Port 2.1 (ecliar) 3d gallary to a 1.6 rom. Possible?

I just flashed cyanogen's cm5.0.7 test 5 on Friday, I love all the app and new feature but it is beyond slow on my g1 after only 1 day. I was going to go back to the lastest super D rom tonight but I was wondering if its possible to keep the eclair gallery.

I'm not sure what you are doing wrong, but I have had CM 5.0.7 test5 and have not had any problems with speed!

it will be awesome because 3D Gallery does not works on Android 1.6, i have a SE Xperia X10 and i would like to use 3D Gallery.

ROM Specific Kernels and... Stuff

I'm downloading the Gingerbread Sense 3.0/3D ROM to test around with. It has Kernel 2.6.35.10 from the Gingerbread leak for MT4G, which if I'm not mistaken is a Gingerbread ONLY kernel. So, when I decided to flash back to Royal Glacier, will I need to flash the Faux123-Sense-v1.0.0-CFS-SVFaux123-Sense-v1.0.0-CFS-SV kernal BEFORE going back?
Does my question make any sense?

If you flash royalglacier, it already comes with a specific kernel (by faux I believe).
Go back to the royalglacier thread and it specifies what kernal that rom is already using.
Look:

Release Version: v1.3
Base Firmware: 2.2.1
Kernel Version: Faux123-Sense-v1.0.0-CFS-SV Thank You Faux123
Recovery Required: Latest CWR 3.0.0.6 or newer

No, you are good. Backing it up will back up the kernel as well. It's a package deal.

[Q] MT4G Wifi Calling Compatibility w/ROMs and Kernels

I have had the MyTouch 4G (Glacier) since it first came out and
rooted it and have flashed many awesome custom ROMs. I was wondering if any one else has noticed compatibility issues with certain Custom Kernels and Wifi Calling functionality? Here's what I have found:
Wifi Calling Works Fully (Including sending/receiving MMS)
-Stock Froyo ROM w/ stock Kernel
-Leaked Gingerbread ROM w/ stock Kernel
Wifi Calling Works Partially (Calling Only, no MMS functionality No "G" appears)
-Royal Glacier 1.2, 1.3 using Faux's FROYO Sense Kernel
-Stock Froyo with Faux's Froyo Sense Kernel
-Leaked Gingerbread ROM with Faux's GB Sense Kernel
-Royal Panache w/ Faux's GB Sense Kernel
Wifi Calling Doesn't Work at all
-Royal Glacier 1.3 using m-deejay's Unity Kernel

I've also noticed that mute functionality on wifi calling is broken on all the gingerbread roms I've tried (cm7, royalginger, and nexus aosp).

For some reason mms does not work using fauxs kernels using wifi calling if you have zero actual cell coverage.
I.e. use cm stock, works. Install fauxs kernel, doesn't.
Use faux aosp doesn't work. Install another kernel, works.
Basically I have narrowed it down to faux kernels not sending mms using wifi calling if you have no cell reception.
Annoying, as I love fauxs kernels, but I rely totally on wifi calling for service

Rooting an Epic 4g for a friend......

I'm going to be rooting an epic for one of my coworkers and I was wondering what roms and kernels work best for the epic? Batterylife is a high priority. Any input is greatly appreciated!

I have had the best battery life running
SRF 1.2
twilight kernel 1.1
Modem EF02

SRF 1.2, twilight kernel, EE03 has increased my battery life about 25% over stock.

I'd say Syndicate Rom Frozen(SRF) 1.2 for the rom
And either Twilight or Genocide for kernel. Just remember, whichever kernel you pick, flash it immediately after flashing SRF 1.2, if you choose that rom.

[Q] FFC won't work with Yahoo Messenger on Virtuous 1.27.0

I have downloaded and installed Virtuous 1.27.0 ROM. The ROM is smooth, but FFC won't work with Yahoo Messenger and also it is up side down when using Tango. Can anyone please help how to fix it?

First, ask questions about a ROM in that ROM's existing thread. That's why there are ROM threads.
Next, I would upgrade to latest version of Virtuous Unity, which is 1.29.0. I don't see anything in the changelog about the FFC and chat apps, but you never know.
