WANTED: Stock firmware Cingular 8125 - 8125, K-JAM, P4300, MDA Vario General

I put a custom WM 6.5 ROM on my Cingular 8125 and now it's not stable any more so I want to revert back. Does anyone know where I can find the most recent stock firmware? It has been removed from AT&T's site, they link to HTC's site, and it's been removed from there too. I can't find it anywhere using Google.

I posted all available ROMs in the "Wiki"

Thanks! I thought I looked there last week and the wiki wasn't working, but it's fine now.

are these stock roms more lightweight?

No, not at all, they are full of crapware, but they are less buggy and I want to sell my phone and I don't want the buyer complaining that this or that doesn't work right.

summiter seems to be up on it
All I can say is that Summiter's 2.17 rom (which you can easily find on the FTP) is WELL worth updating to. It is MUCH faster, includes more features, and is extremely easy to install and does not even require the phone to be unlocked. I've been using it for awhile now and there are no missing features that the old ROM had, and everything just seems to work a bit better. 8) Go for it.

TELUS HTC P4000 (Canadian TITAN Counterpart)

Good morning Everyone,
I was looking into information on updating my Cell phone ROM as after some reading and searching I found out that this phone is GPS capable (Why they would sell it with the functionality disabled is beyond me.) On the Official HTC website I did find a new update that was released 08/06/2008 at the following link. CLICKY! . I am wounder if anyone else is having a problem downloading this file and installing it? I receive an error saying the file is corrupt and I should download the file again. I have tried downloading the file from two separate computers, tried all three mirror sites (US, Europe, Asia) and last but not least tried using three different web browsers. Firefox, Internet Explorer, and Safari for Windows.
I am curious if anyone knows of another mirror site for this newly released update that is working? Or of another way I can update to the same version. I am unfamiliar with the ROMs that are on this website (I could figure it out but am uneasy about installing something unofficial.) Any help would be greatly appreciated.
PS: I also noticed that the file name "-HTC P4000 (Telus)-Telus_HTC_P4000_WM6_07252007.exe" Has an old date on it? I am hoping they just rebuilt a previous update, or they have not actually posted the new update and still have an old one which happens to not work. Just an observation I noticed.
PSS: I have sent in a technical help request through the online process of HTC asking for a link to a working .exe but I tend to find that out of the norm requests such as this do not turn out very well with corporations whose support team are really only knowledgeable in standard help desk things IE: I'm too stupid to turn on my phone can you help me?
Did you follow the instructions here?

I did a while back and it worked. If not, just switch to DCD's, it's awesome. Telus's 6.1 ROM doesn't enable your GPS.
Ya that is currently the ROM I am running, Maybe I am just mixed up. I looked at the HTC website for the TELUS rom and noticed the date for release was 08/06/2008 so I was under the assumption they had released an updated ROM that was a newer version then 2.13.661.2 which I am already running. One that would also patch the GPS (just a guess). However, I guess I will look into the DCD roms and see if I can fumble through the guides to get it loaded. Thanks anyways.

Being half way through custom install (with all nightmares and mistakes ) I found this official update too. Confirm too: everything works as expected.
Took a while for GPS to pick up in Richmond Hill, Ontario, but the it worked like a charm!

2nd that. Upgraded from the old v2 and now to this one GPS and everything worked great with Google Maps.. I didn't bother stopping that customization thing like I've read in other post. Loaded that HTC home Plugin v2.1 on it and its fine.

backing up the oem rom on a ppc6800

i'm very new here so please go easy with short hand, thx
I joined today and have been searching all day on this site and many others to see if there is a way to completely back up my oem rom so if i want i could reinstall it. and have been unsuccessfull in understanding if it can be done and how hard or easy it is. please any info will help.
Depending who your provider is, there are several stock roms already available. One of the few that I know of that is not available is US Cellular, and it's being worked on. As far as the other major providers, stocks are available and can for the most part be downloaded from HTC's website. Check there first, and if one is available, you are better off downloading it and using it to flash back if you want to go back.

thx for the reply, i did find a post for my rom its an alltel with 1.40 radio but the link took me to htc site. no rom down load that i could find there. the post was on this site it said he finaly got them updated but i couldnt figure out where on htc site. any info will help. my plan is to find it first and download to safe keep. then the fun will be on... i hope
For some reason HTC took down Altel's rom, however in the programing forum someone just posted a rapidshare version of Altel's rom, it should be near the end of one of the top 15 posts, scan thru them and you should be able to find it.
Here is the link to the post.

