This project started as just a modified version of Defrost rom and has now shifted to a flashable theme where YOU choose the base rom. Currently it supports Open Desire, Defrost and CyanogenMod. It is made this way with the aim of you having the most choice. It gives me opportunity to work more on updates to actual theme files. The themes should remain compatible with updates to the roms other than big updates.
I will work my hardest to keep the theme updated

You now choose the base rom. DF/CM/OD or now DEODEXED Sense roms.
Touchwiz launcher port.
Touchwiz wallpaper chooser.
Galaxy S Theme ported by myself with extra blue bits added.
Black/Dark sms app from CyanogenMod 6.
Blue Dialer/Contacts (From mythamps)
Modified music.apk (See screens of widgets)
Custom boot animation made for me. (Thanks Xevin!)
NOTES:
For colours to be set for date and time etc. During flashing a file called cmparts_ui.xml is written to sdcard. All you need to do is go to settings, CyanogenMod Settings (Or OD Settings), User Interface, Tweaks Extras and select import from xml. Then reboot.
Using the touchwiz launcher!
You will notice that in my screen i have 4 icons on the bottom bar. To do this you need to press applications icon then press menu button. Choose edit then you may drag whatever icons you want to display on your homescreen to the bottom bar. This is just how the touchwiz launcher works. You can also select edit and press icons to delete them.
If you have missing icons for your apps after restoring them please make sure you are using an ext partition on your sdcard. Touchwiz doesn't like Googles a2sd.
DOWNLOAD:
The zips ARE NOT SIGNED. Disable sig verification in recovery first or just use ClockworkMod.
OpenDesire Theme (4.0.10)

Reboot to recovery and flash theme zip.
Import colour settings from SD.
Done!
CREDIT:
I realise some stuff i used (Music Mod, Touchwiz) were made by or ported by other people. I forget their names but just want to make it clear i am not claiming any credit for them.

Can someone who has downloaded this please upload to multiupload so i can provide a 1 file link in the original post? I shall credit accordingly.

As i changed it to Dark Tremors a2sd it is only regular a2sd but like in first post i said download any terminal app. Type "su" then type "a2sd cachesd" and it will move dalvik cache to sd card.

That's great thanks kmetek. Got a message from drop box about my excessive bandwidth usage lol. Will update first post.
I think youre right about too many roms!
Wicked man thanks :+) this is just what i wanted loved the look of gefrost but didnt want a galaxy style theme so this is top. Hope you keep updating this
As long as richard updates defrost then blufrost and gefrost will at minimum be updated to a newer base.
That's great mate thanks
Running it now. Do you have some battery tips defrost 2.9a seems to cane my battery (i know your nothing to do with defrost but saw somewhere you get pretty good bat even on overclocked rom )
All I can say is I use manual brightness at around 40% most the time. I use juice defender with stock settings. Set cpu I use profiles. I have it set to go to the lowest speed when the screen its off, when battery is below 40% its set to cut speed to half. The rest of the time set to full.
I have weather and face book and twitter sync every two hours. That's about everything. The biggest battery killer its when the optical joypad dies. Requiring a reboot. Which is a problem on defrost, open desire and cyanogen mod.
Is this the same as Gefrost but w/out touchwiz?

I never claim to do any thing exciting. Anything I have done is what I have done for myself to use and if only 1or 2 people use it I don't mind. It is something that anyone can do themselves but not everyone is comfortable taking apart apk's and editing xml.
I'm just having fun learning.

