[Q] 32A Radio instsall crash - bricked? - myTouch 3G, Magic General

I did a radio and spl update in the wrong order (spl first and then radio). Now i'm stuck with a radio install screen that ends up in fadeout display and vertical white stripes every time i boot up my phone. Just like this video except the arrow points to a android instead of a phone:
I can't go to hboot (back + power)
I can't go to recovery (home + power)
I can get the blue led (trackball + power)
Is there anything i can do to fix this?
Phone info:
32A (htc branded)
radio:
old: RADIO-3.22.20.17
new: Radio_HTC_PVT_32A_6.35.10.18 (as a zip on sd)
spl (hboot):
old: HBOOT-1.33.2010 (SAPP10000)
new: hboot-1.76.2007 (SAPP10000)
recovery:
old: RA-magic-v1.2.3H
new: recovery-RA-sapphire-v1.7.0H
Please ask if you need more information. Though i'm still a bit of a newbie (otherwise i would not have "bricked" my phone)

That's a recovery screen. You should have flashed the Hero recovery, not the Sapphire/Magic one, since that's what the new radio requires.
Hold down Volume and press power. Does you phone go into fastboot? If so, flash the latest Hero recovery or the modded Sapphire/ new radio one from http://www.theandroidkitchen.com/fileshare/Sapphire-32A-Updates/

No, i have tried VolUp, VolDown and both. Still goes to the "install" screen and crashes.

If you can't get into fastboot (volume down+power), recovery (home+power), or get the phone to boot normally, I think you've pretty much bricked your phone. If it's under warranty, try to take it back. If not and you've got insurance, tell them the phone is in the bottom of a lake, if you don't have both, well that just sucks.

I have read about "Gold card" but i'm no sure how it works, it is not something that will do anything in my situation?

Not really, sorry. You need to be able to get into fastboot in order to use a goldcard.

Hm, thats so sad. My older brother was about to inherit the phone. Well - no android for him this time... Sorry my man.
Thanks for the clarification on this matter

What's wrong with the new radio?

What's wrong?
I mean I've tried to flash it 4 times. It failed all of these. When I flash it, it gets stuck on "writing radio...", the screen gets black and nothing happens. Then whatever radio I want to flash, it will do the same. The only solution is to use an RUU, which will fail the same way, but then you reboot the phone and continue.
What's up with this? Any idea?
Please provide SPL info (Turn the phone off, turn on by pressing Back + Power)
If you have 1.76.2007 ENG S-OFF - you can flash new radio
If you have other info - anybody will write you right instruction)

It *was* S-OFF, but 1.76.2010 I think. Now I reflashed the RUU, I'll try with this.
wrong section! moving to general.
Ok, I now believe I've bricked it. I downloaded an update for the radio from http://www.theandroidkitchen.com/fileshare/Sapphire-32A-Updates (a zip), flashed it from recovery and bam. Now the phone reboots and shows an HTC screen (with its logo). Then it becomes black and that's it. It can't boot from fastboot, hboot, recovery, nothing. Even the RUU can't do something.
Holy crap, HELP!

[Q] HTC Broked

First I must apologize for my bad english, I have an HTC MAgic 32A and decide install cyanogem ROM.
Before to proced I make the root using Universal Androot, as said in: h..p://limitlessdroid.com/2010/08/27/how-to-root-droid-from-2-2/
After i install ROM Manager and make “Flash Clockwork Recovery”.
Until this moment everthink work as well.
Then I select “Reboot into Recovery.”, my phone reboot and I press and hold HOME + BACK.
After that the phone restart and show Operator Logo, after 4 seconds he restart again and show operator logo, ...
I Remove the batery, press and hold HOME + BACK and touch POWER, and nothing works, just show operator logo and restart...
I don´t know what I can do!!!! Someone knows what i can do?
It sounds like you have the wrong split. Press and hold the back and power keys and see which radio and split you have.

