Battery stuck at 1% since noon - Streak 5 General

Hey guys so my battery has been stuck on 1% since noon, I like to drain it completely once in a while so I have wifi on, watched some videos, played a few games and its still on. Any chance to reset battery history to get accurate readings. On rooted phones you can by going to recovery but I haven't rooted yet. Suggestions? Thanks
P's its now 2:30 and its still going

Looks like it is Possessed i would get a Priest in for an Excommunication LOL

mine turns itself off at 4% so I don't understand how it shows 1%. But hey if it does fantastic! maybe it's drawing power from the ether

I have never let mine go below 20% but think I will let mine go dead

i should get a priests help. i dont mind it at all but it's really unreliable to know how much battery is left.

Short batt life last few days

I know alot of people comlain about the battery on the x10, but for the past few days my battery has been just terrible. Yesterday my phone shut off at 6pm. It had a full charge at 7am and couldn't even make the whole day. Bluetooth and wireless are off and I'm not streaming video so I don't get why its just started happening. Any thoughts out there?

my phone only last 10-12 hours a day, so its kind of normal for me.
If you don't use google talk you can sign out of it and save some battery.
also turn of the auto-rotate feature, that saves a lot of battery
No this is not normal, the phone was dead by 430 today and now its plugged in. At this point with batt issues and no update from sony id rather get a diffrent phone.

Read this thread.
^^^ thanks for the link, att is sending me a new battery. Which I think is the problem, I took out the batt and it read 93% after the call with att I put it back in and it read at 87%...something is def not right. Ill let you know what happens with the new battery.

I change it again, after a few min it's back too 100% percent again, and the battery decrease each 10s. I restarted and it said 77%. I didn't get it. Did anyone get the same problem as me and anyone can help me???

It is definately the android system. There is another thread here where the samsung rep says they know about this version of android and the battery issue. My tab went to zero yesterday in ten seconds. It took me a long time to get the battery meter to show it was charging again.

yep, i second you bro, if a lot of people are experiencing this then it may be due to some bug or something on the system i think its its definitely not the hardware if it is shame on samsung for manufacturing faulty devices, well lets hope for the update

Has anyone tried calibrating the battery? I just received a Tab for testing and it was used prior. Some battery monitor apps reported less then 12hours available after a full charge. After I calibrated it, i'm getting ~28 hours / moderate use before battery is depleted. What amazes me with the Tab is that when idle (overnight) there is no decrease in battery levels and graphing shows a complete flat line when idle.

I have done all of the battery recalibrations suggested here on xda to no avail. The only thing that has helped me is plugging in a portable kennsington battery by usb that tricks the battery indicator and it seems to slow down my battery drain.
Said at all, i have to get use to with it, right???

Try doing a resetting on the tab, and do a full charge, I mean let it charge for 8 hrs continuously.
If it can't work, bring it to Samsung for firmware upgrade (takes about an hour), after which do the same, long charging.
Last option, ask for an exchange with Samsung.
Rooting it has never been my option

If you can let go your tab to them for a couple of days, you can ask them to check on the status of the battery as well.

Hey guys, I was in the same boat (you can see my posts on other threads) and I have tried pretty much everything from flashing rom, resetting, calibrating, and bump charging. Last night I decided to open up the tab and look at the battery, thinking maybe I should buy a new battery to test.
Long story short, I disconnected the battery from the board and let it sit for 15mins before reconnecting. I check every couple hours to see the battery level in android. So far, I only lost 1% for 20hrs in flight mode w/o any app running. I usually lost 20% overnight and would regain that after reboot. So the problem is GONE and the system is reporting the right battery percentage without fake dropping.
I will continue to monitor it and report back, but it looks great so far. Hope this helps other XDA fellows.
Thats actually ive been wanting to do just prick it open, funny though i my problem resolved it self, last night i keep rebooting my tab up to the point it hangs and froze then i left it like that for an hour then i pressed the power button for around 10 seconds to reboot it again, once it booted up it showed the correct percentage, now im still monitoring if the trick went well..

Hi Shinji, it is quite unbelievable that the tab only drain 1% for "20hrs". But it is great, if opening the tab can solve battery issue. Now, I myself encounter some other new problems, after I solved the sudden drop in battery issue by upgrading to new firmware (e.g. 50% => ask me to shut down). Now, no matter how I charge, it will remain 67 or 70%............
Do you have the instruction to open up the tab, or any link which you can lead me too? Thanks.
Hey henrylam do you charge phone whilst on and how long do you charge for before you get fed up waiting for it to move from 70% and remove charger ?