Roll-back from Verizon Official WM 6.1 ROM & GPS

I foolishly upgraded to the recently released WM 6.1 ROM from Verizon, apparently Verizon's locked down the GPS so you can only use VZNavigator. There's a work-around, but I still like my custom ROM better anyway.
So, my question is, once I ran the Verizon ROM did it update the firmware for the GPS chipset and this that what locks down the GPS, or do they do that in windows? Can I go back to a custom ROM and have a working GPS, or do I need to (and can I) re-flash with another carrier's ROM first to roll-back firmware in GPS?

What? Every user with the VZW ROM has GPS, including myself. Where did you get the ROM from?

GPS never worked on my XV6900 with the VZW ROM...
See this thread here for info on making the GPS work http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=424387, and an article here http://www.phonenews.com/verizons-htc-xv6900-update-packs-punch-were-offering-it-early-5417/ dated 11/11/08 - maybe I'm missing something though (maybe I'm in the wrong forum? )
I've since tried using an older alltel ROM, then going back to my cooked ROM with no luck. I seem to recall reading somewhere though that it wasn't necessarily a good idea to roll back firmware, so I re-ran the VZW rom, skipped customizations, then put a cooked ROM back on, tried this fix http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=VerizonAGPSFix, which worked previously, but still no luck.

Official ROM Upgrade for HTC HD2 (T-Mobile) UK 26/04/10 1.72.110.4

Sorry if other people have already seen this, I did a search and couldn't find anything. I just noticed that T-Mobile have released (via HTC) an official UK (and Germany and Czech Republic) a 1.72 version of the ROM for the HD2 on the 26th April 2010 (2 days ago).

Im installing now...where do I find that info ? biggest noob of em all
Is this just for T Mobile usres as the name sugests??
Im on O2, completely new to Winmo and smart phones at that!!!
Not rele sure what i need to do, but im trying to sort things out.
No to 3.5..... shocker
Manila 2012 but I can't see any differences over the former 1920..... please feel free to correct me
Personally, I can't see / feel many if any decent changes.......
If you install, your phone will be as you originally received it (save the updated software) so you will have to re-install everything...
If I had the previous 1.43 I would flash back...
I havent added anything as yet as i only had it since monday!!
Sorry to sound dumb, was is flash back??
Then you have nothing to worry about....
is there some sort of changelog for this?
please do report on what its like, particularly stability and messaging
then i might do my first HD2 flash...
i upgraded from original 1.43 stock rom and must say its a lot smoother than before, doesnt freeze up as much very little lagging.
no real difference in battery life, maybe a touch better but the main difference for me is that HTC messaging works instead of me having to rever back to wm messaging.
also, it came with .net 3.5 so i dont know why others have said it doesnt.
well im sold!
will DL and flash tonight!
thanks for the report jonyid
Any Ideas

What ROM are you using, as T-MobUK have only had 1.43 and now 1.72?
I am also with T-MobUK but I quickly dumped ROM 1.43, HSPL'd and went for the HTC standard WWE 1.66 ROM. Since T-MobUK 1.72 is WWE1.66 with T-Mob bloatware added, then there is no point updating.
If you really want the 1.72 ROM, I'll get it for you.
Hi Please ignore above I have just discovered even though I bought my phone as a t-mobile one it is in fact the unlocked phone, so am I right in understanding that the latest rom for my phone (according to HTC's Site) is 166.405.2

I recently upgraded my Tmobile 1.43 Rom to the new 1.72.110.4 from the HTC website. So far it seems to be ok. Not much of a difference: Solitaire and Bubble breaker have been added, You Tube, Bing search and one or two additions as well. Most importanly however is the performance of the HTC messaging program. I used PIM back toback up for my text messages, contacts, calender. Ugraded the ROM, (took about 10mins or less) and restored text messages from the back up file.
Restore process showed me 7000+ texts copied to the device. Restarted the device, checked messaging and got the "restoring messages" status bar. Took about 1 hour since then, I have noticed a marked improvement in the HTC messaging application. Can now continue using the phone even when a text comes in, can delete without having to wait ages for the device to start up again.
BTW I have some apps installed: TomTom 6, Swype, Skype, TCPMP player, Registry editor, etc.
Hope that information helps or encourages someone!
does anyone know if its possible to go back to the 1.43 ROM??? (just curious....)
Noob question here... as I have flashed my device and installed a custom ROM (or many) already will this take HSPL off my device? Will it be ok to do the normal install or will it brick my device?
I'm just trying to get my phone back to stock Rom levels as I need to return it to Tmobile and this is the only place I've managed to find the TmobileUK stock ROM.
Help? Please?!
Can anyone help with this at all? Please?!
