I have a big problem with Android on my Galaxy S

Hello,
I have a big problem with Android on my Galaxy S can not collegrmi the corporate network as if the phone does not pass the PROXY connection it provides a set APN with proxy on port 8080 and authenticate. if I link the phone to the PC mode WiFi RIEC tamite the Galaxy to navigate with the browser of your PC use Chrome.
then the problem could be between your phone and the ISA server?? or it could be that your browser does not allow me to set the proxy and the gateway 8080??.
Thanks for the replies
Sorry but Nobody will be able to help you unless you write this in normal English! My English is quite good and I can't understand what the problem is exactly!

Sorry but hahahahahaha.
I think you cant connect to your corporate network amirite?
You can connect the phone as a hotspot on your pc.
You will have to ask your IT guy for the proxy settings for your corporate network.
I think the problem is due connections which require apn with proxy authentication

there is no private APN
but there are private Wireless Access Point (WiFi)
WAP is not the same as APN
APN is used by the cell phone to provide 3G/HSDPA over the air
if you have trouble authenticating to your WiFi at work, then as your IT guy for the authentication method.
if they use a browser authentication, you should be able to login after you type in your credentials
you mean VPN?

I use proxy server for wifi and cell phone business to Provide
3G/HSDPA over the air.
I made the following settings on Galaxy D created new APN:
Name :****
APN: Access Point
Proxy: local *****.*****.
Port: 8080
Username: my username
Password: *****
Authentication Type: PAP
Type APN: Internet
This configuration works on Windows Mobile 6.5 Phone and
work on Galaxy S.
Do you have suggestions this is a big problem because if a Galaxy
phone business.
Nobody can find a solution to this problem?
May can help but can u explain again the real problem.

i'm proxy business proxy authentication required
Sorry, but your post is not very clear. Anyway you should set a local APN only if somehow your company has a private GPS/UMTS network, since the APN is used when connected to the telephone network.
If you are connecting via WiFi the APN has nothing to do with that.
Instead go to the WiFi setup screen, select 'New network' and choose company network to setup your authentication parameters.
Short version in Italian:
l'apn non c'entra niente a meno che tu non abbia una rete cellulare privata nell'azienda, che mi sembra improbabile. Devi configurare la rete WiFi a mano dalla schermata di configurazione WiFi.

You really dont know what ur talking about, this guy is using the ACCESS POINT of his company, yes .. it exists !!
I got exactly the same problem, we also use our own APN from the company.
I get a message from the proxy itself: "Authentication required" it doesnt matter if i fill in the Username and Password or keep it blank, somehow it doesnt recognize the credentials, and the proxy keeps showing this message.
The account i use is able to get on internet, with Windows Mobile i dont have any problem with the same settings.
I'm busy mailing HTC about it, but i have to get passed their default answers like:
Did u trying to send an SMS to blahblah with "internet", so u will get the internet settings ... bs answers ..
Anyway, if i get a solution, ill post it here, otherwise ill send them all back !
Edit: I have HTC Legend's btw, so it's probably Android OS related ...

You can have ur own private APN, so it will make an connection to the provider, they will link you to your company APN and from there you can get on the company network with VPN.
Offcourse it works if u use the default APN off the provider, bcause u dont need any credentials for that ... and there's where the problem occures .. at the credential thingy.
SIM -> Provider -> company APN -> VPN -> Company Network -> Proxy -> Internet
So then, it seems like this is going back to the VPN settings...

Ok, and what's ur story to support what ur saying exactly ?
Why does it work perfect with Windows Mobile .. same VPN etc. ?
Edit: I had some contact with HTC, they advised me to shutdown the proxy server and try again ... so i asked this person to ask someone who is more technical and knows what the function of a proxy server is in the first place.
They told me a technical guy will call me in 1 day, and that was a week ago already. To be continued ....
most corporate or business networks, needs VPN credentials to login either via the proxy or via the VPN settings
but both are VPNs
depending on the requirements of your intranet, you might need to have your certificates input in one or the other profile
also some networks will require you to import a SSL certificate, or similar keys, specially when dealing with Cisco VPNs... which i'm pretty sure there is no way to get it to work properly with the SGS until they improve the software or release a 3rd party VPN apps for Android

The working Windows Mobile devices don't use certificates either, and it works.

