Oh nice, I want wake lock.
Related
I got a strange problem this morning. I enabled the password lock (and so need to input PIN to unlock). I also setup an alarm to wake me up.
This morning the alarm did trigger but doesn't sound. Anyway in order to turn off the alarm I need to first input PIN to unlock the device, and then click "Dismiss". I clearly remember my PIN but when I input it, it say incorrect password.. I repeatedly tried several times (~10)... I was told I've too many invalid attempt and can't to retry unless input some default text.. at that time I was a bit flustrated and preparing for a hard reset.......
But before so.. I tried a soft reset to see if there is any green light... o yes I can re-try to input the PIN, and I can unlock it with the same PIN~~ o that's good but a bit worry the same case will be happened...
Does anyone get the same happened?~ I am using a 1.48 ROM...
with me the same, twice.
soft reset did not work, only removong baterry.
the samr rom 1.48.
best.
this happens to me about half of the time; for the first time in 15 years i can't use my phone as an alarm clock, really annoying
o yes.. actually I was removed the battery for reset but not the red reset button....
now that I have to disable the PIN lock to have the alarm back ... hope it will get fixed in later ROM...

it seems like this relates to left over notifications in the notification queue, so it's only appearing for users with lots of notifications.
i installed pmClean from http://www.pocketmax.net/redial.html and as long as i "Clean Notifications" every other day things are working fine again.
gAlarm wakes up at midnight to let the phone reindex the notification queue if I understand things correctly, so that would be an option - but i've seen some comments in this forum that gAlarm uses some battery, which is a no-no for me.
Well, my streak on 2.1 was doing this for a while but not anymore after a reboot: When the screen time out kicked in, the screen would not turn off, instead it would dim the screen but I could still see the Beautiful Home Clock. You still need to hit the power button to unlock the phone. Anyone know how I can enable this feature again?

I have the exact issue. I am running 2.1 on att dell streak.
At first I thought i fixed it, i turned the style lock feature off. it started to turn dark for a couple hours then reverted back to doing the dim on lock.
i sometimes have issues d/c calls because its dim and un-responsive.
I have dont alot of searching on this matter and dont know what to think.
I also have this problem... reading over at modaco, there's a bunch of other people with the same problem. They're saying if you turn off wifi before locking the phone, it doesn't occur. Mine only seems to have the problem every once in awhile though, so I haven't been able to test it myself yet. You might want to try it and see what happens.
Ah ok, i went back and searched and found the post you were talking about.
i would post the link but new users cant link, its under 2.1 bugs in modaco streak forums.
Too bad that turning wifi off for me isnt really an option because usually it wont let me turn it back on
Hi!
I have problem with lockscreen and locked phone.
When phone is in standby and locked and I'm trying to unlock it, it hangs in lockscreen. I can move slider to unlock phone but nothing happens and it just stays locked.
This happens sometime few times in one day and sometimes is everything ok for a week. When this happens I have to take out battery and put it back in and it's very very annoying.
Is there something to fix this problem?
Thanks in advance.
Lock screen
I have same problem, but no solution yet
simple..just set a password at ur x2..and then,hola..it will not happen again..its also happen to me last time..almost everyday..
android lockscreen
Me simple installed android lockscreen, nice looking one, but no landscape(no problem for me), just search this forum if ya want
You can solved this problem by go to Start>Settings>Auto Lock> uncheck Enable Auto Lock. I have the same hang out like your. This way helpful for me. When you need to lock your phone just Start and tap on Clock icon.
Thanks
The issue is when i turn the screen off, lets say the time is 2:00PM and i check for notification at 2:20PM. What happens is as soon as the screen turns on the time jumps from 2:00 -> 2:20 PM , shouldn't this be done as a background process so that we shouldn't even see the time jump?
Anyone else facing this issue and any workarounds/fixes?
Thanks

Hi,
Does it always jump to the correct time?
I have seen this on different ROMS on other phones.

Pretty old. Used to happen on my S2 too.
i guess it is an intent that gets activated upon waking of the phone (by turning on the screen)... when you do that, it updates the screen and thats why.
but then again... that is only what i think.. if it should update it while the screen is turned off it would be an active process and use battery
Does it on mine too but only the clock on the main lock screen, the time on the top bar seems to be correct.

Yes it always jump to the correct & exact time....it seems like a battery saving feature...if it is, other people with S4 should also experience it,no?

For me i have a pattern Lock with time...so the moment i turn it on this is done on the lock screen clock...and yes the timer on the top bar seems to be correct(as in no jump).

Hi,
I ,too, have the pattern lock screen.
But I have the Lightning Launcher.
So, there is no lag or delay on mine.
Maybe ,try a different launcher and see.

oh...will do
New to XDA. Hello all!
I am experiencing this clock lag as well. :/
It doesn't matter if I use a custom lock screen or the Samsung lock screen with "swipe to unlock".
It's easily reproducible, let phone sit for 10-15 min and if you press the unlock button you'll see the wrong time for anywhere from a fraction of a second to a few seconds! and then it will update to correct time. Super annoying if I just want to know the time. Also, I've found that the amount the clock is behind is proportionate to the amount of time the phone as been idle....to a point...
I've seen the clock be over an hour off but it doesn't drift much more than than. Like a few folks mentioned, this should be running in the back ground. What is confusing to me is the clock in the top right is correct, so the phone is monitoring the clock...it's just not updating the lock screen clock.
Hopefully we can find a work around.
Not too keen on a new launcher...at least not until others who have seen that lag switch over and confirm it as a fix...but I don't think it will help, because the lock screen is still a Samsung process not controller by the launcher (i don't think)
Any thoughts?
The clock on the main unlock screen is essentially a widget. As a power saving feature, it only updates as necessary, which would be when you turn your phone on to look at the time. The time at the top of the screen in the notification bar is not a widget, it is a built in process that is always active. That is why it is current and the large clock, "the widget", is off until you turn your phone on to look at it.
My phone does the same thing. As does pretty much everyone's. It is not anything wrong with your phone, it is just the way it is set up. It is usually only delayed by a second or two, at best.
If it is an issue, you can always just remove the widget and use the time at the top of the screen to check. Or try a different app and set the update frequency.
It's not that big of a deal to me, I know it's always off until it refreshes, so I just give it a second to update.
here is the thing .. I want to keep the fingerprint lock for apps via applock app but the thing is it asks me to setup the fingerprint in phone settings. but doing so it setups a lockscreen for my whole phone I dont want to do that . is there any workaround for saving the fingerprint without keeping the lockscreen ..? ..
you folks might ask why would you do that? here is the story " One of my friends had a bike accident and he was spot dead. the thing is they couldn't find a person who knows my friend he kept his phone locked so no one could call .. it took 4 hours to track his parents."
So seeing this i don't want to lock my phone , you know just in case something like this happened to me.. but i dont want my friends to creep around my phone . the app lock does the job .. but now I'm missing the fingerprint feature in my Moto G4 plus. please help ..! sorry for the long post