Maybe not, but this is the perfect vanilla rom. Love the look and feel of the Gala S themes, and DeFrost has always been a great base for roms. I might start learning about deving soon.
Sent from my HTC Desire
I might have a go at this.
what is the difference between gefrost and blufrost??
it seems identical...
You are right they are almost identical. They both use Defrost 2.9a as a base.
Code:
Gefrost BluFrost
Touchwiz Launcher Standard Launcher2 (Slight blue theming)
Galaxy S Live Wallpapers Standard Nexus Live Wallpapers (With Cyanogen Nexus)
Galaxy S UI Sounds Standard UI Sounds
Some extra blue bits (Volume slider, browser loading)
BluFrost is basically Defrost 2.9a themed dark/blue and Gefrost is an attempt at having a Galaxy S experience. All the time using the same awesome base rom. I never claimed it was anything more.
EDIT:
Just to repeat myself. All this is something you could do yourself if you wanted to download all the files and put it together yourself. The image editing and xml work i have done is very basic however i just share it in case there may be one or two users who would like to use it.
Hiiii!
Looks really nice to me! but when i try to flash it i get :
" E:Missing file: data/app/com.koushikdutta.rommanager.apk
E: Verification failed
Installation aborted. "
Sorry if it's a supid question, but, what can i do?
[EDIT]
Sorry, I forgot to disable verification... was stupid indeed

zxhian, i believe that in the next version you should include these icons for battery..
It works on LOL ROM 1.2 but the standard theme had Reboot + Recovery in Power Menu and now when I press the Power button, the phone restarts.
If you could add Reboot + Recovery it will fully work on LOL ROM too.
P.S: A black pop-up menu would look great.
Thank you !

LoL 1.4 ROM disappears "power menu"
Can you fix it?
Very good job, looks perfect
for the reboot option/power menu, bear in mind that this mod used the stock framework of void and devoid, have to implement hard coding and a lot of complex stuff that deals with some xmls in order for it to work on void, unfortunately im not that good in coding, this also goes to the percentage stat_batt would yield a lot fc's on stock void
but here's pointing you the right direction:
however in concept using a different framework as base native to the rom/theme and merging the images from my modded framework would also lead to the same look.
i played around with the bestdaniel's and giveme13's framework native to their respective themes, themes that alter a lot of these xmls and a lot of complex coding, but posting it here would yield a different theme altogether and don't want to completely mess with their hardwork
SUGGESTION
Ok since this works with LOL builds 1.2 or 1.3 or 1.4
I was think that that transformation pack 1.0 would fit with this theme make the optimous one look like a sick device
Only a suggestion
Thanks for spending hard hours on this thanks

CM 6.3.4
Miui Mix Theme
Procedure to install theme
Flash using AOR 3.3. Wipe ( dalvik-cache/cache ) is not required but recommended. Please use Cyanogenmod Extra Settings option to change clock color.
Download link : http://www.mediafire.com/?ra1hdo3lva22un1
Additional Info
This theme has a transparent status bar, so you need to use adwlauncher and untick wallpaper hack from Adw->advanced Settings. It seems to work with zeam launcher also that i am using as you can see from the screenshots. The theme also has miui music app which will be installed automatically.
Only problem is that when you have notifications, they overlap on the date as shown below.

Hi Sileshn
Will your animated themes for CM6.1.2 still work with the latest CM6 release?
Best regards
Great to see followup releases to Milaq's developments, it seems that this ROM gets traction!
Anyway, would it be possible for you to distribute your themes via a CM4MM channel? Users would benefit by being able to quickly spot updates for relevant versions of Milaq's ROM, including changelogs and screenshots.

OK i tried flashing and they got stuck in the Cyanogen Mod bootscreen. :O needless to say it doesn't work
Is it possible for you to update them Sileshn? I really love the animation effect you used for those themes

unfortunately, they won't as they weren't mm themes and many things have changed in the framework and the sys apks.

Anyway, would it be possible for you to distribute your themes via a CM4MM channel? Users would benefit by being able to quickly spot updates for relevant versions of Milaq's ROM, including changelogs and screenshots.

@silesh: if you want you can of course create a theme channel/server for your themes. it would definately be awesome as it would enrich the themes section in the cm4mm updater
all you need is an update_theme.json file lingering around somewhere in the web. furthermore your downloads must be downloable by appending the filename of the theme to a base url (e.g. http://sileshthemes.com/themes/ and the theme http://sileshthemes.com/themes/TI_Metamorph_milaq_CM6.zip).
as the updater is build upon the old cyanogenmod updater you could use this as reference http://code.google.com/p/cyanogen-updater/wiki/CreateJSONMetadataFile
and of course this: https://github.com/milaq/cm4mm-updater-manifest/blob/master/update_theme.json
for metamorph themes just use a * for the "mod" tag.
your serverurl could then be distributed through a barcode (just the plain update_theme.json location url coverted to a barcode. although if you decide to create a themeserver i could include yours in the "featured themes" section so that users don't need a barcode at all (not working atm, if clicked, users get vanilla CM themeservers - next version will change that).
cheers
EDIT: but i could host them for you as well if you want to
Thanks Milaq. Let me get a hang of it. I'll let you know.

