Hi
I'm passing my Legend (UK Vodafone) on as a clean phone so have done a hard reset as advised. Now my phone comes up in German and wants to set itself up in German. As I don't speak German I'm having trouble. How do I get English as the default setup language?
Did u do a hard reset or factory reset. Try doing a factory reset if needed. Thks should restore the default language. Here is a link on how to do a factory reset for your device, http://www.htc-phones.org/how-to-reset-htc-legend-factory-default-settings.html
Good luck.

Hi
That's what I did. I have done it 3 times, first using Settings>Privacy>Factory Data reset and then twice with the button method. Each time I get German setup screens and no obvious way of getting English. The first screen asks in German to select the language (Sprache auswahlen) but this has no effect. Once all the German setup is skipped through and the phone powered off and on, it boots up with all the standard UK Vodafone screens implying the Vodafone ROM is there but in German.

Hi Everyone,
I am new to the MDA compact 3 and have a few questions im hoping someone can clear up for me. I used to have a Motorola V3 and could hack that to hell and back but this seems a lot more complicated.
I have a T-mobile UK MDA Compact 3 and im going to use www.imei-check.co.uk to unlock the sim lock and CID. Unless someone knows of software which allows me to do it myself.
When it is unlocked i want to put an O2 sim card in it but then it will be full of T-mobile crap i dont want. Is it as easy as just wipe it and install a fresh copy of windows mobile 5 on it to erase all T-mobile branding and have a HTC factory stock one similar to a home PC re-install.
Has anyone written a tutorial on how to wipe and re-install, I tried searched but couldnt find anything.
Thanks for any help you can give.
If you do not want the Tmobile crap, just hardreset the phone. During installation, soft reset the phone just after the security section (when it ask if you want to set a password). That will get rid most of the Tmobile crap and your phone will be crap free. Although you may still have the 1st Tmobile splash screen crap. As for the O2 crap that you may need, either do a search for the CAB or you can always input it manually (not that difficult) once you got all the necessary info.
Thanks for the reply.
Sorry for this question but how do I do a hard reset?
So if I do a soft reset, which im guessing is just turn it off and back on using the power button, after the security section it will not put any of the T-mobile crap on it. Does that mean that if it needs to go back and I need to restore it to how I got it, I can do another hard reset and just allow it to run right through without doing the soft reset after the security section.
Start -> Settings -> System -> Clear Storage = hardreset

Hello
My SGS is originally from Greece (simfree)
with the default rom it came with, after factory reset the language/locale was set to Greece.
I flashed to rom JM2 from here
http://samsung-firmware.webs.com/samsungi9000.htm
and updated all component (PDA/PHONE/CSC) and also repartitioned the phone.
and still, after every factory reset the locale/language is set to Greece.
of course I can change it manually, but it's a little bit irritating
Can I change it so English will be selected after every flash/factory reset?
why does it select Greece even after I flashed other roms?
TIA
Maybe its your sim card?
No, the sim card is Israeli
what else can it be?
After flashing another rom I noticed that after the flash process
the system installing update.zip although I don't have any file on the internal or external SDCARD...
I tried to search for it with root explorer but without results
where can it be and how do I "solve" this?
TIA
I found something
no matter what rom I flash, I always get this file in /system/csc/cos/csc
it's coming from sort of update I can't find on my phone
this is your productcode ...
I have an HTC HD Mini that was from Saudi Arabia. It was all in English, I performed a factory reset and it came back in Arabic. I have tried to navigate the menu's to change the region code back to English but it only seems to half come back. Most of the menu literals and button captions remain in Arabic.
Can anyone suggest what i can do?
Thanks, Bill
you can flash custom OS

How can i change the language of my hd2 t8585, its in korean language
which ROM?
I think you can do a factory reset from settings and then about phone...at some point, I believe on the 2nd restart you can adjust your language at that point and the phone will restart; forgive me if I'm not correct; I"m running NRGZ28's EnergyROM on mine at the moment so I can run T-Mobile's Wifi Calling app.
Hello, I have this phone with 5.1.1 O.S. with stock firmware "COK2".
I don't know why I have this issue that the phone doesn't keep the password and I need to re-insert passwords when I need to reconnect at network that I had already been connected.
What do you suggest me?
P.s.: please don't tell me to hit the hard reset to phone

I already use a Wifi manager, the WiMAN app, but Android should be hold the key password already inserted for the networks by default as it has always done.
I don't know why now I have this issue..

Since it is a stock rom it is obviously some error on Samsung's part.
I don't see any other solution than to factory reset. You shouldn't have such problems with the stock firmware.