BACK and POWER keys does work but, i had already copied the data.
PVT 32A

My phone make the same thing them that video:

Your radio and hboot are for a 32b phone. You said you have a 32a phone. You will need to flash using the home and power keys to recovery with the 1.33.2010 Eng spl. Once your done with that you will need to flash the tmobile stock radio and rom. From there follow the forum for 32a Tom's. If you want cyanogen use the 6.0 in thus forum. But if you cant flash or boot to recovery your phone is bricked my friend. As far as I know there is not a way to debrick what has been done. Sorry man

I will send for assistance. I tell what is the result after that! Thanks for alll! If the assistance can't unbrick the phone always have the JTAG Cable.
Apparently it was not my fault, because the service has encountered a problem on mother board.

[Q] mt3g 1.2 stuck at boot screen

Yesterday I went ahead and tried to flash the new 2.22.27.08 radio for my mt3g 1.2. I thought I read some posts saying that it is compatible with the mt3g 1.2. after flashing the radio and rebooting, my phone became stuck at the htc magic boot screen.
I no longer am able to enter recovery (home + power) or hboot (vol down + power)
the only thing I can do is access fastboot commands: when I power on the device, at the top of the boot screen is says "fastboot usb"
fastboot devices shows my device but my spl is perfect spl with s=on so I cant flash any img files. Ive tried flashing all the partitions, even with a zip file but I get the same errors, remote: not allow.
I tried installing with RUU and the command "fastboot oem rebootRUU" but the RUU app cannot find the connected usb device.
a lot of posts suggest to make a goldcard and put the SAPPIMG.zip on sdcard and let it fastboot auto load the file, since vol down + power doesnt work for me i thought this wasnt an option.
here is my phone info:
pvt 32a ship s-on g
hboot 1.33.0013
cpld 13
radio 2.22.27.08
anyone have any suggestions?
I would hate if the phone was unrecoverable but it is an old phone, maybe time to upgrade.

Goldcard method. If you cannot access the bootloader, have no recovery and phone will not start then you just bricked your phone.
Make the goldcard, do a battery pull, put the goldcard in, hold the volume down button, put the battery in and power on the device while holding the volume down button. If it boots to a white screen then your in luck. If not then ask for a new phone for the Holidays.

EDIT: haha ya I bricked my phone just in time for the holidays! Cant complain when getting a new phone I guess. I might pick up a jtag kit and try to unbrick the 1.2, just for fun though

[Q] How to get into fastboot after radio flash?

Hi, unfortunately I will have to ask for help as I can't find a solution myself.
Until today i ran CyanogenMod 6.1 on my Vodafone HTC Magic and wanted to flash GingerYoshi on it.
Therefore I followed this guide to install a new radio and hboot which seemed to be necessary for the GingerYoshi Rom. According to the guide I used the RA-Recovery 1.7 to flash the SuperWipe_v2.zip, rebooted into RA-Recovery again, flashed the radio.zip, rebooted ... into nothing but the vodafone Logo on red background. At the first boot it showed a little box with an arrow pointing to an Android-Robot and then it stuck at the vodafone screen.
I can't get into fastboot (Back + Power) or any other mode (Volume Down + Power) it only boots to the red vodafone screen. The only action I can provoke is a black screen and a blue led when pressing the trackball during power up.
Any ideas what to do now? Did I really screw my telephone?

Yes you did... the reason is simple.
When you flash a radio using the custom recovery, you have to wait like 2 min for it finish. It's normal that it will reboot a couple of times while it's flashing, and it's also normal to see a different picture for a while....
You ( this what I believe) just did not wait long enough for it to finish and tried to push a button or take out the battery...
So, yes, you are bricked!
Thats a shame...but when flashing radio and spl, we have to double our attention.
it happens bro, try pull out the batery and wait till tomorrow, and try again, if it doesnt work, it seem you have briked
Thank you for your answers - even though they aren't very encouraging
But mumilover might be right, although I waited quite some time before I started to panic, I obviously acted to early an interrupted the flashing process.
Does anyone know a German shop which can unbrick the device? Otherwise I will have to buy a new phone. In the meantime I will stick to my good old Siemens S45

Is this HTC Magic bricked?

