Done, but what your strategy for notifying HTC of this?
Perhaps once we have over 50 signatures, we can all send HTC an email with a link to the petition?

meh isnt froyo confirmed for the legend?
just be patient <.<

Froyo is coming in Q3 for HTC Legend
http://www.androidworld.nl/32548/htc-desire-legend-en-wildfire-krijgen-froyo-in-begin-q3/
It's in dutch, sorry but that's the article i read about it.
The headline states that the HTC Desire, Legend and Wildfire get Froyo at the beggining of Q3

Confirmed? They told were working on updating legend, desire and wildfire on Q3, only desire received froyo and I heard nothing more about legend except the twitter from htc singapore that told it will not be possible to port froyo. I made the petition only to have enough signs to let htc know when/if needed, I agree that at present we have to wait and see what happens

I believe the froyo update is comming to the legend just be patient.
I signed it anyway just to let them know we want it.

Just be patient people,it will come soon enough
I signed it also by the way

Be patient HTC are not going to upgrade all Phone models at the same time incase of any unforseen technical problems.
They did the desire last weekend, which they class as there flagship device, I am hoping the legend gets the update this weekend or next

Desire indeed had the update:
http://htcpedia.com/news/985.html
Now it's only a matter of time..

The Desire has very similar specs to the nexus, maybe the Legend version is still in development and they're encountering technical issues, who knows? They told nothing about us after the update on the desire and we risk to have to wait as much as the Hero owners had to do to before having eclair...
Sent from my HTC Legend using Tapatalk

signed. for fun i posted the link on HTC Legend's facebookpage, before i posted it there was 36 signs, let's see how many there is in 24 hours

I wont sign it. Becouse froyo for legend is already confirmed. HTC desire got it first Becouse its the flagship of HTC. HTC legend will be next. Mark moons the country manager of the benelux (netherlands Belgium and Luxembourg) posted a message on Twitter that froyo for desire was out and that he had to wait a little bit more Becouse he is using an legend.
So we also need to wait a little bit more.
Be patient well get it before Christmas.
And I think well get it in a month.

Before Christmas ? In a month ? Either you celebrate Christmas in September or you are patient enough to give HTC a window of almost 5 months ?????

probably he means that we will get it the latest before Christmas but maybe if we are lucky we could get it faster, in a month.

HTC said that they wanted.to have released froyo for the desire legend and wildfire before Christmas.
And I think we will see or hear something about froyo for the legend within a month time.
Sent from my HTC Legend using XDA App

Why I think well get to hear or see froyo within a month is still a guess. But when mark moons says he has to wait a little bit more. Then it won't be months of waiting.
Froyo with sense is already fitted for desire so it won't be months of work to fit it for the legend. The legend is the next best phone after the desire so ill think legend will get it before the wildfire.
Sent from my HTC Legend using XDA App

I guess that Mark Moons can easily afford the purchase of a desire or maybe he can have it for free, frankly I really doubt that a country manager of htc has ONLY a Legend and is waiting for froyo, perhaps he wait for it by using another terminal that already got the update
Sent from my HTC Legend using Tapatalk

I think he can afford one. But does he want one for daily use. The legend is a much better business phone then the desire. And why would a HTC country manager use an unstable build on a daily phone if there is one.
I think his daily phone is a bit to important to use as a test phone. It's still a guess well see
Sent from my HTC Legend using XDA App

@kleutscher: why is the Legend a better business phone than the Desire?

So i E-mailed HTC yesterday again..they said the same thing..'we can not give information rather the HTC Legend will be upgraded to 2.2'
I don't know what that is suppose to mean..but ah

