In other brand phone, like HTC, there is a link /sys/class/leds/lcd-backlight/brightness which stores the brightness value of the screen. But in Vibrant or other Samsung's android phone, the link is not set.
Does anybody know where is the file located?
Have you found your solution? I also want to customize my brightness file to lower the brightness

Hello,
I just switched to a Touch - I really like my phone so much but I really really miss the flashlight apps I used on my last couple of phones. The touch doesn't have flash in it so I have a default word document with no text so it is all white but my screen brightness is normally set for 50% - I was wondering if there was a way to have it increase the brightness for this particular document or some other way to make the brightness go to full, and the screen go to white in one touch?
Thanks
how can i change a display depth settings, contrast, brightness of htc touch elf0100. is there possible to change display settings . pls i need a help :-(
Screen brightness is in settings, contract, no, display depth, no.
Read your manual if you are on sure on how to change this, if you do not have one you can get it from the HTC website.
On my note the minimum brightness on the slider is 40. Is there a file I can edit or something I can modify in the framework-res.apk for my slider to go from 0-255 brightness. I was able to go into sys/class/panel/backlight and edit the backlight to 0 but I want to be able to keep this value with the slider. I know rootdim worked but I don't want to open up an app or widget to adjust this if possible.
Build.prop has some stuff. Also framework-res/res/arrays.xml does too. Try those.
I just downgraded to a galaxy s5 from an essential. I am looking all over for a display size setting but not finding it. It's usually located in display in the same area font size is located. I usually like to set my font size to tiny and display size to smallest available. Even my old s4 had display size setting. Am I just not seeing it or is it really not there?
Hi there,
I'm on AEX ROM and I use AOD, but I find it too bright. Is there a solution to lower the brightness of the AOD ? There's no option in the ROM but maybe there's something which can be done by playing with some .xml files ?
Thanks !
