Do you have the SD card in the phone, and are the movies in the "Transformers" folder on it? That's how it should be from stock, but I don't know if you are the original owner of the phone, etc

I am the original owner and the movies are in that folder. Thanks though.

Hey Reynaldo...that is my dads name cool!
When you are trying to click on the movies you don't have your computer connected to a computer with the data cable because depending on what option you select it unmounts the SD card making everything on there inaccessible so it is like it is not there...also...you didn't format your card did you. go to file explored and looks on the sd card and look for the folder that says transformers...if there is no folder then there are no movies. the quicklink might still be there but not the movies.

hook it up via usb to your laptop, pull down the notification bar, hit the usb notification, press mount... after that it should show up as a removable drive in your "my computer" folder... typically windows also uses the autoplay feature so that you can choose what you want to do with the mounted sd card

just drag and drop.how do the files get to the right places.my sd card has partitioned to run a Hero Rom
the phone automatically searches for both music and pictures in your sd card.. you can drag and drop and store them wherever you want... if you're OCD like me, put pictures in the DCIM folder which is where pictures are stored after you take them with the camera or camcorder application... music can pretty much go anywhere

Connect nexus one to Ps3?

I read somewhere about a guy who put shows on his nexus one and then put it on the ps3. Is it possible? I put a movie in my sdcard and when I connect it too the ps3 it gives me only one file "digital camera movies" which has nothing in it. Please help?
Have you tried mounting the SD card when you plug it in?
thats what I do and the only folder that shows up in the ps3 is "Digital Camera Movies" which isnt even on my SDcard.
DLNA?
install twonky media from the market and your PS3 will "find" your N1 on the network, then you can browse and play music/pictures/media.
I thought the PS3 only recognizes certain folders, or you have to click Triangle then show all or something

Dude, spend the ten dollars and buy a 2 GB flash drive. Why would you want to put the stress of streaming a movie from your phone and the SD Card in your phone?
I did not try it with a video file, but the PS3 does recognize and mount the sdcard in the N1.
So, I am pretty sure if you have a move file that is recognized by the PS3 on your phone then you can copy it to the playstation or play it from the sdcard.
The steps to do this are.
plug the phone into the Ps3
mount the sd card through your phone UI
go to the movies menu on the ps3 select the one that says nexus one
press triangle
select display all
navigate to your movie
Simple. I do it all the time with my cruzer flash drive.
oh ok. it worked lol. i kept clicking in the folder and it says more info when you click triangle but when you click under nexus is says view all
Media server app let's you wirelessly play music and vids from phone onto ps3

File location for Avatar

I expanded my SD and moved Avatar from the 2GB card onto a 16GB, however i am not sure where i need to place the file so it links up with the avatar icon on the device. Any help would be great!
avatar.dcf goes into a directory called Movie on the SD card
The icon wont work but you can put it anywhere and run it from the movie player.
I downloaded the system dump and tried to install the avatar.apk but it didn't work. Is it even possible for me to install it?

why would you want to its just a shortcut that launches the movie. not the movie itself
Not trying to be a douche but this isnt android development.
Were you able to successfully move the file. I've heard it can't be moved, if it can be moved that would be awesome so I can put my 16GB card in my phone.

I was able to move it to my dad's 8gb card. I put it in the supplied card reader and put it in my computers card reader. Then i attached the phone to the computer with the supplied cable with the 8gb card IN THE PHONE. Next i just did a simple cut and paste with the movie folder on the T-Mobile 2gb memory card.
ETA- It works with the icon too.

ok wen u copied ur 2gb to 8gb u just moved the files, this is wat u need to do so it can work, will work on any size card.
the avatar movie file is a dcf. it loads using DRM protocol on the vibrant. it can't be distributed to another system. unless you can get around the rights usage on it. which i can't. lol
the 3gp file is just a 3 minute trailer the actual movie file is a dcf file and is 1.4gb, the "avatar" icon in the apps menu is an actual app the plays the dcf file for the movie. right now im trying to copy both the dcf and the 3gp file to my sd card from my friends new vibrant then i adb pull /system/avatar/ /android for the apk file to install on to my nexus one. we'll see if the apk will install.