I try both, on and off, sometimes it work sometimes it doesn't. After I have done factory reset, it seems ok for first 3 cycles. After that, the problem surfaced again.
Sometimes, it just stop charging at 65 (curvefish battery indicates) but battery icon shows like 85%. I felt like smashing the Tab and get myself a new Ipad. I am thinking to send it again to Samsung this Friday, and let them investigate for a while (hopefully 2 weeks will be sufficient). Damn it, my wife tab has no such issues. She didn't even do an upgrade on her firmware.

Odd battery-Not your usual drainage :D

Hey guys,I have seen some things with my GS2's battery that aren't exactly what you'd call normal.Let me explain:
Today,I plugged my phone it at about 45% battery for some minutes(I was gonna be away from home for a long time,so I wanted some extra unneeded juice) and unplugged it just before I left the house at 58%.I was en route to the bus station when I checked the time(I was late as always! ) to see I had 59% battery. After some twenty minutes, when I reached my destination,I took my phone out of my pocket to make a call just to see that my battery was at 61%! After that all was normal.
This was the third time I experienced something like that.First time was more impressive.I went to the cinema with 38% battery and left with 50%!All without plugging the phone anywhere!
Now,I know I shouldn't be complaining about something like that, but something must be wrong here.If everything wrong was like that I'd be a happier man,but just sayin'.
Any ideas?Or is my phone unique in that aspect?
Sounds like bad calibration to me. Let the battery drain till the phone turns itself off, then charge it (while off) till full.

Definitely calibration problems here. The screenshot below explains what happened with my SGS2. This was the first charge out of the box. Plugged it in and at first, the charge went up steadily. Then, BOOM, 100%. Disconnected charger, and after some time noticed phone was off - battery was at 0% in under 2 minutes.
It's OK now. I'm getting 2+ days of use on a single charge.
same here. my battery-percentage also raised once while using the unplugged phone. then I turned it off and charged it. since then everything is fine.
Too bad.I thought I was like the guy from Infamous or something!
Thanks for your replies guys. Will callibrate and report.Although the Android OS drainage persists still...

[Q] epic just went haywire - suggestions?

Been running Clean GB BML rom (latest version) since it came out and haven't had any problems. Battery has been decent (not grand but not bad), and its been pretty snappy.
All of a sudden this morning i take my phone off the charger, as I do every day, and the battery meter is basically just counting down and draining. The phone lasts about 2 hours and its practically dead. I charge it up at work and again the battery is draining like crazy. I popped the battery out and cleared battery stats, no luck at all. Battery is smoking hot too.
So in an effort to hold on to juice, i fire up juice defender. This of course helps some, but still draining. And then it starts getting VERY laggy. A text comes in and the screen won't rotate for 10 seconds after popping out the keyboard and things like that.
I haven't installed any new apps in the last few days. I really haven't done anything unusual or different than I normally do.
Any ideas what might be wrong? Battery gone bad over night? Phone is actually dying?
I'd rather not have to flash a new rom, but of course if i have to i will.
help! lol
You might want to try odining to stock, rerooting, and reflashing cleangb.

I had this issue, except for me, it started to last 6 hours, then in December lasted for 2 hours, and before new years it lasted 30 mins. I went ahead and ordered an Epic Touch 4G battery and it's back to the norm of 12- 1 day battery. Do try Marcusant's advice, but if you ask ME, as surprising as it may be, batteries don't last forever and it sounds a lot like what was wrong with mine. They're made to last about a year or two. Buying a new battery won't hurt, and if its fixed with Marcusant's advice, having a spare will only help for when it does eventually die.

Well ready for a crazy unexplained answer. The phone seems to be working just fine today. Really really strange yesterday. I'm still going to get that new battery since I get a free one from BB anyways.
My crappy chinese battery that I bought on ebay a year ago is dieing on me, the phone just shuts off randomly. I don't mean shuts down from low battery, I mean literally the screen goes black and it won't turn back on until I pop in my other battery. Kind of annoying, especially when it says I have like ~60% left

That use to happen to me on my bad oem after I kept trying to turn it on past the 30 mins. Also another good indicator of a battery not holding charge is if you notice its got juice, and when it "dies" on you, it claims to have none, then it magically charges in about 15 mins.

Be careful with that. They sent me these crap 1200 maH batteries. I went through 3 of them before 1 would work. I got fed up and called them and they said if I bought an OEM battery somewhere I can fax them the receipt and they will reimburse me. And they did. Got a genuine OEM from Ebay for $12.

Looking for advice regarding my battery life after 4.2.2.

