Picture Frame Widget? - Vibrant General

Can anyone recommend a good one for our phones?

Android has one built in. You want something fancy? Have you tried searching the market?
Not sent from my Vibrant using XDA App 'cause I returned it.

Yeah, I've done a search, but cant find one with good res.

Go to http://www.appbrain.com/ It syncs with your google market and is a great source for apps. I found lots of choices you might like both paid and free. Just search "picture frame". The site is completely legit and there's an appbrain app for your phone too so you can sync all your stuff. Highly recommended.

download the PB31IMG file, put it on the root of your sd card, go into the bootloader, it will update the phone and bring you back to a Stock 2.2. From there root it and do as your please.

It's widely known as "link din" - people willing to hand their address books to third parties causing spam to lots of mailing lists and forums.
I have no problems with it as a professional version of Facebook, but it's unfortunately as spammy as Facebook sending bogus invites to the world. I can only assume that installing their app will cause your entire Google address book to be spammed with invites.

I have not seen this at all... And I have been on linkedin for years. It has prompted many recruiters to call me and offer me positions. I like that then I dont have to go looking for work...
As to Spam, yes there are a lot of people on it that send you invites... but it is no different then any other social network. you could probably pull a lot of emails from XDA if you really wanted to.......
Anyway, I like linkedin even though I am not really looking for a job right now. each person has there own experience and if you dont like it then uninstall it or remove your account. also you could use a spare email account on it and all spam would go there. I think most people have a few email account. I used a junk email when I started with it.... Since I have not gotten too much from it I updated it with my personal good email that I always check.
Have a great weekend.

Androidify

Saw this on pocketnow youtube channel and thought you guys might like. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SaJ4C-5ZXBE&feature=youtube_gdata_player Its available on the market for free.
Edit: now that think about it this should be in the themes and apps section. If a mod can please move it. Thank you.
I would like to have a program that links facebook but let me choose which account instead of it doing it for me. There are some accounts I would like to do manually.
However, this program would probably be fun for like 20 minutes.

I think Androidify is to make customized android avatars. What you do with it from there (use a contact photo or whatever) is separate from the program itself.
I thought it was completely stupid, and then I realized my kids will love it, so I downloaded it.
I use it and absolutely live it! Of course, this of coming from the guy who was obsessed with making miis on the wii like 3 years ago

There is a little icon of a shopping bag with the little android Guy on it that says market. That is where u get apps. Also what rom did you go with?

The Market app, in your phone under all apps, there is an app called market. Thats where you get your apps from.
If there is an app you are looking for that isnt on the Market, chances are there is a good reason it was taken off. It could have been a malicious app, might have been causing problems on people's phones, or maybe the developer just wanted to take it down to work on it more.
Maybe he didn't install Google apps yet. OH and if you want something different then the market apps, google Mikandi.apk lol

Amazon free app of the day list

Lets post all the free amazon apps of the day starting with back breaker football. Does anyone have the apk for this
Sent from my SPH-D700 using Tapatalk
Amazon requires you have their market downloaded and running in the background for Amazon apps to work. We can't post the APKs, as they wont work.
Today's app is PicSay Pro. I have to say I've been very surprised by the quality apps Amazon has been giving away on app of the day. If the idea is to get users to look at their market every day, it's definitely working on me.

1. Since it's no longer free, it's now warez, and that's bad in XDA.
2. It's really a crappy game, you just run up the field and dodge increasing amounts of defenders to score touchdowns. While this seems fun, the controls are far from it. You steer your player like a car using the accelerometers, and not with a dpad. You run by rubbing up and down on a line on the side of the screen. Doing both of these at the same time _does not work_.
I grabbed it, tried it, and deleted it. If there was a way to gift games, I would give it to you.

yeah, AND you have to enable one click purchasing on Amazon too. it's a way for them to get accidental sales.
Not to bad
The free apps haven't been to bad so far that I've seen.
Starting with Angry Birds Rio.
I've gotten Fruit Ninja, Flight Control and Talking Tom, and as someone mentions today's Picsay Pro which is fun.
Airport mania was free Yesterday also, that was a good pickup. I agree, we can't post them that'd be out of line. But you have to pay attention from now on.

I for one like the 1 click purchasing. The last thing i want to do on my phone is go through a whole checkout process for a 99 cent app.
They do the same for Kindle books... this is nothing new.
I like the Amazon app store. I like to take advantage of the free apps that they have each day. anyone know how much longer that will go on?

I don't think they really care about the occasional accidental $0.99 sale. They're doing it to get you used to and comfortable with the idea of going to Amazon to get apps, and they want to make sure that if/when you do reach that point and start to actually buy apps from them, that it is trivially easy for you. You're more likely to do all the work of entering and setting everything up when you're getting something for free. If you had to set everything up and go through all the checkout nonsense for a single $0.99 app, you'd probably just say screw it and buy through the regular google android market.
I think it's a decent idea. They give away free music using the same theory, but I think the free apps they've been giving away are much, much better than the free songs you can get from them.

Amazon has a *really* good calendar app for free today. It's normally around $5. It's called "Business Calendar". Has a great widget as well.

+1. I just got this today and it really handles my calendars better than anything else I've tried.
And I have to admit that the Amazon appstore is really growing on me. If I have multiple devices, will they all have access to the apps I've gotten through the appstore?

Amazon wants this appstore to be like the kindle. they want this appstore on as many devices as possible. it would make much sense if your apps were tied to only device.
I think their app store is great. I didn't understand the peple that post in other thread they would not use the amazon app store because they didn't want to fragment the android app market? The way I look at they give me a free app and if I. Buy a paid app I buy it from them as thanks for for the free apps to support them. I just think that's fair.

How about a Titanium Backup of the APK for us non Nexus owners? Pretty please?
Sure wish I was seeing it in the Market with my N1. (Especially since I have a Google Apps account that they haven't migrated yet, so I can't use the web-based Market to install)
EDIT: Never mind. A search for "Netflix" brought up about 60 apps, of which the true Netflix app was about 60% of the way down the list. You'd think an app with the search term in both the app name and the developer name might rise to the top!
