I see a blue dot. Is it a dead pixel? - Droid Incredible General

There was nothing on my screen but now I have a blue dot in the middle of screen.
It looks like a small cross.
Is there any way that I can remove it?
I didn't know it would happen to amoled...

screen burn in. 4 months old. should i do something about it ?

i have the nexus S for like 3 or 4 monthjs now. i noticed that if i hide for example the notification bar on top. a slight burn in on the screen appears for like 2 seconds then it dissapears.
i wonder. will it get any worse ? what are my options here ?
if i put a live wallpaper, will it go still effect the screen?
honestly this is the only screen after like 5 nexus that doesnt have grid pattern, doesnt have dead pixels. doesnt have pink or yellow ugly colors.
What model you got?

what else would it be ? if i hide the status bar. i can see marks of the clock and the line " where the statusbar is available " for like 2 seconds before it dissapear.
I think you might be seeing some lag on your screen and just think you see a burn effect. Samoled can not get burned in.
Also, when pulling down the notification over things like android keyboard it shows through a little. It as if it was a screen burn effect.

If its there for 2 seconds and then it disappears then its definitely not a screen burn effect. It would have been permanent.
How are you hiding the status bar?

burn in has to be permanent. if it is just for 2 seconds, it might be the pixels readjusting to return back to normal.... i can't think of anything else.

You know, it is possible that its your own eye getting the burn. I mean if you have the screen brightness all the way up and switch that part of the screen to all black your eyes will get that burn effect and slowly fade out. Get a camera and record it. Watch the video and if its not in video then I'm correct in assuming its your eyes.

I think it is normal. For example I can see the status bar when XDA app is loading, throught the brown/orange full screen splash.
But that is not burn in, or it would always be there, like someone already said.
Well. What do u call that?

i have slight burn-in in my status bar too, super amoled. its only noticable slightly in the dark on a completely white scree. honestly, its no issue at all. it will happen with time. it was more noticable on my nexus one.

This is not true. At bestbuy they have a nexus s on display. You can see a slighty faded android with an exclamation symbol burned into the screen. It becomes VERY noticable when youre viewing a webpage since its all white.
My hypothesis is that the samoled pixel colors all age differently. since the status bar pixels are almost never lit up, they would show a slightly different color. But thats just an hypothesis. Its not a fact.

haha!!! at last we find a flaw in your super super nexus s
anyway, on topic, i had it too on the n1 but that was comprehensible as froyo had a whitish statusbar. this one is black ( pixels are not being lit up). i can imagine burn in with the clock or some of the green icons but the statusbar itself ??

Blue or white ?

I'm about to buy one but can't really decide on which color, help.w

I have both and I love the blue. It's different. The face (screen) is awesome. It's like blue steel.

I like the blue, finger prints are an issue though on the back. Not a big deal.
BLUE....AO....SHIRO DEWARIMASEN!
Lol, get blue.
I know you don't wanna hear this but it's really just personal preference..but either way
White!
I saw the blue and thought it was just ok, that and I'm sick of black / dark colored phones..
Went with white. I always had dark colored phones as well, plus the blue looks more purple then anything! And the home button is a different color, which makes it looks ugly in my opinion.
I ordered white and I went to T-Mobile store to check them out. I left with a big relief since I still want the white.
It's of course a personal preference. If you have any doubt you should go look at them side by side.
White, it looks awesome.
blue cuz it's an awesome color

I have the blue, but went out today and took a look at the white, certainly better looking than the blue, however I still have a problem with carrying a white phone around, just looks odd to me. It's kinda like painting my house pink, eewww.
Also the blue is a finger print magnet. I have the mesh case on mine to help with that problem.
Thx for the opions guys.

I preferred the brushed aluminum look of the blue but the different colored home button threw it off. I went with white, it's all the same shade and matches anything

same here. I actually liked the blue a lot. but the metal rim has such a purple tone I can't help feeling it's gimmicky.
I have seen them both in person and after doing so, I'm glad I pre-ordered white.
I have both colors

I went with white. As many people said before, I am tired of having a black phone all the time. In my opinion the white just looks so much better. Again just my opinion.
Blue. It looks sleek and futuristic. Here's mine...
the post above gives a really good idea of the blue, i have seen both and the white one looks very plasticky (also there is light bleeding on the cap lights for every white samsung phone which i cannot stand), the blue has an elegant brushed finish, i would go for the blue again if i ever had to re purchase.

Yellow spots when warm

Hi guys has anyone experienced yellow marks on the screen after a bit of usage? Specifically, mine appear just above the soft keys.
Any clue as to whether these will fade after time ala iPhone? My first one x had them in places and they wouldn't disappear.

Yellowing on Nexus 4

Quite recently it's becoming more and more noticeable on white backgrounds that my nexus is growing on 'yellow spots'.
Has anyone had this issue? Did a replacement resolve it?
Thanks

If you search, there's plenty of thread about this yellow screen and yellow spot, they are both different problem. I have a yellow spot when the phone warms up, my wife phone have a yellow tint screen while my is a cool white screen. Nothing much you can do about the yellow spot if you have it, people will say it will go away when the glue dry, but that's just bull****. deal with it or rma to see if you get a better phone.

G2 Black or White

Which do you guys prefer? White or black? and why?
Black I have a white one and my ocd just goes crazy you will have to clean it more when its white
Sent from my LG-VS980 using Tapatalk
I've had a white one since november and its been flawless. No case either. No ocd issues. Guess it depends on the environment. I also like the white because it shows of the size of your screen better. This is the first white phone I have had and was worried i might not like it but those worries disappeared as soon as i open the box.

Definitely white. I love my white G2, looks way more elegant and distinctive.
I've had the unfortunate opportunity of owning both a black, and a white one which I got to replace my old one. The white definitely looks better and you can't see the fingerprints, also it looks more "premium" according to my family members.

I thought so too till I realized it's a fingerprint magnet, the white is better at covering that up.

white.
less fingerprints. Don't see much of other dirt stuff.
and best of all it looks different than all the blackies out ther.
White here as well. Looks cleaner than black even with all the fingerprints.
Sent from my LG-D802 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
Looked at both and I picked black I have had a white note 1 and note 2 so I picked Black this timeso I can't be ocd about the black line around the screen being noticeable on the white model. No regrets on picking black
Sent from my LG-D800 using xda app-developers app
I have a black one and my best friend got a white one. I dislike the black stripe between the bezel and the screen on the white one... but except that the white is more impressive and hides fingerprints perfectly also the screenprotector is invisible on the white... so if you like the color white all the way:good:
I keep a soft touch case on my black one because of the horrible fingerprint problem. So really it didn't matter to me what color I got. Case helps you to find the power key easier too.
