[Q] I need some help with Co0kie Home Tab v1.8.5 - Touch HD General

I need some help with Co0kie Home Tab v1.8.5
My screen is quite loaded with stuff and when I swipe to open the 5x5 quick links panel I often launch/open something else
I noticed that on the top right side of the screen (just below the Task Manager) there is a small square dot which is opening the quick links panel BUT ONLY for editing purposes.
Since that square dot is fairly easy to tap (even with big fingers like mine ) I wonder if there is a way that I can use it to open the quick links panel (not in the edit mode but) in the launcher mode (so to actually launch applications from it).
Then whenever I want to edit/rearrange the quick links I can just tap on Menu --> Edit Quick Links and there I am in the edit mode anyway!
Obviously I am also open to any other suggestion... Anybody?

working with gyrator

Two questions about gyrator:
1. Can you configure it to disable completely while the keyboard is open? If so, how?
2. How do you add applications (the list is fixed and the .ini file does not include paths)? I have several games (Experiment 13 for example) that get hosed up if you repeatedly rotate the screen.
hi, if you want to disable any app, just go to the event panel add a new one and then:
>Name it the way you want
>Select the app (Learn Class/Title, pull the stylus out, lauch your app and put the stylus back)
>Select the orientation you want it to be fixed in
>Don't check any stylus options
>Check Rotate screen on the actions panel
>Don't bother with the last panel
Apply and then check "Orientation" for the event (it'll be marked as 1 on the right)
Apply, you're done.
I never tried to disable the keyboard rotation.
Thank you SSh_Shama.
I wasn't concerned about the keyboard, but I wanted to disable other programs (mainly the dialer) from rotating. Gyrator is an excellent application, but I just couldn't understand how to get the events to work. Your explaination made more sense to me. Thanks again.

volume control via hardware left side control

hi, I've just purchased a HD2 and I'm new to WM.
After installing some tweaks, I discovered that when i tune the volume using the button on the side of the phone, instead of showing the original volume level in a black screen, now it shows a small window on the top right corner.
How can I get back the original black volume control screen ?
i'm on Manila ver 2.5.19211619 and ROM 1.66 with 6.5.2 OS.
thanks
SN
Have u installed any taskbar modification?
i installed the following :
- cookie's home tab
- flashlight
- CHTEditor
-.Net CF3.5
-bluetooth toggle
- close album with X
- disable accidental link
- lonngpress send key
- faster manila tweaks
- opera 6 tabs
-reset and wifi
- speed up screen scrolling
-start menu icons and BG transparent
will any of the above cos the change ?
Thanks
Its definetely not cookies home tab, flashlight and probably not Net cf3,5, your best bet is to uninstall app one by one and soft reset after each to find out which one could be the culprit.
Thanks.
it's the last one that removed the original volume control.
i now have a new 'problem' - i could not remove the icon completely. Tried removing and the msg is that there are icons that are not removed completely and asked whether i want to tremove them, i confirmed 'Yes' but that prog will still appear in the list of installed prog. Tried a few times and it is the same.
Now the silent/ringer mode icon is mission from the task bar.
Looks like I will for other icons or reinstall the task bar icons and make do with the 'not so nice' volume control.
Thanks again
Sktools is great in uninstalling things, u can try it.

Editing/Removing Bottom Bar

Hi (I'm new here!)
I'm trying to set up my Touch 2 so that it looks and feels exactly how I want it, and I'm nearly there. The only issue I have is the bottom bar. On the home screen it current has "Phone" and "Contacts" as its default, and I'd love to either change it or (preferably) remove the bottom bar completely. I trawled through the user guide from htc.com and I've tried using the Search here to no avail so I just thought I'd ask. Any clues?
Thanks in anticipation....
(by the way, how do I take a screenshot of my phone to post on here?)
Hello,
I think you mean the softkeys...well, as far as i know there is no option to remove them but you can change them with this tool:
h__p://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=418151
advanced config > menu > key mapping
Laberkopf
To make a screen shot you can use this program...but there are many more.......when you search

Anyone know how to Change Order / Remove Tabs after Co0kie is installed?

I've lost the shortcut where I can move order or remove Tabs on the Sense GUI after installing Co0kie. Anyone know how I can do this?
On the home screen, please Menu, Edit quick links... then tap to add/remove quick links, or hold and drag to rearrange quick links...
Is that what your looking for?
I don't think it is mate.
Go to the settings tab and select Personalise, and then Home Screen Tabs.
Thanks John!
Exactly what I need help with though the answers above don't work for me
HD2 with Cookie installed (I inherited it that way)
My menu doesn't have a Personalise Home Tabs and my Settings Tab doesn't have a Personalise option
I my attempts to find where to remove some of the tabs I've changed something so that on the home page instead of seeing the tabs I get cookies home tab
I would like to remove the cookies home tab and be able to edit/remove the standard home tabs
Any ideas ?

4 colums Start menu and programs tab for Sense 2.5?

Recently flashed Verizon's stock MR2 ROM with WinMo 6.5 and HTC Sense 2.5 (Manila 2.5.20132227.0). Its growing on me. Definately snappy compared to 2.1, but after a couple days I'm still looking for answers to the following:
-Slide to Unlock: ...every time the screen turns off it locks... is that necessary? Any settings or .cabs that'll give me a little more control of when it locks?
-Start Menu: Where can I get a 4-colum programs .cab for the displayed Start Menu programs... OR have the start menu display the standart WinMo 6.5 start menu. The .cabs I had for 2.1 don't seem to work.
-Programs tab: Where can I find a .cab to add a "Programs" tab back into the slider icons? The one I had for 2.1 (again) doesn't work. Also changing the registry entry in HKCU\Software\HTC\Manila doesn't work, either ("programs tab is hidden" from 1 to 0).
Any help would be appreciated.
yes you can change your lock screen settings...
It'll be somewhere in your settings... I cant tell you where as I myself never use it. I went into mine and saw in settings\system there was something called lock config so I'm sure your set up would have something like that.
the start menu... well in 6.5 they have the honeycomb menu. I think I read back a long while ago about a way to make it go old school I just havnt seen in it a long while... same with the programs tab. They took that out of 2.5
my advice... go to this thread and read about the add on and then add it. It adds SO much funtionality to sense it just makes the standard one look stupid
[Manila Mod][19-Jun-2010] Co0kie's Home Tab v1.8.5
then you'll need this to do the changes
[APP] CHTEditor v1.8.5.1 [UPDATE 19-JUN-2010]
note the screen shots in the links. You can have any number of layouts and "pages" that swipe up and down for different short cuts right on your home screen. Different clocks, notification bars etc etc.
Options for Start Menu Replacement WM 6.5
-Lock Screen: You should be able to locate lock config under Settings or Settings--->System (However, if you decide to use the aforementioned Cookie Home Tab Mod, the lock config is modified using Cookie Home Tab Editor under the Lock Screen menu.
-Start Menu: Try (utak3r's modified Quickmenu and Joe Wilcox's Awesome Start (not free but you may like to try these start menu replacements: Hilauncher and Panoramic Launchpad)
-Programs Tab: Check out this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=619253 and you will see that Cookies Home Tab is probably the way to go...