The trailer file is a 3gp but the actually move is a dcf
Adb pull /system/apps/avatar and pushing it to any other phone doesn't work. I think it looks for a signature of the phone model and if it doesn't match up it wont install. Maybe some editing of the files will help make it work. Also with some research of the 1.4gb file dcf file is actually encrypted so either the vibrant or the app has the key. I will look into this further when I get a chance to mess with my buddy's vibrant again. The dcf file has a better resolution than one I can make with my copy of the DVD into a 3gp which is my reason for doing this.

Transfering music from computer problem

I recently had just bought a 32gb Sandisk micro SD card for my HTC Evo. When I hook my phone up to computer, change it to a disk drive and go to transfer music it say it goes on my phone. But when I go to play the songs, they just skip 1 after another after another. And non of them work. I dont know if I need to make a special folder or something on my phone. But then when I load up Astro to look through my files it shows it on my sd card, but that its not actually there. If that makes any sense.. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance..
That's strange. I just bought the Wintec 32GB Class 10 and it works fine. I did notice, though, after I load up a bunch of music, that it takes Android a long time to catalog it all. It sits there, screen flashing, popping up the "Updating Media Files" notification for a long time. The songs don't show up in my music player until this process is complete. Does your phone do that as well?
Are the song from itunes? Do they have DRM?
Did you try formatting the SD card?

what music player are you using? I suggest DoubleTwist.
im just using the default media player that came with it. And not from itunes. Im just linking my computer to it, and dragging and dropping into my sd card. normally ill make a folder and name it music. dunno if i need to do anything maybe to the folder?
Try searching for SD card spreed fix.....I had the same problem
HTC EVO
I use poweramp and I usually have to go into the settings and tell it to "rescan folders" and sometimes you can select what folders it looks in. Check for similar settings in your player.
You have been EVOfied.
Have you looked at how large the files are on the SD Card? Making sure they actually contain data (the music)?
Can you play the files from the SD Card when you have the phone mounted to the computer?

Well when the phone is mounted, it cant read anything off the card.. Theres something going wrong from it being on my computer to when it transfers to the SD card and then is un mounted. I just dont know what that is..
Create a folder on the sd card named music and drop them all in there. Then make sure in settings the sd card is mounted. home screen/settings/sd card and storage. I think it causes issues when you just drop them on the root of the sd card. Some don't have a problem but others do.
Do you have a SD card reader you could use to check out the contents of the card not through the phone?
Agree with the post to make a music folder, that's how mine is.

Where do I put music & video files?

Sorry but a really noob question ..........
Where do I put music and video's so that the default app's find them?
I thought the SD card was 'external_SD' so that's where I put the music folders. But then, when I try to navigate to that on the phone, there's nothing in there. And also, when I open the music app' it doesn't show anything that I've added!!
So can you tell me where you put audio and video files please.
Sorry, I really show know this but it's not something I've done on any of my phones before!
Thanks in advance for you help.
SDCard : Internal Storage ,the 16Gb build in
External SD : The micro SD (T-Flash) you insert into phone
And inside Windows Explorer ,it should be two drives ,say ,Drive E and Drive F ,one is internal ,one is external
Hope this help
I think memory your looking at is the built in memory. I put some video files in the folder marked media and it found them ok. If you want to find the external memory you need to go to settings, wireless and network then usb utilities to connect tovpc. Thenn i just put all my music on there. Again it found them ok.

Right, I've done the music files. I've dumped them in the 'Music' folder in the above screenshot and it appears to have found them. The only annoying thing is that it's sorted each song alphabetically and not by track number!
Now I just need to work out where to put videos.
I also still can't see, from my screenshot of the folder structure above, where my SD card is. If it is that 'external_SD' then why aren't files showing when I explore it on the phone?
And does the Note not play .mov files? I've transferred some across but when trying to open them it states, "No applications can perform this action".