Hello,
I recently tried to update the spl/radio to use a new rom on my HTC Magic 32A and after updating the spl the phone just hangs on the "HTC Magic" screen. Fastboot or Recovery wont start if I hold the buttons. Was just wondering if it is bricked or if it is possible to fix via cmd or so? I read alittle on jtag but I think if it came down to that Ill just buy a new phone cause this phone is not worth that much trouble.
I rooted the phone a year or so ago. First I had cyanogen but they dropped support so I switched too gingeryoshi but the wifi stopped working. It still connected to tmobile hotspot but I couldnt tether or connect to my wifi. So I thought of putting on Froyodragon. I updated too HBOOT-1.76.2007 but then it just hanged on reboot.
Thanks for any input.
Turn phone off (if you have bootloop then remove battery and place it back after 10-20 sec)
Turn on by pressing Back + Power - it's fastboot-mode
Write first 5 rows of info (all symbols are important)
If you do not have Android Sdk Tools configured - do it
Additionaly search for fastboot.exe - this utility can be absent from sdk tools
Connect phone to pc when it in fastboot-mode
Run
Code:
fastboot getvar cid
fastboot getvar cidnum
fastboot getvar version-main

hello,
I tired back+power, power+vol down, and power+home, they all just sit at the "HTC Magic" screen.
Did you remove battery before try and placed it back? If yes and any combination did not help -> 'brick'. Only JTAG can help.
What ROM did you have before?
And what ROM did you update?
There are no bricked phones when 32A phone updating with 32A official ROM. I don'y understand how you bricked your device.
Even if hboot updated but radio did not - there are some chances to restore...
Tell us how it happened?
same problem
Sir im also facing the same problem like this person is facing:
I guess that I've bricked my HTC magic phone. actually it was working fine but after when i flash Hboot file named (ISO-8859-1__STOCK-HBOOT) on it.

Yes I removed the battery (only way i could turn it off). I stated most of this info in the first post but Ill try and state specifically what versions I had. When I first rooted I used Cyanogen Rom. It worked fine but they dropped support so I switched too Gingeryoshi. I dont remember what version. I tried to update it too 1.5 first but it didnt work but fastboot and recovery still worked so I decided to switch to a new rom instead and tried Froyodragon but it needed radio 6.35.16.19 and HBOOT-1.76.2007. So I wiped it then I did the HBOOT-1.76.2007 and after installing and rebooting is when it stopped working.
Crap, I just did this too... got a yellow arrow coming from a box onto an Android. I flashed a mismatched 6.35 radio (I guess?).
Can't boot to fastboot--can only boot to blue light mode (trackball+power) and phone will charge if connected by USB--but is never recognized by ADB or fastboot.

Wait 5-10 minutes, "yellow arrow coming from box" equals unpack and flash. Phone should finish this process.
Try to load into hboot-mode: turn phone off (remove battery and place it back if bootlooping), then turn on by pressing Volumedown + power
In this mode you can flash full official rom in sappimg.zip format (or sappimg.nbh if you have 32b magic)
If phone doesn't load into any mode (except trackball + power) - then you have brick and only jtag can help.

But, it goes to a black screen about ten seconds after that.. sadly I think it needs to be jtagged and i will just give it away for parts.
I also tried the sapphire image trick, no luck.
those all sound like bricks..
problem with 32b - looping after rom.
Believe me, I tried a lot here and on google before posting here.
I tried to install a ROM on my htc magic 32b and certainly was not what I should.

I've read very, very much. I read that I have to change the SHIP for ENG.
Also read about ruu, but I found a will for my device, nor know how to run.
First of all, my phone is only on LOOP. I can normally access the fastboot USB.
But does not accept commands, I believe it because of S-ON.
I do not know how to install an img it to get S-OFF.
Could someone help me get back my life device?
Thank you and with the help of google translator.
huahua!!!!
