today i just noticed that my x10 screen is not straight its a little like this / when i open messages and apps even on home screen. i have adw launcher on my screen and i dont know if adw launcher is causing this and i dont know how to go back with x10 screen? can anybody help please
To go back to the stock home screen, go to Settings>Applications>Manage Applications,
find ADW Launcher, click "Clear Defaults", then when you press the home menu, it'll give you a menu of like TimeScape, ADW Launcher, and Home. Click Home.
Something weird just happened to me. Before I was on Gingerblur and when I press the home button, the screen would go back o default screen. If I started off from the default screen and then pressed the home button. then the Dub screens would appear. Now that option is gone. The only why I can bring up my sub screens is if I press the app drawer icon in motoblur. If I press the home screen, nothing happens. Is this a bug or can this be easily corrected in the settings. Please advise. Thanls
Once you install gingerblur you get the stock gingerbread launcher which does no support that function. Try installing ADW Launcher or Launcher Pro from the Market.

I reverted back to stock so now all I have done to the phone is aRoot. It worked in the beginning, but now it doesn't.
Hello guys i might be needing your help. I just downloaded Package disabler pro and disabled most of the unuseful apps specially Bixby related apps. After that I went to home screen and it says "Android is starting..." in the middle of the screen. I can still access notification panel and settings. I just cant make it to my home screen and app drawer, it feels like forever to load.
In-case this will not stop, what are the steps I should do to make it work again? Thank you in advance! :good:
Did you happen to disable the home launcher? If so then you can either send yourself an launcher.apk file by Bluetooth and install. Then access the package disabler and enable the main launcher.

Installed 5.6.2.0 on my HD8 with Nova Launcher + widget support, now the notification bar and bottom navigation bar are missing. It's a total loss, too... Nothing on the home screen, nothing in any apps. I've got to do a complete reboot to get out of any app I start. Makes the tablet nearly impossible to use.
I've looked through Nova's settings, but nothing jumps out as a possible fix.
A warning to anyone who wants to keep using Nova with the latest update, and a call for help from anyone who has updated and has run into this problem too.

Had an issue like this on my nexus 6 and a custom rom. The only way I found to make nova widgets and such work was to load an older nova 4.xx version. Maybe this will help you as well.
I'm having this problem too. I got home from work this morning to find it updating on me and now nav/notification bars are gone for me too. I don't use any of the widgets, I just have Pro version.
Woke up today to find the same issue. Here's how I solved it:
Step 1) Remove Launcher Hijacker or Clear Data
Step 2) Reboot Tablet
Step 3) Walk through Amazon's new introduction video and stuff
Step 4) Setup Launch Hijacker again

That did it. Thanks. Note to others, make sure you set the Accessibility home button setting to On again. I had to review the original setup post to get Nova to stick after reboots and Show Mode.
Actually, Nova Launcher works fine on the new update, you just need to re-enable root because it was lost during the update, and then re-disable the stock launcher which is now called "Paladin" so after getting root, going into a root user shell with adb shell -> su and then typing in pm disable com.amazon.paladin Nova took over again.

I wasn't working with root, just using the non-root method. Thanks for the tip, though. I've got a couple rooted 5th gen 7s, I wanted to let my 8 and 10 run with all of Amazon's bells and whistles (aside from their launcher on my 8, obviously).
I use Nova Launcher by using Hijack3 app. Works very well.
I cannot add widgets to homescreen. When attempting to put the widget on screen, I get the Fire HD 8 "Settings Menu".
Is there a way to add widgets?

DragonFire1024 posted a guide on how to do it.

When you get to step 6, use this ADB command for Nova launcher:
adb shell appwidget grantbind --package com.teslacoilsw.launcher --user 0

Is there a way to do it on the new Fire Tablet 8? The adb method doesn't seem to work.

Worked fine for me on 8th gen HD 8 (FireOS 6.3.0.1) using Launcher Hijack v4.02 with Nova - including partial widget support.

I'm using HD 10, OS 5.3.6.4, didn't install Launcher Hijack though, I followed https://forum.xda-developers.com/hd8-hd10/general/root-required-widgets-preferred-launcher-t3637813 and in the Accessibility section, turned on Nova, but there is no option for the home key there anymore.
So, when I hit the home key, it goes back to Fire launcher (which I suppose the Launcher hijack fixes?), but, then, the other problem is that when I try to add a system gadget, notification logs, it just flashes, and goes back to Fire launcher with no widget being created in Nova.

As noted - partial widget/gadget support. That limitation might be mitigated if the native launcher could be fully suppressed; tough ask on an unrooted ROM (aka FireOS).
