My name is Rick Osborne (rickosborne.org) and I am a Course Director at Full Sail University (fullsail.edu) in Orlando, FL. I teach courses in the Web Design & Development BS program, but am also involved in research into mobile development.
We're looking to bring some mobile development professionals in the Central Florida area to our campus and chat about directions in the industry, technologies, what our students should be learning, etc. If you or your company would be interested in having such a conversation with us, I'm interested in hearing from you. You don't have to be from a mobile development shop - we're also interested in talking to solo mobile professionals.
Our university's motto is "Real World Education", in no small part because we work hard to integrate with professionals to make sure our curriculum stays not just relevant to industry but also cutting edge so our students graduate knowing what will be relevant tomorrow.
My email address at work is rosborne at fullsail dot com. Thanks in advance for your time.

Hi All,
I know this doesn't exactly fit into this forum but I wanted to say this forum is a wealth of knowledge for people like myself who are explorering what their Windows mobile devices can really do. I've been a lurker for years but wanted to let you all know about a special event I'm running at the start of April (4th-5th).
Its called "Over the Air" and has a tag line of 48 hours of mobile development. So basically its a chance to spend a weekend learning, experimenting and hacking around with mobile and wireless devices.
I'm already expecting lots of iphone, linux, java, symbian and even adrioid hackers to turn up but whats missing is the XDA/WM community. Hence it would be great if any of you can make it and show off some of the simply stunning things your doing with HTC hardware.
The event is completely free and will take place at Imperial College in Central London, UK. We have discount hotel places for those who are coming from far and already BBC mobile, BBC Backstage, Momo Monday and Vodafone are onboard. We talking to many different companies about running sessions and sponsorship of free data simcards for the 2 days.
So I hope to see some of you there...
If you need any more information or would like to sponsor the event please contact me off list
I was contacted by a recruiter through my LinkedIn profile and have no affiliation and gain nothing from posting this. My hope is that good Android developers are placed in good positions that help grow the platform.
Please see the description below if you are interested.

Sorry about this, won't happen again. I figured looking for some great talent on xda devoted to developers would be a good place.
P.s. I was not trying to advertise or generate money.

Hello to all developers and forumers of XDA, I need your technical experience.
I'm a college student and together with my team we were tasked to develop a mobile application and a prototype product. However our college course is not really for computer development like (Computer Engineering, IT and ComSci). We don't have technical experience to create mobile application.
Our task is to create a Student Monitoring where students will input their rfid and fingerprint before joining the class. The application will hold the records of the student. My question is what are the steps for us to follow in order to develop a functional mobile application?.
We already watch youtube videos and google search like we know the terms of Arduino Studio, mySQL, Kotlin, AMazon Web Services. But we need your opinions because you may have already knowledge about this.
Thank you very much
Hi @MrHotMan,
if your college is not really for computer development then I wouldn't dive deep into programming.
I would try to produce an outcome without coding using no code tools. There are many on the market that also have a free plan. Google for no code app development.
A designer I have worked with recommended me framer. He produced remarkable outcomes with that tool.
Best regards
