life. I'm using deadly venom 8.2 on mf3. Lux dash as auto brightness (I hate the fact that you have to lower the brightness settings to get better battery life?)
I'm usually on wifi, on my better battery stats, I go 3-4.5% per hour when I'm not using it which can last the whole day but once I use it, it just eats up the batter from 15%-25%max per hour usage. Very disappointing.

Not to be rude but go back to the iPhone if you don't like android simple as that people on craigslist will trade an iPhone 5/5c for your gs4. You've already made several threads and comments about this right now. I get great battery life plus iOS 7 is way too colorful.

Yeah obviously... Sorry, this xda app could really use some updating... I tried uploading 3 pictures... That was the last one... I'll try to take another screenshot after another normal days use.

Seems normal. Only dropped 5% in 1 hour 15 minutes in your screenshot instead of 15% you said in your first post. You could try turning off those google services you dont use.
My phone battery life suck! I used to be able to get 5 hours of screen on time but not anymore. I can barely push out a day use without having to charge it. Check the pictures I'll have attached. I might have to return this to T-Mobile if I have my phone insured.

I have the same issue.

Meaningless... You'll need to look for wakelocks, look for CPU hogs, look for bandwidth hogs, etc.
GSam Battery Monitor and Better Battery Stats are a good start to get useful information.

Agree with 3rd post also try battery calabration and greenify!
Try NOT using the 4g the whole time.
Hmmm I'll go through one whole day with GSam battery stats and post the statistics of my use.

Hello!
I have an AT&T Note 3 running on root and I've noticed that my Lightflow & Swapps app keeps automatically force closing at random times in the day.... this never happened before until I decided to root my phone, and even then, in the beginning everything was running smoothly. Any idea of what could be causing this? I am using the NOVA launcher but I wouldn't see why that would cause an issue... and on Kitkat 4.4, I'd appreciate anyone's input!
Get rid of lightflow! It just sucks up your battery!

Do you recommend an alternative app that does the same? It's never given me any battery issues.

Me personally, I recommend none because they all drain battery. How much usage do you get out of your battery before you have to charge it? I get around 1d 8hrs with moderate usage.

From what I do, it actually does last me a while but I do have to charge it when I am at work. From 9 to about 3:30p.m I have to charge it because it's at 10% due to me watching Netflixs all through my work shift, including lunch, while also texting back and forth whenever I need to. My shift ends at 5:30, so by then it's at 100% because I started charging it around 3:30p.m. On a day like the weekend, I hardly use my phone at all since I have my PC so my batter life lasts a really long time without me having to charge it by the end of the day and even then I have about 60%. On a day where I am up and about, my batter lasts me till about 40% all day until I have to charge it. I hope that makes any sense. I don't pay much attention to my battery life since all I use my phone for is netflixs while I am at work and SOMETIMES some gaming, but not all the time. I also hardly call or text anyone.