HTC Wildfire and Froyo SO

Good afternoon everyone. Does the HTC Wildfire will be as desired Froyo? It would be fantastic...
So, nobody knows if the Froyo (Android 2.2) will equip the Wildfire?
As every review says, it won't. It will be 2.1 Android. And I heard some saying Froyo requires ARMv7 processor architecture and Wildfire has ARMv6. So...
And why do ya need this Froyo? So nifty features of Android 2.2?
Root it and create a custom rom with froyo (it's not realy tht simple but owell..)
with custom toms on the hero it can run froyo ad the wildfire is slightly faster than hero soo it should be able to run
Maybe...
I read about that possibility here:
The HTC Desire will be among the first batch of HTC phones to get an Android Froyo update. The Taiwanese handset slinger has confirmed that it and US phones like the HTC Droid Incredible and HTC Evo 4G are in line for the icy upgrade. But others like the HTC Legend don’t get a name check…
In an official statement HTC says: “If your phone was launched this year, we will most likely offer an upgrade for it to the Froyo version.” The statement then names the HTC Desire as among the initial chosen ones.
Other Android-packing HTC smarties like the HTC Legend and HTC Wildfire could still be in luck. The statement continues: “We will announce a full list of phones and dates once we are closer to launching the upgrades.”
The statement foes on to note that HTC is working with Google and other partners to make sure that the HTC Sense UI plays nice with Android Froyo.
The long-delayed HTC Hero Android upgrade is apparently down to the difficulties of integrating Sense so we’ve got our fingers crossed that mixing it up with Froyo is a little easier.
HTC says its hopeful that all the Android 2.2 upgrades will be completed in the second half of this year. Let us know what phone and version of Android you’re currently toting.

Will get my Wildfire coming Monday 13th......curious if it has the upgrade already...

Cant wait for CM6 or ota 2.2

Are you are as fed up as me and countless other HTC Wildfire owners, waiting for the Froyo 2.2 update that is always coming but never gets here? I have a campaign running on my blog to demand a solid answer from HTC. As it stands HTC won't confirm or deny anything concerning this topic. Fair enough, they might be delayed and that would be forgiveable if they could at least be up front and reassure us that we will be getting the update, just a couple of months late. Please vote on my poll or add a comment. I am particularly interested in any responses you may have had from HTC in regards to this. Help to lobby HTC.
You can find the poll at: 'HTC Wildfire Android Heaven' (I am not allowed to post the url at the moment)
I wish they would hurry the **** with it tbh...

Desire hd official 2.3 up date

Any news on 2.3 coming from HTC? Any leaks etc. Google is only bringing up news from 2 months ago.
Phones on voda UK any news or release times would be great. Thanks very much

Sadly there is no news.
HTC have not released a statement saying if they will release Gingerbread for the DHD.
Obviously, with the DHD being their flagship handset, in Europe at least, an update should be due. Probably 2 months away though, HTC have to pollute it with Sense, carriers have to bloat & brand it. The Nexus One has yet to receive it, and there is no carrier branding.
If you really can't wait that long, install CM7.
Thanks for the info mate.
Well that's what I was thinking , being a flagship handset you would think they would try and get it out to compete fully with nexus s.
I am thinking about it however last time I rooted the h boot failed , ain't tried since.
Would like to keep to HTC as this is the second one iv had but the amount of problems iv had with this phone combined with slow up date times make it hard to not move to a I5 in the summer when its released.

. If you is not a problem, would I could tell what is new in the use made CM7. It may sound stupid but one thing is what it says and the other is how it behaves in the use of ROM.
I am interested in particular video, how much fps is in full use?
Sorry I really don't know what you mean. Could you try to explain?
Someone really needs to Sticky a thread like this to stop everyone asking this

HTC Desire to get Android 2.3. How about Legend?

Found this in Phandroid.... http://phandroid.com/2011/02/17/coming-this-spring-android-2-3-for-the-htc-desire/
No announcement for Legend though.
w00t! Desire gets Gingerbread! Can't wait for it to come out!
dont ...
don't hold your breath for the improvements it's not really worth it especially for htc
download the 2.3 keyboard and you got 1/3 of the update
as 2.3 is mainly NFC support(dosnt apply) new keyboard(i person like htc's better cuz of the content text prediction) and improved copy and past