Thanks!

While working on making the port of MIUI for the Kindle Fire more usable for the tablet I decided to take on modifying the launcher. After a bit of smali work I was able to allow the number of rows and columns in the launcher to be adjusted.
Although I originally intended this mod to be primarily for the Kindle Fire port of MIUI.us, I have received numerous requests for the modified apk. So, without further ado, I bring to the masses the MIUI Launcher with adjustable homescreen grid size. I started this mod with MIUI 2.1.13 so make sure you download the APK that goes with your version of MIUI.
Please note this will not work with other ROMs as it relies heavily on the MIUI framework.
Instructions
--------------------------------
1) Download the appropriate APK and place it in the root of your SD card
2) Rename the file to Launcher2.apk
3) Using either Root Explorer or ES File Explorer (with root privileges) copy the file to /system/app
4) Change the file permissions to -rw-r--r--
5) At this point your Launcher probably closed so press home to bring it back up. At this point it should be the new modified version. If not, just reboot your device.
6) Go to launcher settings and adjust the # of columns and rows you would like. hint: start out with small values and increase them as you see fit
7) Once you change the # of columns and rows press Reset Launcher to get the launcher to use the new settings.
8) Enjoy getting a little more room for your favorite apps and widgets.
Files

Launcher for MIUI 2.1.13
Launcher for MIUI 2.1.20

Nope not just tablets. It started out as a need for something better on a tablet but it should work just as well on other devices.
The request I was receiving were for people that wanted to use it on their phone and it has worked well for them.
bro,
1. do it support scrollable widget?
2. support widget resize?

#1 is probably much more of a realistic possibility, while #2 would really take some work seeing as I am working in pure smali. That's not to say it can't be done, but with the way the MIUI launcher deals with widget placement, it may take quite a bit of work to implement it.

If I had the time to dig into such an endeavor, I would. Right now I have other projects that require my attention.
Who knows, I may need a little break and decide to give it a shot.
nice work bro!
i got a request for you
can you make the edits needed for this nice hack in the launcher2.apk in THIS zip?
the launcher2.apk included in the zip above does support scrollable widgets
and when you change the density the icons will remain all the same size
and the text label will be just under the icon instead of in the icon like in your screenshots
i hope you can look at it thanks
PS. the .13 launcher just works in the .20 rom

I'm not about to go and use another person's work without permission. I'll have to make sure it is alright with the original creator of that mod before using their work. I can however, look into what it takes to enable these features and just implement them myself. The icon title is an easy one so no worries there. Scrollable widgets however, I have not used so I'll have to take a look at them.

True, the 2.1.13 launcher does work, but there are some subtle differences in them that may or may not be an issue. If it works and there are no issues then great, but if there are it may be best to use the version that corresponds to the ROM.
Will this work on the ICS test 1.11.9 build? I'm not sure what the newer updates include as far as the code, but I figure they might include some of the stuff from 1.11.9

Nope not gonna work.
Let me try this one more time. It is for MIUI v2.1.13 or v2.1.20. Those version numbers are from the official miui.com versions.
If you change the grid size, your folders look terrible once opened.

