Hello All, I have the HTC Messaging Client v1.5.20162424.00, along with Message_Enhancement_1_2_20163924_00_huashan_0.90, and have the following issue, even when switching throughout different client versions... I believe its a registry entry I incorrectly set...
The issue is: Something is preventing me from Saving my MMS, and wont let the menu pop up that lets me to select to save.
Whenever I get an MMS, it comes through crystal clear, however the viewing screen is glitched; it allows me to drag the picture up and down and leaves a pixel trail as seen in the picture below, and where normally I would be able to click the picture and get the pop up menu to Save, Share, etc, it just pulls up the Slideshow Timer...
Does anyone know what may cause this? I have been trying for hours to find the registry entry.........
Image of glitch is attached to this post.

So i have no problems sending/receiving picture messages on my X1. but whenever i receive a picture from a friend, the picture that shows up on my phone is so tiny! (149x120). i looked at my friends phone when he took the picture, and it covers his whole screen. but when he sends it to me, all i see is a tiny picture. is there an option or something to make it so that when i receive picture messages, it shows up on the whole screen?

Go to sms page then menu then mms options there i think there is an option to choose the size at which you recieve it - you can always view them in media panel and zoom too i guess for the ones you already have

the link is down in that thread - try here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=297538&page=5&highlight=tiny+mms
Editing the registry fixes this too. My post in another thread:
I take you are using a generic ROM? My mms was fine when I was on the original O2 ROM, but then when I upgraded and went generic my mms pics were tiny. Turns out that is because operators put in custom mms settings in the registry, otherwise it gets default mms settings that are years old, hence the tiny pictures.
It's quite an easy fix, have a look at post 14 here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...picture&page=2
Small mms no tweaks needed
i don't know why this MMS Options is like HIDDEN and cannot be accessed from the WinMo Settings...
Go to Messaging -> SMS/MMS -> OUTBOX
then Click MENU -> MMS Options...
then select your preferred photo resoulution...
it worked on my Xperia X1

That option is slightly different, and if the OP's problem was the same as mine it won't work. It tends to be for sending pics rather than receiving them in most cases I think.
I'm sure we all want to have the option of looking at our emails in full HTML format by default on our HD2's. Does anyone know how to configure this option. A registry tweak would be nice.
Using the following route for GMAIL you can change your account settings to show 'The Entire Message' and download 'All attachments' by default by still doesn't give the solution we need.
Instructions :-
Go to the Inbox of any account
-> click on the menu key (right soft)
-> on the pop-up menu, select Tools>Options...
-> choose an account to edit
We need an expert on the case! Please.......................
Would it explain why accents don't display ?
Basically, I had an iPhone before and when I received an email, the entire message was downloaded. Pictures & text etc. and you were able to scroll about the entire message without any issues or having to do anything else to gain access to the rest of the email.
On the HD2, I have managed to get the majority of the message downloaded but still not "internet Pictures" are allowed to be downloaded and you have to push another option to scroll right if the email is quite large.
I know that Safari is a different program and not affected by malware and such like but I would like something similar on the HD2.
Are there any tweaks or CABs to fix this???
Thanks
I have been looking for a fix for this since I got my HD2 but it seems that there is no fix.
This is the main thing that is anoying me about this phone (Even more than the sms issue) I cant belive there is not 1 person on here that can hack this and let us download everything by default.
Anyway there is a HUGE donation for anyone who can do this!!

Someone else RAGING about the same things I am!
I think hell just froze over. The 1.6x ROM was pretty good in comparison to the 1.48 ROM. When that is officially been released then texting will be better.
BsB tweaks 1.6 will solve the texting issue till then. It has for me (for the most part).

Yup this annoyed me on the Touch HD also. There must be a registry setting somewhere that will enable the automatic download of pictures for html messages by default. Although this would mean spammers could potentially validate your email if the spam hits your inbox.

Are you serious?
Last year Safari was the second most-vulnerable browser (after FireFox), and most of those vulnerabilities targeted the iPhone version.
i LOVe my HD2, but i noticed a few issues that i think can be resolved.
FIrst, when taking video, all it takes is like 5 seconds, then it takes an actual picture and stops recording. It is on video mode, and it is saving to my memory card...cant seem to find out why...
second, in outlook, most of the time i get an email and i have to click "download rest of message". it gets annoying. how can i make it so it downloads the whole messages WITH pictures automatically?
Thanks all...and BTW, i am using Kumars Classic Rom
Regarding the second issue, on the Mail slider touch Menu > Sync Options > Download size limit > Entire Message. You should also check Include file attachments.
...how to correct these two issues I have.
#1 - When people send me a picture through text, it comes through as a slide show. How do I change that?
#2 - I can't seem to save a picture from MMS to the contact it came from. I get to a certain point and get a "force close" message. I can't even save the picture in a folder.
These problems could be because I'm a former WM user, but I haven't noticed anyone else having these issues.

1. Use Handcent app from the Market instead. That slideshow thing seems to be a common gripe I've seen posted
2. Not sure, but I'm thinking Handcent might fix that too since it will be handling mms also.
What a sweet app!
It worked PERFECTLY!
Thank you so much!
How do you turn off the standard HTC messeging app?
Start htc messaging, menu-settings-uncheck notifications.

Usually, when using non-stock messaging apps such as Handcent, rather than turning off the stock messaging app you would just disable the notifications for it. This is done by going into the stock messaging app, hitting the "menu" softkey while in your general messages list and hitting settings. Once in that menu, you would uncheck the "Received notification" box. Handcent will handle your notifications only from this point on.
Click slideshow, tap the picture and hit pause to look at it. Hit the bottom right button and check the image, hit done and now you have saved the image
Just in case your like me and say handcent is way too iphoneish

can't you also just use savemms to save the picture?
so i just looked all over the net trying to find this but is there really no way to view pictures like a normal human being from the stock message app when their are multiple pictures being received??:silly: instead of it putting it in the stupid slide show making the pictures smaller and not zoomable unless you save them.
I know even if you just receive one message with text then it also goes to the slideshow view. Just try to tell your friend to only send one picture at a time