The VPN is running at the provider, when i have a connection, i can access all internal systems ... the only problem is the way out, the proxy. It's not like every mobile device is installed with VPN software. Or maybe i don't understand ?

Change Proxy

Hi All
I have HTC HD with Energy BLACKSTONE 28244 Sense2.5 Cookie.2.0 Nov.13 ROM
I live in IRAN , Facebook & Twitter were filtered , I need help to change the proxy of Opera or IE , if possible change Facebook & Twitter App. proxy settings be able to connect to free Internet.
i use WiFi or MTN GPRS to connect
Please help me
Unfortunately it might not be possible.
You can go into Connections, then click on the Connections icon - click "set up my proxy server" and you will see the "Proxy server" and "Advanced" button if there is already one there.
You will need to find an open SOCKS4 or SOCKS5 proxy server based outside of Iran which will be accessible over your 3G network - your mobile provider might block the standard SOCKS proxy ports (3128 and 1080, if I remember correctly) so unfortunately it might not work even if you find one.
Also, all of your 3G traffic is probably being proxied by your mobile operator anyway including DNS requests, which I'm fairly sure is how you're being blocked. You may have to do a lot of work (rent proxy server service) in order to get round the block.
Best of luck...

Thanks for the reply febycv, I tried the settings above, unfortunately, it didn't work, I tried WCDMA and GSM/WCDMA auto, but I can't seem to get a 3G, 3.5G or 4G signals on top of the phone, I checked if it might have been my sim card, so I tried using a different sim card from the same carrier but I still can't get a 3G sign/signal on top of the phone, tried it in different locations as well, am I missing something? Is there a setting that I left unchecked or something? TIA

The Globe Telecoms network is running on 21Mbit/s HSPA+ technology on the 2100MHz band.
As of August, 2011 only Metro Manila is covered by HSPA+ coverage. Other major cities and provinces are set to get HSPA+ coverage by the end of the year.
The T-Mobile myTouch 4G is designed for band frequency HSDPA 900 / 1700 / 2100 and uses the T-Mobile HSPA+ network (speed upto 42Mbps) all over the U.S.
So if you are in Metro Manila you will get 3.5G or 4G speed on your myTouch 4G.

Nice to hear that it is working.Aha.About 2G.I think you read about that MT4G has 2100mhz HSDPA freq.So if your service provider Globe does not provide this band, you can't get 3.5G.Unlucky I also have that problem.I have bad 3G signals because of this 2100mhz band. Most of asian service providers provide 900 or 1900mhz band. But I don't know about Globe.
Yes,Nokia phones can detect 3g,3.5G because must of them have 900mhz band.I think MT4G has not 900mhz UMTS band.I have very good 3.5G signals on my Nokia 6220c (same service provider).
Another thing, did you choose WCDMA ONLY option in your Mobile Network settings? Or just use GSM ONLY option? Check it out.May be you are using GSM ONLY option. This may the reason to show 2G.Change it under
SETTING> WIRELESS & NETWORKS> MOBILE NETWORKS> NETWORK MODE> change to CDMA ONLY.
That's all..
I tried setting it in WCDMA because it was on GSM/WCDMA auto, and it worked like a charm!!! Thanks crazykas!!! Btw where did you get those settings?
4G worked, when I access the browser I can surf the net, but when I access apps that needs internet connection, I can't access the internet, I repeatedly accessed market, youtube and yahoo messenger, it can't get internet access, but when I access the browser I can go online. Hmmmm where do you think the hiccup is? TIA

Entering proxy settings to access university internet via WiFi

Hi all. I have been trying for a long time to get the internet to work (on my Samsung Galaxy S II) while being connected to my university's WiFi. My university provides passwords to some of it's access points. I successfully connected to the access point (Student), but the internet didn't not work. Also connected to a second access point, still nothing
My university runs on a proxy network and so certain details need to be entered into the device's browser. The proxy settings for my university's internet are: Address: proxy.xx.yy (second and third set hidden for privacy) and Port: 8080. My friend got his internet working on his iPhone, as there was a screen to add these proxy settings. People have also got the internet to work on their laptops by entering those settings. However I have looked everywhere but can't seem to find the proxy settings screen on my Galaxy S II. Help would be much appreciated.
Add a Wi-Fi network under Wi-Fi settings (not sure which Android version you have as I'm going off of CM 10.1) and there is a checkbox for advanced options then it should be there.