Not working for me on MIUI 2.1.13 on HTC HD2 NAND
After replace of Launcher only Bootloop!
thx
working for me, thx for that!
only thing i really miss is the possibilty to deactivate the text label of the apps under the icons, because depending on the values i choose for gridsize the names overlap each other, so it would make sense if they could be deactivated.
do you think there is a possibility to include this feature? or could/would you tell me how i can do it myself?
greetz,
sUsH667
Can anyone make it for non miui Rom .
HTC Sense 3.5,Android 2.3.5
Great looking mod, any chance you can make a mod for MIUI 2.2.3?
you should try this one which i pulled from the switch-tweaks-pack made by prazaar, all credits go to him!
just copy it to /system/app overwriting the existing launcher in there (backup before!) and giving it rw-r--r-- permissions, then restart and that's it. if you experience any problems you could wipe cache and dalvik-cache and reboot again, but i don't think it is necessary.
i am using this one and it has customizable grid-size AND the possibilty to deactivate the text label of the apps under the icons and all the other stuff, too!
as always, i am not responsible for nothing bla...

I have found a possibility to install the ICS Standard Clock (ClockPackage.akp)! I have copied with a root Explorer apk to Home> system> app. Then I have copied a second renamed apk (rename ClockPackage.apk to com.clockpackage-1.apk) to home> data> app. After the app was installed in the drawer. Maybe you have to change the settings for tones, because for me the standard timer tone was not available (included) . I hope I could help.

Hi, I had a question about this. I'm running CM9 and the AOSP clock is garbage compared to the one that comes with Samsung ROMS (no world clock, timer, stop watch). Is there a way to get the Samsung clock, get rid of the touchwiz requirement and use it on CM9. Apparently the GNex owners have been able to do it but that version does not look good since the resolution is different. Here's a link to that thread.
Samsung clock probably requires the framework from Touchwiz, if the ROM isn't a Touchwiz based ROM it's unlikely that you would be able to port it.
Hi, I m on Foxhound 0.4 Rom using apex launcher. So i cant tell u if this will work for u. Took the apk from Omega ICS 5.0 rom. So just try it. Here are a few screenshoots how the clock look.

Like I said, it does require Touchwiz, but the thread I linked to shows the Galaxy nexus owners able to install it by removing touchwiz specific parts from the apk. I'm hoping someone can replicate it for our phones.

I'm not familiar with those roms, but if they are based on samsung roms then it needs touchwiz, which doesn't help. i don't think they are aosp, but if they are can you post the clock.apk? thanks
Here is the apk from epic 4g touch which works on cm9. I tried to edit my build.prop to the epic 4g because the dpi is the same as our phone but i'm not sure i edited all the lines. I changed only the values that CWM recovery was showing for "assert failed" after failing installation. The exact lines I edited are in the attachment. Can anyone tell me what else needs to be changed. Thanks

I m just a user not dev or something like that. i just found that out, at trying to get that clock installing.
A good alternative is "Ice Cream Sandwich Clock" apk by "julios js" available from the market, which is supposed to work regardless of your android version

OK, it seams I'm doing something wrong.
I have a SGS2.
I'm running CM9, to be more specific: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1530179
I copy your attached file ClockPackage.apk using Root Explorer (in R/W mode) to:
/system/app/ClockPackage.apk
and
/data/app/com.clockpackage-1.apk
And then I reboot the phone... Wipe cache and Dalkiv-Cache...
But nothing happened.
I also try to "install" the ClockPackage.apk, but says that cannot be installed.
Should I first delete the CM9 original clock?
What I'm doing wrong?
Thanks!
It seams that what is needed is this: http://epiccm.blogspot.com.ar/2012/01/porting-touchwiz-apps-for-cm7.html
And a version of the files can be found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1452004
But I'm not sure if will work.
Also, we need to update the files to ICS, because seams that the files are for CM7 (GB).
Hi,
You need Touchwizz installed to make the clock 1.0 to work.
I tested with CM9 and D4rom but the clock doesn't install.
So I installed the Darky rom LPQ
.ttp://.ww.darkyrom.com/community/index.php?threads/i9100-cwm-darkyrom-hd-base-xxlpq.7376/
This is the stock rom with a few things and the nova launcher.
The clock 1.0 is already in so it works great.
Please correct the link because I'm not authorised to post them yet. I have not enought post.
Best regards.
domzique, thanks. But I was looking for a method to install Clock 1.0 in CM9.
Im trying to find the clock 1.0 for AOKP based roms, searched everywhere but cant find it
SGS2: didn't work here neither