I don't understand HTC... First what does that mean to use the same name of their concurrents for their new phones ??? Desire "S" ? wildfire "S" ?
serioulsy, are they thinking that people will buy their phone cause they thing of the SGS or the NS ?
Second, a new desire, a new wildfire, and no new Legend ? WTF ? It's the best design they got among their phones, and they still do some crappy plastic phone (ok it's a bit strong, not crappy).
A new Legend, more slim, maybe a bit bigger screen, new proc but still in one piece of aluminium and here we go, they would have sell that more than they will sell the wildfire "S" !
Anyway, the gingerbread roms will be available soon for Legend. There is CM7 RC, and when the wildfire S come out, some SENSE ROM will for sure be released...
Thanks to the the great developers we have the chance to have in the community !! Thx you all.
i think that Legend update will be announced... for me it about 85%
maybe after this spring
You remember how long it took HTC to announce an update to FroYo (It was about half a year after Google announced 2.2)
So if HTC will update the Legend to 2.3 it will probably be summer before they release it.
heard that a lot of devs don't think 2.3 is worth the R&D, so are waiting for 2.4.
The desire out sold the legend 10 fold on release this forum is bearly alive compared to the desire's. The wildfire sold like hot cakes because of the price so unless they priced the legend at £250-£275 it would fail just like this 1 did.
Don't get me wrong I would like to see a legend s but look at it from a marketing point of view an you will see why it makes no sense at all.
Sent from my HTC Legend using XDA App
I think that 2.3.2 is a big possibility for Legend, why you ask?
Well it is simple. Wildfire S is almost a clone of legend (600mhz, 3.2" and 480x320 screen) so the software will probably be easy to port over to Legend.
now the problem is operators. Do they rather want us to buy a new handset or upgrade.
yup... Agreed, the Legend forum is barely alive. There is only 2 almost perfected rom that is available. Unlike the desire forum, there's lots of goodies there =(
IMHO, update the htc legend to 2.3 (2.4 too) will not be.
Sorry for my english, please.
If we get 2.3 it will be down to the great devs here on xda not HTC. 2.3 was out before HTC released froyo for the legend so not much chance of them bothering.
Sent from my HTC Legend using XDA App
Why make these claims? They could very well turn round and give us a special release of 2.3 with the new Sense for the special 'few' who got the Legend, ya just never know!
My view is simple: Wait and see, and not make claims about us not getting 2.3. How many of you would still use 2.3 and HTC Sense? Most of us here are running custom ROM's anyway which don't use Sense....
Just saying...

Not for Voda Legends
For those who're desperate to try out 2.3 and have rooted their Legends and are also capable of flashing a ROM, you can of course try out the CyanogenMod 7 nightlies. They're based on 2.3 unless I'm grossly misinformed.
When CM7 is finished, I may well give it a try, provided it's not a giant clusterbuck of a mess compared to blay0's ROMs...
I just want the new notification drop down down menu and the re arrangeable home screens from the new sense ..

I'm running CM7 full 3 (oh, full 4's out) with the radio upgrade from the dev forums, and it's pure awsome. gingerbread googness. battery life and speed are off the charts.
blayo's rom is very good, but i gotta say CM7's... gingerbread.
you'll loose flash lite, but the novelty wore off quickly for me.
lets be honest, it's pants.

This is the first time I've read about the G2 getting it as well. If it's true, then it's great news that we aren't being neglected.
Yeah i thought that at first matey
but those are HTC's exact words so it must be official
i cant wait... i do like custom roms but having an update that will be stock gingerbread to work off will be great. if the devs can get it rooted and s-off and maybe remove some of the rubbish we dont need then we will have a clean, rooted reliable stock rom which will be great... although as its stock it may need a few bug fixes but generally it should be pretty stable
You know, I just emailed HTC about the G2 the other day and the guy basically replied that they give updates based in carrier request, and they had not yet received an update request from t-mobile for the g2 as of this weekend.
So either my guy had no idea what her was talking about, or your guy is lying.

really mate?
oh right well i hope it is coming to Desire Z and G2
that list is exactly what i have in my email.
i might question HTC support about the matter, just to see what they have to say, with they had a page which they posted future rom updates, it would make it a lot more easier and exciting lol

HTC Official ICS Update List, No Desire Z

http://blog.htc.com/2012/03/ics/
I woke up in the morning with this news. I have to say that I was very disappointed. Even though I anticipated that HTC won't release an official ICS update for the Desire Z, this news still took a toll on me :-(
now all we can hope for is a better port from the devs (there're already good ICS ROMs for the Desire Z, the Icecream JIBwich ROM I am using is already much better than stock GB, but I do want to have a better camera driver)
well, for anyone who still hopes, at the very least, HTC haven't said that they won't upgrade the Desire Z, and there's still this petition

Most of my friend with different HTC models get the update. I have the desire z and i got nothing up to now, except 2.3.3 last year.
Remember, HTC has never said that they've finalized the list of devices to be upgraded. We still might get it, we may not. Besides, enough phones will be upgraded to give us a 100% working ICS rom anyway from CyanogenMod and others.