Hey I've searched for help on the subject all over and. I'm not seeing anyone with this problem, on the contrary everyone seems to be doing better.
Anyway I got the OTA update to 4.2.2 from the. General forum a few days ago and flashed it without much consequence and everything seemed fine. I reaquired my root but I have noticed my battery is losing charge way too fast doing light browsing and use.
Checking battery use I got 2 hours of screen time with 30% of the battery and again this has been simply browsing sites with pure text. As I'm writing this it went from 70% to 68%
To list a few key things that have happened that might be important and I'm hoping anybody can help or give advice.
1) I stupidly forgot to wipe cache and dalvik before and after flashing the update, when I remembered I went to recovery and did this
2) I rerooted
3) On Friday I fell asleep using it and when I woke up it was completely drained, honestly I don't even remembered what I was doing cause I had a bit too much wine but I think I was playing an emulator and when I woke up it wouldn't even turn on so I charged it back to 100%
As I write this now I think back and problem seems to have started then.
I tried re flashing a backup, which didn't help and I flashed franco kernel reading it gave good battery.
My last idea is simply reverting back to stock and see if it helps but before that I wanted to check some opinions or advice here.
PS I have already used BBS and its finding nothing wrong in wakelocks or use (except something called AudioOut2)
As I finish this im down to 66%, definitely not normal.
Any help is appreciated.

Didn't even make it to work and was below 50%. Weird.
Sent from my Nexus 7 using xda app-developers app
Did you at some point let it drain completely to 0% after updating to 4.2.2?
If nobody has any idea ill just go back to stock and report results.
Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk HD
Well if anybody has a similar issue or cares, going back to stock seems to have fixed the issue. Regardless I did some light testing on the battery. It shows marginal better perfomance on 4.2.2
By switching Kernel there was no change it seems but then again the test only covered two activities perhaps with further comparissons better results would be gotten.
But long story short if anybody has this problem apparently going back to stock is the way to go.
I'll keep a careful eye on the battery and gauge on regular use and if it happens again have a better idea of what caused it.
Its a program that's running or not completely shutting down.
Torrent was my issue. Uninstalled rebooted and then reinstalled.

Well I have encountered a completely new problem lately.
In the last week this has happened 3-4 times. I leave it charging or simply on deep sleep for a while and when I try to turn it on it won't, I'm not sure if its shutting down since when I plugged it in (thinking battery had drained) not battery charging animation came up, instead I left the power button pressed and it came up with whatever charge it had.
Not sure if its a side effect of the original problem of the battery discharge or something to do with torrent clients as 3 of the total times it has happened I was downloading something and left it running.
Not sure what to do at this point since I find no info on this or it happening to anybody else. What I find are things like it not charging etc which really arent my issues.
I will avoid using torrents on it for a few days and see if it happens again, if it does I will seriously have to consider contacting Google or Asus since this device doesn't even have 90 days in my possession yet.
If anyone is following this (really just posting here to help anybody who finds the same problem and as a sort of journal) I found this post on the kernel im running thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=38422891&postcount=4603
Somebody replied to that post stating its a 4.2.x problem
It could also be a kernel problem with torrents as further down the posts another person complains about the same happening when using a bittorrent client
I'll post with whatever I find out.
I've been having the same problem glad to see it isn't just me.

Hi Chaps, Since my upgrade to 4.2.2 I thought the battery life was great. It stayed at 100% for ages and when I was streaming music for a few of hours and the battery only went to 96%. Superb I thought..
But, yes there is a but. My N7 now shuts down when the battery is at 32% and I need to charge it to get it to reboot as it is well drained. Is it possible to zero the battery indicator or recalibrate it for an accurate reading? TATA R.

Battery calibration, which should be done rarely, is merely a matter of putting your device through one complete charge/discharge cycle. Don't waste your time with battery calibration apps, as they are 100% snake oil. Likewise, you can disregard any misinformation about wiping battery stats, as that has absolutely no bearing on battery charge indication.
Try unplugging your battery for a few minutes, and then plug it back in, ensuring that the connector is firmly seated.
Getting pissed off here. N7 shuts down at 42% now. WTF. Is this a 4.2.2 problem? If so how do I revert back to an earlier version?

I am seeing reduced battery life on 4.2.2...
I used to be able to go all day on a charge. Now I can't make it through the evening ...
I know that is subjective as I didn't indicate my prior usage compared to my current usage pattern.
But my perception is that battery life has degraded ...
As an aside, I noticed that an el-cheapo IKEA power strip didn't provide enough juice to keep the battery from draining further while using it when plugged in...
It plugged in at 20% and kept using the N7... awhile later I was in the mid-teens.
I don't use that power strip any longer....
